Ouch. Haha if you feel bad for moaning at 36+1, what am I like for complaining at 24+4!

Not got a v pillow but got a wedge pillow, a dream genie and a normal pillow for between my legs! When I lie on my side it feels like I'm squashing something and I get a pain down my side. Then I move to my back and that hurts! Any advice on getting comfy?

OP posts:
misskgb · 12/10/2014 17:27

Have u put the wedge pillow under your bump? I couldn't c it helping with more to lean on between the bed & my bump but it really does take the weight. Still have to shift sides during the night mind

Its a case of trying loads of positions out to find what works but also mixing it up as it's not good to stay in just 1 position. Sorry that's not more helpful-maybe the others have some advice

Im leaning on a hot water bottle atm to help. Can't get comfortable enough to have an afternoon nap! :-(

Haha-I just meant about me whining wanting her out when those two are overdue! I'm going to be so bad if she doesn't come early!

binkybunny · 12/10/2014 19:02

mrsb was induced, saw on fb she's had her baby but I'll don't want to make the announcement, I'm sure she will in time!

For pillows I have 3 to prop me up, my v pillow across my shoulders and down my back and a cushion between my knees. If I put a pillow under my bump or lay too heavy on it she kicks me to pieces!

I spent the day at a safari park today and as we drove into the lion enclosure I had a massive contraction! Shock Had a few more during the day but since come home and had a snooze and they've stopped again Sad There was a 12 hour old rhino which seemed to get the oxytocin flowing so might need to go back and just watch the baby rhino Grin

weebairn · 12/10/2014 20:52

Thanks binky I was getting a bit worried about mrsb ....

Can't wait to hear her news (and yours ) xxxx

mrshjb · 13/10/2014 07:57

Awww I'm really glad to hear that mrsb has had her baby. I'm so excited to see pictures and find out what she's had. So mrsb don't keep us in suspense for too long!!!

Ooh exciting about the contraction binky, sounds like you're really gearing up for labour now. Baby rhino sounds gorgeous, what Safari park was that?

I've put the pillow under my belly, but I do find it uncomfortable to be laid too heavy on my side, then if I try and lie more straight on my side I feel like I'm a bit unsupported and having to really hold myself in that position. I was getting so mad last night trying to get comfy, tried absolutely everything!! It's such a pain though to finally get comfy, only to have to get up and wee in less than 2 hours!!!

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

Morning Smile
Hope you ladies are all well.

Great news on MrsB's new arrival, looking forward to an update.

Oh Binky sounds like you are close.... Eek!

H sorry to hear ur in pain. I feel it has been hard to get comfy since day 1. I have a massive pregnancy pillow and when feeling sore I literally cuddle it and it works most of the time depending on how sore I am. Hard to describe it, makes like the 'M' from McDonald's side. One part goes under your head, the middle of the M goes under bump and then the rest does through my legs.

H each part of pregnancy is hard, don't ever feel bad for complaining. We have all done it. At 24 weeks there is a lot of changes to size. You are less than 4 weeks off 3rd trimester!!

misskgb not long to go for you at all! Are you all prepared?

First antenatal class went well and was fine without DH. He is going to only make next weeks which is fine. Looking forward to making some friends as don't have many friends around here that have babies.

Had a lovely weekend with hubby, took him out for a curry on fri night and then did lots of shopping and organising sat and sun. Got most stuff for my hospital bag. Oh and I celebrated 10 years with my company which was lovely.

Struggling with my back loads at the mo, last night I hit a low point with it. Didn't know what to do as any position I was in was sore. Ended up having a really hot shower, hubby gave my back a massage and then used a hot water bottle on the worst part of my back. Feel so much better today. Xx

Lolly84 · 13/10/2014 08:31

Oops just realised I already shared antenatal class news. Just with you asking H, it's a 5 week course so by time I'm finished I will be 38 weeks, hope I can make them all as I feel they will really help. Really interested in what advice they have around relaxation to try and have as little pain relief as poss. Are you going to any Helen? X

binkybunny · 13/10/2014 09:31

H exactly what Lolly said, never feel bad about complaining, each bit of pregnancy is hard in its own way.

The safari park was Blair Drummond near Stirling, it was supposed to take my mind of being pregnant but the constant pains didn't really allow for that. Don't feel any closer now though as I wallow in bed full of self pity!

Lolly we've made some lovely mates from antenatal class, were all friends on FB now and trying to meet up. One has just had her baby though, I'm not really driving any more (too uncomfortable) and one person is really ill, so not managed coffee but it's nice having their support through fb and texts anyway.

Ok time to drag myself up and out of bed, going to make a cot mobile today to keep me busy!

Lolly84 · 13/10/2014 09:35

Oh how I miss Scotland Binky, love Blair Drummond Safari park!!

Ah that's good to know binky re antenatal class. We had such a mix of people was nice to heard different opinions. There was one woman who kept telling us how painful birth was and she was petrified of doing it again. Just had to ignore her lol!!

Ah please send pics of cot mobile, that will defo keep you busy!! X

weebairn · 13/10/2014 09:57

helen I'm pretty sure I whinged through the entirety of pregnancy you go right ahead....

Aw binky laughing a bit at your safari park antics... Come on baby binky, mummy is tired of waiting now. I remember the last time I drove pregnant , I think I was 39+4, I thought I was ok in the car but then I had to do an extended reverse down this road and twisting round in my seat for that long was so awful at the end of it I pulled over and wept for 5 minutes!! Toddler in the back screaming at me of course! God it was awful. You have all my sympathy. Could you cuddle up on the sofa and watch nice films in the rain or something? Really hope it's very soon for you.

lolly sounds like you're doing really well, get a massage from dh every night if you can!!

Baby is 13 days old here and a bit fretty- I've sorta come down from my post birth high and spending a lot of time crying and sleep deprived.... All normal I guess. This too will pass! Still good not to be pregnant though post natal body is a bit depressing. I cuddle my babies and remember it all passes...

binkybunny · 13/10/2014 10:04

It was having contractions driving up the motorway from Stirling at 38 weeks that put me off driving! But yes. twisting to reverse/park feels nearly impossible.

Aw weeb hope the baby blues pass quickly for you, enjoy your snuggles.

I am planning on sewing, drinking hot choc and watching Christmas/ trashy romcom movies today. Have kept busy up til now being out and about and its not shifted her so going to hibernate and see if that works!

misskgb · 13/10/2014 18:09

Hi ladies. Good to hear from everyone. Yes lolly im all packed & set up, ready for her arrival now

My family & friends threw me a surprise baby shower on Friday. It was lovely! Properly spoilt!

Looking forward to seeing the midwife tomorrow-see if she can sort this babys backside out!! I've been so uncomfortable at work today, particularly the drive home :-(

mrshjb · 14/10/2014 07:50

Morning everyone.

Thanks for understanding about me being a moaning cow! I can definitely see me investing in a fortress of pillows soon!

Lolly yeah I'm going to go to antenatal classes. I've got my midwife appointment this morning so I'll ask her about how you go about booking on. I don't know if you have to book later down the line, or if you book early but then they don't start for ages?! The woman telling people about how bad labour is doesn't sound helpful at all! Back pain sounds very grim. Have you been for any pregnancy massages? My yoga teacher was recommending it to me last night. Think I might maybe make it a monthly thing as something to look forward to.

binky forgot you were in Scotland. I've never been and never heard of the safari park. Sounds good though :) Driving doesn't sound like fun at all. There is a woman in my yoga class who is 39 weeks and is still working for another 4 days. It's at least her second but I really have no idea how she is doing it.

misskgb surprise baby shower sounds lovely. Did you get lots of nice things? I don't really like the idea of having a baby shower because I would feel so cheeky asking people to buy me things, but I'd be happy with a surprise one!! Hope your midwife can help to get baby shifting!

weebairn I can't believe your baby is 13 days old already, that's absolutely flown. Any new pictures?! Quite a lot of my friends have said your hormones to crazy after having a baby and you get really weepy anyways?!

Please all do a 'Helen hear the heartbeat' dance today.... I'm actually going to cry on the spot if she says no again!!

Have a good day everyone :)

OP posts:
mrshjb · 14/10/2014 11:49

Had to ask to hear the heartbeat but she did it :) Bump is measuring right on middle line.

Lolly do you have to pay for your antenatal classes? They only do a one off at the hospital here that's free and then you have to pay for others. The one that I would do is £170 for 17 hours and it's on a wednesday night between 7-9.30pm which seems a bit late!!

OP posts:
misskgb · 14/10/2014 18:13

Glad u heard the heartbeat H! :-) I refused to pay for antenatal classes. Is there a local sure start centre? Mime did one for free, or a week of 4 which were also free but during the day so couldn't go to them all

So mw can't move baby. Still waiting for her to drop to relive my ribs! Good to ne checking in regularly now tho!

Lolly84 · 14/10/2014 18:19

Hey

Misskgb wow a surprise baby shower how lovely.

binky hope your holding up well.

H mines are free - 5 sessions on a Friday. It's a journey to parenthood. I live in the West Midlands so may be something they do there?? I booked in late but mw told me about them at my first app. Not sure why they are not free where u r.
Oh that's brill about heartbeat and measuring dead on.

Realising today that I am finding it hard driving long distances. I only drove 50 miles each way today and feel terrible. Just sore in general. Supposed to do 90 miles each way tomorrow and can't face it. Don't know what to do as feel like I still need to carry out my job. Hmmmm!! X

misskgb · 14/10/2014 18:57

My office is 20miles away from home lolly and its starting to take its toll on me. Only have to do it 5 more times tho. Take it easy & don't do it if u don't feel up to it

Sorry h-forgot to answer about the baby shower. I always said I wouldn't have one for that very reason but my sisters arranged it for me. We had games, a cake, pizzas, and more presents than I have room for-I can't believe the effort people went to for me!!

mrshjb · 14/10/2014 20:30

Aww misskgb that sounds lovely. Did you get stuff for you or baby? Or both?

Lolly yeah I really don't blame you for not wanting to do that drive. Is there a chance you can only do local stuff until you finish?

My midwife appointments are at the surestart so there are definitely no classes there. Discussed it with DH and we are just going to do the free hospital session. Far too expensive to do the nct ones. Plus I think I'd be knackered to be getting home at 10 ish on a work night!

Hope you're in labour binky!!

OP posts:
binkybunny · 14/10/2014 22:14

not in labour H. Hiked up a hill this evening and nothing but restless legs now Sad

misskgb · 14/10/2014 22:31

Oh binky-hoping it happens very soon!

Mainly for baby but I did get a bit of chocolate & smellies. Dh eenjoyed the cake-only a tiny bit left now! My sister asked me for a gift list a few months ago so most of the stuff were things I needed for little lady but also things I was happy for other people to buy. Apparently there's more gifts to come once she's here!

The last 3 days I've been having sharp pains right in the lowest part of my abdomen/lady parts on the inside. Mw says its baby burrowing head & moving bones & muscles to get through. Still makes me wince!!

Lolly84 · 14/10/2014 23:10

Ah H shame there isn't more free classes. I was nearly not going to do the classes as they are during the day so midwife said just read as much as you can re labour and caring for baby.

I ordered a hypno-natal cd I am going to use to try and keep labour as natural as poss. I am big believer in how our mind guides our bodies so want to prepare myself as much as poss. Will let you know if it helps haha!!

Think my little boy is doing some serious dancing tonight! Feel like I have been beat up!! Wouldn't change it though.

Ah Binky'sbaby hurry up lol

mrshjb · 15/10/2014 08:59

Booo to the lack of baby binky. When is your next sweep booked for? Have you heard anything else from mrsb, dying to hear her update!!

Ooh more presents sounds good misskgb. Bloody hell that sounds really uncomfortable. Hopefully the little one is getting herself ready to arrive on time for you. I've had some pain in my left side and when I went to the midwife yesterday she felt it and said that's where his bum is. It's been a bit uncomfortable so I really can't imagine how it feels when they are so much bigger! 4 days left at work now or is it 3?!

Lolly let me know what you think of your hypno birthing cd. I've been going to yoga and a lot of that is about breathing techniques etc. I am honestly willing to try anything that might help me get through the birth! I'm sure weebairn said she used one in my first pregnancy and if nothing else it helped her to sleep!!

Yeah I am really disappointed about the antenatal classes. I thought it. Wild be something nice for me and DH to do together and also I moved areas when I moved in with him so other than people I know through work, I don't really have any friends over here so I was hoping to meet people through it. Might have to try at baby groups instead!!

25 weeks today and bump is definitely popping out. Was a bit shocked at how big it looked this morning!!

Have a good day everyone :)

P.s. chilly if you're a lurker I hope you're doing well!

OP posts:
misskgb · 15/10/2014 19:13

4 more to go H! I've also agreed to swap an annual leave day next week for TOIL that I've accrued which is another thing off my mind-means I can get paid for the extra A/L day as I lose my TOIL if not used

Dh finds it funny that I'm not worried about the actual birth bit. Anyone else chilled about it?

Any good things to look forward to for those whose births are not imminent?

Lolly84 · 15/10/2014 19:48

Sure will let you know H.

Funny misskgb I am the same re birth just want to be prepared Grin. It's gonna be sore but we can handle it!!!

Only thing I am excited about is going to Scotland next weekend for my last visit home before baby arrives. My friends have organised a wee lunch for me.

What about u misskgb?

Came home from work today as had a funny turn which turned into a terrible migraine. Wasn't good being 2 hrs away from home. Sad

Fruityb · 15/10/2014 19:50

I think i started that thread. So proud lol
