Well even though you can't feel the baby move he is moving now so maybe he is having some impact on your insides. Get checked to put your mind at ease anyway

chillychicken · 03/06/2014 10:49

Fancy it quite possibly is your uterus stretching - I've had some pains which have really taken the wind out of my sails but I really would get it checked if your worried.

I think I might have a UTI so I've just called the surgery as I'm working away for a few days. Didn't speak to my usual doctor so feel a bit let down. I need to go in this morning, take a sample, they'll send it straight to the lab and will have the results by the end of the week. Brilllllliant. So now I get to go away whilst constantly feeling like I need to go.

It could just be dehydration I suppose. I'm struggling to drink lots and it's not painful or stinging but I go and a few seconds later feel like I need to go again. Any ideas on what I can do? Drink loads of water I guess!

Zermatt · 03/06/2014 10:58

Cranberry juice might help Chilly? I hear your pain though, feel similar myself.

Knottyknitter · 03/06/2014 10:58

Ooh Chilly gorgeous piccie!

Spoke to midwife this morning. Turns out I'm not really anaemic, but iron stores are half lower limit of normal. She will recheck it at my next appointment after a month of pills. Doesn't affect going to the mw unit either, which is great. They'll also check me for parvovirus immunity on that blood test as going to be working with kids from August so makes sense to know if I need to be wary of it or not.

Completely forgot to mention the bowel issues! Seems the baby brain has well and truly kicked in! (But seems much better today so far, so hopefully a 24 hour bug rather than anything too worrying)

PolytheneGirl · 03/06/2014 10:59

Chilly try drinking cranberry juice and plenty of water. It usually helps me. Hope your feeling better soon Thanks

Fx Fancy

Been waiting in the doctors for 20 mins. Don't they know who I am?!

I had a funny pain again when I got here but I'm in good spirits and sure everything is fine.

I'm hungry. Already eaten my emergency cereal bar and bag of salt and vinegar.

PolytheneGirl · 03/06/2014 11:35

Are any of the ladies slightly further along able to tell me exactly when their ms sodded off. I'm 12 wks on Thur and still trying to kid myself it's going to disappear like flipping a switch. I don't think I'm going to be going on this riverboat party on Sunday am I! I feel sick just thinking about it.

Glad your getting checked out Fancy. Now bloody hurry up GP! VIP in the waiting room!

12 weeks already poly?! God that was quick! You must be bursting! Can't help you with the ms question but fingers crossed it does go soon.

Told a leeeeettle white lie in the docs and said I hadn't had a scan ('forgetting' about my one at 6 weeks). Now got a scan at 2:30 and a sense of guilt for lying.

Zermatt · 03/06/2014 11:56

Quick poll:

Smoked salmon - would you eat it? Yay or Nay?

Zermatt · 03/06/2014 11:59

Guilt at the doctors is also banned Fancy (along with feeling stupid).

Your previous scan was before your recent pains so is irrelevant.

fancyacupoftea · 03/06/2014 12:06

I'll add that to the list, thanks Zermatt. It was a private one so they don't know any different!

I don't know about smoked salmon because I don't eat it myself (not a fan of fish) but babycentre says "Raw fish that has been smoked, such as salmon and mackerel, is also considered safe for you to eat. Smoking the fish kills any parasites or listeria bacteria. However, if smoked salmon hasn't been completely cured or frozen before you eat it, listeria bacteria may remain. Make sure that any smoked salmon you eat is from a trusted source, such as a supermarket, and always ask if you're unsure".

Personally, I would say yes.

Zermatt · 03/06/2014 12:12

Ooh thanks, babycentre Australia says no to eating smoked salmon, and NHS says yes.

I think I will add it to my safe pile, I've been really craving it.

PolytheneGirl · 03/06/2014 12:18

I think it's fine Zermatt. I'm taking the food advice very loosely this time round anyway but I'm pretty sure smokes salmon is fine.

Fancy I suspect they want you scanned incase of ectopic, as you already know that's not the case, you can just enjoy! I hope we get a pic! we better!!

I feel shite! DH just brought me a toasty and a cuppa. He's a good'un.

Poly that's amazing!!!

Well for those who have diarrhoea and wish it went the other way, DON'T. Just been on the loo for an hour (had a break before my scan). Oh the pain!

PolytheneGirl · 03/06/2014 13:04

Blimey Fancy that's sounds bad! I still wish my runs would sod off though. We've got a 2 hour drive on fri. I'm dreading it!

That sounds super bad Fancy, I wouldn't be surprised if the constipation has contributed to your cramp? Prune juice I up landlord.

barmybunting · 03/06/2014 13:12

I am glad you have a scan sorted for an hour or so's time fancy. I hope you see little wriggler happily bouncing about!

Poly, I won't answer your ms question personally as I am still struggling with it at 17 weeks, but the majority of people on my Nov antenatal thread are over it now, and have been since about 12-14 weeks so I hope you are very nearly there!

I am very glad I phoned in sick again today. After sleeping for about 14 hours straight, I feel much better today but have been sick a few times this morning. Nothing to the extent of yesterday thank god, the medication is a god send! My headteacher doesn't seem to impressed with me taking the time off, but short of throwing up all over the classroom and crying with frustration at it, I reckon he would rather I be at home than deal with that!

fancyacupoftea · 03/06/2014 13:17

Barmy I'm also glad for you that you took the day off. Your head will get over it!

I'm not going to lie, I'm slightly traumatised by my whole experience. Think it probably did contribute to the pain (how embarrassing). Oh well, I get a scan out of it!

MademoiselleG · 03/06/2014 14:07

Hurray for the scan Fancy and do post a picture!

Treaclepie19 · 03/06/2014 14:53

Cant wait to see your scan fancy :)

Congrats to all those who have already had their lovely little pictures :)

MademoiselleG · 03/06/2014 14:58

OMG I am actually connected to MN during a lesson to check on fancy's scan result...naughty!!

PolytheneGirl · 03/06/2014 15:01

Come on Fancy, I need an update before the school run!

Re: all the food talk, I am SOOOO taking it loosely this time around. I am basically picking and choosing which country I want to listen to: UK says raw fish is fine if frozen first: check! France says a bit of wine and cheese totally ok: check! tehee Wink

Zermatt · 03/06/2014 15:10

I love how the UK says YES to Stilton :)
