Oh and fab news about your friend Catface!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 10/06/2014 22:45

Awww isnt it lovely how people comment sasseh!

I have found since I told people that they become ever so interested in what I am.eating/ drinking/ doing and I have lost xount of the "should you be" comments (to viks on a tissue in an attempt to unblock my sinuses was the most ridiculous). Just thankful it wasnt a few weeks ago! I'd not have been able to stand it!

miraculous2 · 10/06/2014 23:14

Hi folks,

Bit late but here are my beans at 12+4 (I'm 14+2 today!).

Met my consultant at the Twins Clinic on Monday, nice but oh so business-like. Really uneventful appointment (good!).

I'm just enjoying telling people very gradually in my own good time. Still waiting for a resolution to my salary review at work, hopefully after board meeting tomorrow, so I can finally come out for real. The reactions are amazing - I'm going to spin them out for months if I can! Wink

On being touched - only my big sis has done it and I didn't mind at all. Sure I probably did it to her but I guess we're quite a touchy feely family - lots of hugs. But if I didn't have a bump and someone I didn't have anything like a touchy feely relationship with did that I'd most likely be as freaked out as you, bighairy!

catface that is so good about your friend - hope he can make a full recovery.

peace, what a guy! I am appreciating my DH so much at the moment too... I'm almost a full time job Smile

catface that's lovely news about your friend Smile

peace what a wonderful DH (DP?)! Hope you feel better after all the vomming.

Good news all those who have had scans. I'm also going to need to look at the proper site to see pics. Ours is on Tuesday - can't wait!

DS has woken up tonight and I went in to him and he just did not want me so DH has gone in instead. Now he's not going back to sleep and DH is losing patience...oops. DS is a proper daddy's boy at the moment and it doesn't normally bother me but I felt a bit hurt tonight. I wonder if he's got an inkling about the baby? Children are hugely intuitive aren't they? When I was pregnant with DS all my friends' children suddenly all wanted to sit really close to me - even before we'd announced - it was really strange!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/06/2014 07:57

Morning all!

This is definitely tmi.. .Grin

Went to the loo this morning, wiped, and there was what looked like a massive clot on the paper. I panicked... then it bloody moved!!! Slug on the paper... and I wiped with it.GraaaaaaahhhhhhSad

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/06/2014 08:16

Omg BigHairy. Omg.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/06/2014 08:40

Peace I know! Although it was a really odd juxtaposition of emotions being RELIEVED to see a slug on the paper at the same time as utter disgust!

PolytheneGirl · 11/06/2014 08:46

OMG Shock BigHariy I just nearly vommed reading that! Hope you're ok, I'd be in need of a stiff drink!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/06/2014 08:53

I once lived in a garden flat where we had a massive slug problem. They were everywhere, but the worst situation I ever got into was finding one in bed (from someone's foot). Good god, on toilet paper. Omg. I'm going to be sick!

isambardo · 11/06/2014 10:22

Lol peace, I almost peed my pants reading that! Thanks for reminding me to work on my pelvic floor!

PunkyPod · 11/06/2014 10:25

Eeewwwwww a slug!!!!!!!

Peace, your man sounds like a saint. What a supportive one you have there :)

Emily, it's strange...in the UK going into anything that'll raise your body temp is a no-no in pregnancy. I'm half Finnish where saunas come from. They're part of daily life there and in rural communities the only way to wash. My grandparents place there doesn't have a shower so it's a sauna or go dirty. Anyway, all the expectant mothers there carry on having their saunas. Granted, probably not having a scorching one like they may do normally but it's certainly not avoided. I'm going this summer when I'll be around 26 weeks and I'll be having daily saunas. I'll be mindful not to get too hot and to make sure I drink plenty, but I'm still getting in Smile It's interesting how guidance changes from country to country... I hope you have a really chilled out time at the spa, you deserve it after all the worry. x

15+3

isambardo · 11/06/2014 10:33

Sorry, I meant bighairy x

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/06/2014 11:30

You know when the nausea goes away for a few days, but you don't really notice you're feeling better until suddenly you feel worse again? Yeah, that. Damnit I have to walk to the new doctors to register, I can't stay in bed all day!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 11/06/2014 13:18

Oooh I made it back from the doctors and it's very swanky! My old one had mystery shit stains on the carpets, so this is a world away! So pleased things are looking up with our new area and new house etc. My phone keeps trying to change etc to TTC; get with the programme spell checker, that's sooo three months ago!

CatFaceCrayola · 11/06/2014 17:53

Oh big hairy that made me laugh so much...tried to explain to DH but was giggling too much. Showed him your post instead and he was just disgusted.

Must've been horrific, but thank you for sharing :)

Ladylel · 11/06/2014 18:00

Actually LOL'd Bighairy! So many emotions in one wipe! Yay it's a slug.... Hmm Hahaha! Sorry. Wiping tears.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 11/06/2014 18:09

hi ladies
I'm back from my spa day and feel amazing! spa days are such lovely things!! i should do them much for often!!
i had a lovely facial and painted toes done. lovely lunch and a chill on the heated loungers. stayed away from the steam and sauna room. but funny as you say Punky that in other countries the guidelines are completely different. i did worry about the heated loungers but i didn't get too hot and made sure i had water. i think if you are sensible surely nothing bad will happen? i mean people in the hottest part of africa survive and have babies! and surely they must be hot/overheated a lot of the time! really missed my massage and soak in the jacuzzi after but i can look forward to that after birth for a new mummy treat i suppose!
BigHairy - do you mean from a specialist pregnancy massage therapist?

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 11/06/2014 18:10

the slug on the loo roll has given me a whole new thing to worry about!! i will always check before i wipe from now on!! lol

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 11/06/2014 18:12

beautiful scan pic miraculous!!

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow a. because its my birthday! and b. i am seeing the midwife on a special appt she's squeezed in for me to hear babies heartbeat after all this worry!

CallingAllEngels · 11/06/2014 19:07

Euw!

spider the number of people who started commenting on my coffee intake at work was very annoying last time.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 11/06/2014 20:47

Emily A specialist pregancy massage therapist can massage you at all trimesters (avoiding the uterus). Otherwise other non-specialist massage therapists can massage you, but only after the first trimester and again avoiding the uterus. I used to be a massage therapist but managed to split the tendons in both thumbs!

Please do all check your loo roll. I'm utterly traumatised! Nearly as bad as the time I gulped an enormous moth a cup of cold peppermint tea. Can't drink the stuff now.
