Welcome guys! We are all worrying about everything here so you'll fit right in mightyquin!
Sorry to hear about your mum lulu, but what a lovely surprise you have now. X

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 00:04

Thanks. We saw the heartbeat, head and bum on the scan. It was amazing.

Due date 4th January. I worry too.

Have just started feeling sick in last few days. It is grotty. Am hoping it settles down.

PassTheAnswers · 30/05/2014 02:42

Alls been well here in the last few days- spotting has stopped thankfully. Fairly standard bloating and tiredness to the point of napping at the same time as ds, thank f for maternity leave!

Woke up at midnight far far too hot and have been unable to get back to sleep. Just as I start getting to the point of drifting off I get a huge wave of nausea. Had to poke dh to persuade him to get me a glass of water as any form of movement would have been too much. Had a wave of similar feelings a few days ago but this is worse.

Had late afternoon/early evening ms with ds which started like this, looks like this one is likely to be an overnighter affair. Pah.

rumisyum · 30/05/2014 02:47

Hurrah for your scan, gingy! And great news, Linda. Smile Welcome lulu & that sounds wonderful about your scan. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, though. Hello & welcomes & waves & ms commiserations elsewhere!

I managed to finagle a scan out here today after 2 days of non-stop spotting - still a happy bean, thank goodness! But a little haematoma next to it, probably from implantation they said, & probably the cause of all the anxiety! So sex is banned Shock and I've been instructed to rest loads, which I'm quite fine with. My EDD was brought forward a few days too, which was nice & makes more sense according to when I thought I'd probably ovulated. So 7+2 now! And hopefully onto an anxiety-free week of tropical holidaying. Smile

Minibagel · 30/05/2014 06:36

Welcome Mighty and Lulu I'm 7+2 and looking forward to my booking in appointment on Monday. 3 sleeps! This will hopefully be my DC3, after DS1 last year and MC in March this year. And yes, we're all a bag of nerves, ms, excitement and questions...you'll fit right in!

Minibagel · 30/05/2014 06:38

Woohoo date twin Rumisyum, great news about the scan and new date :)

Saraswati · 30/05/2014 07:05

Welcome mighty and lulu worry away here, we all are! I'm 9+3 DC1, EDD 30th dec and puking like a trooper! Great news rum and good luck to those with appointments etc. today

Already freaking out about my scan tomorrow, told DH about my anxiety dreams and he just said 'it'll be fine' and then started talking about getting his new MacBook! not very supportive Angry it's times like this I wish I'd told my mum or a friend, a woman would understand the worry better. Oh well I've got a really busy day in work trying not to puke in a conference so I hope that will distract me, better get out of bed!!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/05/2014 07:16

Morning ladies,

I'm trying to take a step back from here for the time being. I'm getting really freaked out and don't think comparing symptoms etc is helping me. So if you don't see me pop in that often, you'll know why.

Glad your scan went well Gingy.

Saras, try not to worry. I'm sure with the amount you're puking, the baby is just fine. I'll poke my head in tomorrow to see how you get on. Good luck!

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 07:19

Hello everyone and thanks for the kind welcomes.
So I'm a proper newbie and would love someone to explain what it means when people say they're 7+4 or 6+2 etc?

I'm 39 and we were trying for about a year, so thrilled to get bfp. Had a friend helpfully remind me that "most women our age mc first time", so that wasn't helpful to say the least. She could've just been happy for me... I've moaned ab

blizy · 30/05/2014 07:20

Welcome mighty and lulu.
Mighty I'm 5+5 today, so roughly the same as you, my EDD is jan 25th.

In bed last night I was having pains quote low down, they were weird, sharp pulling/dragging. I didn't have this with my first and the panic is setting in.

blizy · 30/05/2014 07:22

mighty I'm 5+5 so means 5 weeks + 5 days.

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 07:23

Sorry! On iPhone and posted prematurely! Anyway, moaned about friend in a seperate post, so will leave that now....

Still waiting for all the paperwork to be sent after speaking with midwife service last Saturday, so a little frustrated. I've been v tired and emotional with sore boobs, but that seems it so far, symptom wise. Oh, and feeling kind of hungover too!

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 07:27

Thanks Blitzy I thought it might, but wasn't sure, so I'm 5+6- We're almost the same! I hope the pains subside- can you speak with your GP?
Oh, another symptom- I'm drinking loads of water and eating plenty of fruit & veg, but I'm definitely becoming constipated Blush.

ViviPru · 30/05/2014 07:53

Mighty welcome and wow what a thing for someone to say. I know you rightly don't want to dwell on it but seriously, some people!

Makes me even more resolved in our decision to keep it to ourselves until after the 12wk scan. Although like you, Sara sometimes DH can be a little dismissive where my Mum would know just the thing to say. I seriously cannot WAIT to tell her. Two weeks today! Her and a friend who is due two months before me, it will be wonderful to have someone local on leave at the same time and going through the same things who is a friend already rather than a new acquaintance made solely via being a new Mum. She will freak when I tell her.

Anyone else sworn to secrecy with their DH/Ps? Who are you most excited about telling??

Camsie30 · 30/05/2014 07:57

Morning all and welcome to our new Jan buddies! Happy to hear about the scans. Just as I thought that my symptoms had gone and maybe I'd imagined being pg all along, I nearly fainted in the shower! Had to sit down with conditioner in my hair and shower gel all over me. It passed thankfully! So I'm a spotty, sweaty, fainty mess!! This bean better be super cute!! Happy Friday xx

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 08:16

Morning everyone. Thank you for the nice welcomes.

Mighty My mum had me after 18 yrs of marriage and no other pregnancies. Thought she was in the menopause. Turned out was 5 1/2 months pregnant. She was 44 when I was born ! Don't listen to your friend.

We are staying at PIL for a couple of days and MIL guessed when we arrived yesterday. Two hours driving - DH sat in the back with leg along seat in a knee supprt after football injury- on top of morning sickness and I felt awful. She said my face had changed as well! Asked me when we were alone in the kitchen and I just cried 'cos I felt so crap. She was lovely and sent me for a lie down and brought me up some tea.

Meanwhile DH downstairs told FIL, two Grandmas and SIL- all delighted of course. First baby in family for 34 years. DH is Goldenballs!

Anyway, I feel better today so far!

I know we've just been introduced Smile and this might be TMI but anyone else noticed increased ' wind' production? Blush

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 08:16

Rum that's fab news that your little bean is doing ok SmileSmileSmile

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 08:24

Hi Vivi I do regret telling her, but she's one of my oldest friends and was staying last weekend and basically quizzed me as I wasn't drinking and she knew DH & I had been trying for a long time.

MightyQuin1201 · 30/05/2014 08:36

Lulu I'm farting like a trouper!!

LuluJakey1 · 30/05/2014 08:42

Pleased it's not just me then Mighty

DH very entertained by it as I complain at him all the time about how much he needs to do it and how his intestines must just be full of it.

Starbright24 · 30/05/2014 09:04

I can't stop burping. Gurgly tummy.

I can't stop burping whenever I take my vitamins with dinner - the taste of them makes me want to vom. URGH.

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 09:31

Yes mighty I agree with with Madri, your friend really does need to improve her knowledge about age and conception before worrying you! I was 37 with my first pregnancy, 39 with my second and pregnant with my third now and I'm 43 Smile no mc so far
