loving reading all the stories, so i wanted to join in :)

i'm 31, dh is 34. we've been together for 11yrs and married for 6. we met when he was working as a chef in my home town. he went back to uni in '05 and we waited to get married and start ttc until after he graduated.
i have rheumatoid arthritis, which causes mobility problems, so i don't work and he is now my full time carer.
this is our 1st dc, and tbh i think 1 will be enough for us.
S*

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 11:44

Monstamio we're pretty similar then - in as much as close in age (I'm just 35 Grin ), been with DH since 2003 and got round to getting married just over a year ago, and moved to the countryside 3 years ago (LOVE IT - been researching all-terrain strollers this morning!) I'm also self-employed and WFH and recently reduced my hours to 3 days a week. And 10 weeks with 1st DC tomorrow! We're also waiting for 12 week scan to tell everyone, ours is next Friday the 13th, have you got a date for yours yet?

Sad to hear about your MMC but great that you managed to conceive again relatively soon.

Nice to know there's someone out there in similar circumstances!Smile

I'm loving reading everyone stories. There's so much variety!

Me and DH met when we were 18 and we are now both 30, so together 12 years. We have our 1st wedding anniversary coming up this month. We both have established professional careers and we bought our family home last September, swapping city life for country! The current plan is for me to have a year off as maternity leave and then to go back to work part time.

We decided just before we got married that we wanted to start ttc in a few months. I had a mc last December and now feeling more secure in this current pregnancy. Hoping for 2 kids so there is a long term plan Smile

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 12:47

Bloody hell, Livvy you've packed a lot into a short time! I read all that and was thinking "oh she must be about my age" then got to the bottom and saw you're 22. Just goes to show you can't judge a book!

Ryslady · 04/06/2014 13:08

Hello had my scan this morning....7+2 due 19th January! It was amazing to see heartbeat etc and that this little bun made it to the right oven.

I'm enjoying reading everyone's stories, here's mine.

I'm 28 and DP is 29. We have been together 11years and have a DS who is 8. We initially never wanted anymore children and I went to university and did a nursing degree which I finished in 2012.
For the last year or so I have been super broody and just felt that there was something missing in our little trio. We decided to try for another and got pregnant on our 2nd attempt in March which resulted in an ectopic.
As you all know I am expecting again!

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 13:19

Ryslady My sister has an 8 year gap between her DC and it's worked really well for them. The girls adore eachother and the eldest DD has been really helpful.

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 04/06/2014 13:25

Hi all,

Glad to read stories and hear of successful early scans, etc. Unfortunately I have suffered a missed miscarriage and am waiting for nature to take its course. Have ventured to other parts of MN for support. I'd appreciate if someone could remove me from the stats?

I wish you all all the best for the many exciting times ahead. Take care xxx

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 13:43

Oh no that's so sad to hear. Glad you're finding some support. Take care Sad

EnglishGirlsReturned · 04/06/2014 13:47

I'm so sorry Dontbeblue Sad - i hope you have lots of support in real life. Take sometime to grieve your loss. sending you hugs x

Monstamio · 04/06/2014 14:09

So sorry to hear your news Rainbow. Please look after yourself and take all the support you can - it's such a hard time. Thinking of you Flowers

Very similar Vivi! Grin We're also loving living the Good Life. No scan date as yet as I don't have my booking in appt until next Thurs (apparently there's been a bit of a run on the midwives of late - hoping this doesn't bode badly for Dec/Jan!).

Congrats on the good news Ryslady

lindamagoo · 04/06/2014 14:22

DontBeBlue I'm so so sorry to hear your sad news. Look after yourself huni Thanks

deuscat · 04/06/2014 14:37

DontBeBlue I'm so sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage. The miscarriage boards were really helpful for me when I had a miscarriage. It's a really difficult experience, so give yourself time and room to grieve. All the best for the future.

I can't do the spreadsheet as I'm on my phone. Can someone else do this for DontBeBlue?

deuscat · 04/06/2014 14:39

Ryslady great news on your scan. I've not had an early scan but I'm 8+4 so hopefully not too far from my 12 week dating scan now. Can't wait!

gingysmummy · 04/06/2014 14:51

KeepOnPloddingOn · 04/06/2014 14:56

vivi glad you waited and all has gone well for you in doing so. Everything has pros and cons. I certainly think you just know when the time i right though :) I never get the 'no time is right' thing either ...

KeepOnPloddingOn · 04/06/2014 15:03

Vivi- we share same due date too :)
Jan 1st :)

Livvy- wow! It i amazing to hear how much you have achieved so quickly!

My dh is a head chef and it is very trying at times. He is thinking of leaving. He would love to work for the police. I would quiete like to get into probationary work, so if he did it would gel well :) (thats if I don't teach!)

Lovely hearing about everyone :) thanks for sharing all!

Minibagel · 04/06/2014 15:16

dontbeblue I can't alter the stats on my phone but hopefully someone will access this thread on a computer soon and edit the stats.

It is such a weird thing to go through, speaking from recent experience. Above everything, be kind to yourself and take time to grieve. I hope the other threads on here offer you the right support x

KeepOnPloddingOn · 04/06/2014 15:25

dontbeblue so sorry to hear your news.

dontbeblue sorry to hear your news.

Ladies, I need some reassurance, I am feeling quite a but of pain and cramping low down. It started last night and it's been herd all day, I did have diarrhea this morning too. I am freaking out, if is the same kind of pains I had when I MC last month.

blizy · 04/06/2014 15:33

Oops, sorry for the typos. But = bit and herd = here

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 15:36

I've updated the spreadsheet after DontBeBlue's sad news. Lets hope she's finding strength and we don't have to touch the spreadsheet again Sad

KeepOn for some reason I've got a fixation on having new years eve baby! I quite like the idea that I stopped the pill and gave birth all within one calendar year. And brilliant day for a party! Oh well guess there's no way of knowing for sure but looking forward to a clearer idea at my scan.

Monstamio you're being very philosophical about it - I'd be climbing the walls if I didn't have a scan date by now, but that's mainly because we're seeing our closest friends for a knees-up the weekend after and it'd be a massive pain in the ass not drinking yet unable to be honest about why!

ViviPru · 04/06/2014 15:39

bitzy lets hope it's just a mild stomach bug which is also causing the cramping. Get plenty of water down you Thanks
