SassehMonsta · 23/06/2014 21:48

Super worried that emily hasnt checked in. Hope things are OK xx

Ladylel · 23/06/2014 22:26

miraculous I am so jealous! Won't get to see the love goblins until 15th July! :( longest 3 weeks ever unless they wanna fit me in earlier.. Unlikely.
I'm 17 weeks tomorrow so at a week behind its lovly to see yours are as big as they are!

htbftm · 24/06/2014 07:40

I agree sasseh. hope she knows pour thoughts n prayers are with her no matter what she's going through.

Somersetgirl1990 · 24/06/2014 10:24

Has anybody had there 16 week midwife appointment yet? Do they try and listen for a heartbeat?

I've got mine later today and don't know whether (if it's offered) to let her try and find a heartbeat. I know it's hit and miss whether they find it but if they don't I know I'll freak out and will start panicking whereas if she does find it I'll be so relieved so I don't know what to do!!

Also really hoping to hear from Emily soon and hope her little guy is okay. And Coddled it's incredible that things weren't explained to you at the time. Unbelievable.

Ladylel I'm afraid I'm going to annoy you now - I'm now on the bi-weekly scan and twin clinic schedule for the whole 2nd tri. It's very close monitoring and as I said to mum yesterday I feel a bit of a fraud since at the moment I'm really very well. However it is lovely to see them and have that reassurance again.

Thanks for all your lovely comments - twin 1's face-plant makes me giggle!

Somerset yes my MW did listen in to the HB. Found it quite quickly, it's so clear! But it was going a bit fast so i had a drink and then they went to listen again. little monkey had gone hiding and it took another 10 MINUTES before they found it again!

Your scan pics are beautiful Miraculous2. Will you found out the flavour at your next scan?

Hoping to hear from Emily soon x

17+2

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 10:47

I didn't hear the heartbeat at my 12 week scan so hoping to hear it at another appointment. I saw it flickering away so I'm not concerned, but a lot of people keep asking if I've heard it, and I haven't :(

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 10:48

Oh and my friend is taking me off for a day out in a nearby town today, lunch and all! Feeling so grateful for everyone's support and love at the moment.

PresidentSpreadable · 24/06/2014 11:25

That sounds like a top plan Peace, glad you are being well supported.

I only heard the hb for the first time at the FMC last week, it was lovely. Just had our Harmony test results back, and I'm low risk for the three trisomies that they test for, which is a huge relief.

Next hurdles to clear are my GTT in a couple of weeks and 20wk scan on 21st July.

miraculous love the pics! Just so exciting.

Wishing Emily all the best as well, thinking of you.

LisaC2611 · 24/06/2014 11:43

President - did you have a high risk which made you have the Harmony test? Where did you have it done if you don't mind me asking?

Ladylel · 24/06/2014 12:33

miraculous my consultant is the same day as my scan so mw seems to think its Scans every 2 weeks after that but well see.
Could you find out what the flavours were or did you not want to know?

I had my 16week me last week and she listened for HB but could only find one so I had a 2nd appt today and turns out the bugger was hiding. 2 nice strong heart beats :) can't complain. I think some midwives do and some don't depends on them I suppose unless you ask. Twin wise for me I've been told a few different things in regards to HB as they sometimes can't find one (in my case) so they don't like to worry people.

PresidentSpreadable · 24/06/2014 13:13

Hi Lisa. We decided to have the Harmony as I'm 40 and, although my inital risk came back as 1:1700 and the scan and nt looked fine, someone we know has recently had a baby with Downs after favourable combined test results, and I've also heard of three other recent cases of undiagnosed Downs (affecting friends of friends).

I just didn't want to take the risk, especially as we would not have proceeded if it was Downs (due to our ages, and having elderly and partly infirm parents to care for already).

nickyjlees · 24/06/2014 13:20

peace Im almost 18 weeks, had 2 scans and 2 midwife appointments and never heard or been offered to hear baby's heartbeat. Our midwives just don't seem to do it.

I just accidentally ate a massive Brie sandwich without thinking :(

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 14:48

Mmm Brie. You'll be fine ;)

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/06/2014 16:07

Today I look pregnant. Or like I ate too much cheese....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 16:12

I want some cheese now, preferably brie.

Hoping DH will take me swimming tonight. Desperate to feel cold water envelop me!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/06/2014 16:13

Peace I meant to reply about your duck head insensitive wanker of a Doctor! How dare he! Please dont take it to heart or let it upset your balance. I think I sort have come to terms with the fact that I am going to get told off throughout my pregnancy and am trying to grow a ducks back but I havrnt been spoken to like that! I am cross and indignant for you. I am glad you have good friends to take your mind of it.

I have no idea how I have survived the last two days at work....none...

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/06/2014 16:14

Oooohhh Swimming! Thats a bloody brilliant idea!

nickyjlees · 24/06/2014 16:15

Thanks peace :)
bighairy I looked pregnant then ate a load of cheese, now I look like I'm having twins :s

CatFaceCrayola · 24/06/2014 16:28

Got my 16 week tomorrow. Will be disappointed if I don't get to hear heartbeat.

My headteacher is great though. My appointment is at 10, I went to her enquiring about splitting the class up before i leave at half 9. She told me it'd be ridiculous to come in before my appointment and she'll sort out cover. Pleasantly unexpected lie in tomorrow :)

Also I now want cheese!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/06/2014 16:37

Did you know you can eat Brie if pasteurised and there are loads that are.. Same as Stilton. Also if cooked. Aldi do amazing breaded goats cheese and camembert....

I love cheese
it shows.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 16:41

Do they make pasteurised wine, BigHairy? Cheese needs wine.
