Oh no lolly-hope u feel better! Let us know how u get on in Scotland! Me & dh went for a nice meal on Monday. Rice krispie was kicking me loads & he could see from the other side of the table! Was very funny! Nothing in between now, just 24 days of waiting for her!!

mrshjb · 15/10/2014 21:04

Woohoo misskgb, that's not long at all is it! Wow 24 days, I still remember the day you got your BFP all those months ago! Seems to have absolutely flown. Can't wait to see pictures of your little lady :)

lolly that doesn't sound fun at all. Do you normally get migraines? I haven't had one since I was a teenager but they are beyond grim aren't they. Trip home sounds lovely. Do you know what they have planned for you?

Good for you two not being worried about the birth. It feels too far away for me to think about properly! My next countdown is to being off work for a week next week. Then finishing work (10 weeks today woohoo- got 3 weeks leave and then mat leave starts the week before I'm due) and then Christmas and then baby. All seems like ages off though. We're probably going to start the bedroom at the end of next month and look for prams and car seats etc so that might make it all feel a bit more real!

Ooh fruityb I'm pretty sure you are our founding father! or should I say founding mother!! How are you? Are you pregnant?

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 16/10/2014 06:46

Feeling much better this morning ladies, thank you. Yeh Helen I suffered a lot before I got preg and a lot in first 8 weeks. They just creep up on me.

Think it's a group of my friends meeting in a local bar/restaurant. I have been told to make sure my car is empty lol.

24 days misskgb that's crazy!! 43 for me. I was however told by a psychic my friend seen that he will arrive on 18 Nov, won't be holding out for that as that puts me 10 days early.

Oh Fruity, I was a lurker in the beginning and then decided to join. Has been an amazing group of success. Hope all is well with you and would love to hear your story. X

Fruityb · 16/10/2014 18:22

I will share it with you when I get there lol. I've spent more time recently monitoring various things and hopefully we'll get there. Think I was a little naive to begin with but am remaining ever positive. Been off the pill a year nearly but probably only monitored ovulation and such in the last six months. It's been brill to find this place though, have vented on here a good few times!

misskgb · 16/10/2014 19:31

I know H, seems so long ago on one hand but only 5 minutes ago on the other! I'm definitely still hoping for aneearly delivery-I'm off term on Saturday so very ready for her when she decides is the right time

Glad you're feeling better lolly, nothing worse than being ill when pregnant, especially when we're only allowed blumming paracetamol! !

mrshjb · 17/10/2014 08:46

I know misskgb, it's crazy isn't it. I'm finding the weeks are flying a little bit now to be honest! I really hope you're not left hanging too long to have your baby. Are you all set with your hospital bag etc now?

Glad you're feeling better Lolly. Haha sounds like you're in for a good weekend then :)

Fruity sorry to hear you're not pregnant. Coming off the pill was a nightmare for me too. I ended up finding temping really useful but OPKs complete pointless. They just didn't work for me at all. This has been a very successful thread in terms of getting pregnant, so thanks for bringing us all together! We've had some bad news a long the way but it's been lovely to get to know everyone.

I'm convinced binky is now in labour! and mrsb WHERE ARE YOU WITH THE BABY UPDATE?!!!!!!

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 17/10/2014 09:55

Fruity sorry to hear that!! As Helen said it has been a great thread. My learning was all about timing.

Feeling much better ladies. Got antenatal again today and DH is making it which is fab!! This weekend is a quiet one. Still not bought something for my little man to sleep in first few months. misskgb what have you got for your little lady?

I was thinking Binky is in labour as seems to be just us talking now.... Eek.

34 weeks today

H I felt it fly by until about 30 weeks. Feel like I did at the very beginning waiting on 12 week scan hoping everything is ok. He kicks all the time so no matter what he is well exercised lol xx

Lolly84 · 17/10/2014 09:56

Here's a bump pic, ladies get yours on it's fridaaaAaaaay!!! X

mrshjb · 17/10/2014 10:34

Aw brilliant, sure that will be good Lolly. Have you finished his bedroom yet? Has he got a name?!

Whitwoo bump is looking very good! I did a scary 4 weeks to 25 week comparison this morning, I'll attach it in a few!

Yeah people have said to me it slows down again towards the end when you just want them here!!xx

Nice bumps ladies!! Yup bag all packed for baby, me & dh. Camera charged and all ready for when she says go

I've been really lucky that my sister has 5 kids so ive stolen her moses basket for downstairs & her crib for our room. Dh & I bought a cot bed for when little lady moves out of our room

In other news-I successfully completed my last full week :-) 2 work days left & 22 til due day. Super excited!

binkybunny · 18/10/2014 08:13

Contractions started at 2am, think this is it guys! Smile

mrshjb · 18/10/2014 08:36

Ooooh binky good luck, I'll keep everything crossed for you. Update us when you can :) xx

OP posts:
misskgb · 18/10/2014 09:01

Yay binky (tho I think u need words with ur little one for keeping you hanging so long!)

Lolly/h-u guys worried about knowing you're in labour when it starts? I keep thinking I won't be able to tell, especially as rice krispie keeps doing lots of new moves & regularly!

Weeb/binky/mrsb- can u reassure us that we will be able to tell?!

mrshjb · 18/10/2014 09:17

Yeah I've thought about that. I'd hate to go to hospital only to be told it's a false alarm. My friend said she felt the same though and then when she went in to labour she said you definitely know!! I don't really know anything about when to call the hospital or anything yet so that's probably not helping me! Do you have to go off the time between the contractions or something?!!

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 18/10/2014 10:54

Hey ladies,

Binky - yayyyyyyy!

Not completely finished the room yet, still got a few little finishing touches which will probably happen after little man is here. Things like cot sheets etc and curtains.

Got a name H but too paranoid to put it on here as trying to keep it a surprise from family. Weird I know. What about u?

misskgb- I have read up a lot on signs of labour. Antenatal class covers it next week so maybe able to share more. Not worried about it as from what I have read you get a show (mucus plug going) first. Feels like terrible period pains and possibility of waters breaking. There can be days between show and and waters. Whatever happens ladies we will do the right thing!!

Out with MIL today looking for a Moses basket. Put a status on fb yesterday asking MB or crib and Moses basket won! All good.

Xx

misskgb · 18/10/2014 11:43

Yes lolly if I had to choose I'd go moses basket. U can easily move it between the lounge & bedroom then. I've only had the crib too as sis offered it

I've read lots of different things about it. I suppose its just that line that says 'most women' which makes u wonder if it'll happen to u, like having a show. My little lady still hasn't dropped so wondering all sorts about when it actually begins!

I didn't have AF for about 12 years before we TTC (these acronyms are old school!) and only had 3 before BFP so can't really remember what period pains feel like. Just very curious to c if everyone has thought the same about those first labour pains!

binkybunny · 18/10/2014 15:21

You just know, honestly! Went in the mlu with 3 min contractions and only 1cm dilated. It's really hurting so I'm gutted and exhausted! Back home trying to nap between contractions .

binkybunny · 18/10/2014 15:23

Mine was strong period pains and back ache. Plug really only went about 4-5 hours in. Waters not yet broken!

misskgb · 18/10/2014 17:12

Oh binky....hope its not a really long one for you. Can't wait to hear everything has progressed & you're holding your bundle of joy!

mrshjb · 18/10/2014 19:14

Really hope it picks up for you binky and you have a nice easy end to labour :)

Just getting ready for an engagement party. Very different to be getting ready without wine!

OP posts:
mrshjb · 19/10/2014 09:26

Morning, hope it's been a good night for you binky!

Lolly I think we have a name, we've found it really hard because no names have massively jumped out at us. DH doesn't really want people to know until he's born. My sisters husband started calling baby by the name we are thinking and I found that really weird so will probably keep saying we're not sure for quite a while yet! Did you find it easy to pick a name? Did you manage to get a Moses basket?

Handy getting a cot from your sister isn't it misskgb! I've got a cot from my sister and borrowing two Moses baskets from a friend. Going to have one in our bedroom and one downstairs. Did you not have AF on the pill? I used to get really bad period pains, I'm hoping this means I'll be alright in the very early stages..... haha! How many weeks are you now?

Stayed out at the party until about 10.45 last night. Suffered for it in the night and so tired this morning but it was nice to go out :) booked my private scan this morning as well. Got it on 9th Nov when I'll be 28+4. Can't wait!

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 19/10/2014 10:14

Ah Binky so excited for you!!! Xxx

Miss and H I got a Moses basket in the end. Mothercare and babies r us and all big shops were rubbish as didn't have many in. Mother in Law took me to this amazing shop, what a find. It had everything in there. All diff kinds of Moses baskets.

Hmmm on the name thing we found it pretty hard. My thing was I wanted a Scottish first name but living in England and the brummie accents around me some of the names would get spelled or pronounced different. I love Lachlan and if someone read that they would poss pronounce it Latchlan down here. I tested them on hubby, was pretty funny. We have went for a shortened Scottish name. The only thing I am unsure of is my sisters friend has a little boy that name. They live 300 miles apart so don't think it matters really. Middle name is Patrick after my Dad.

Miss do you have a name? I can't remember if you did!

Dreamt about having a 'show' last night. Must have been after our convo yest. Woke up a bit dissappinted. Got last bits for hosp bag yesterday. Feel all properly prepared.

H - what's the reason for the scan? Just to see your little man again or are you going 3D? I think there should be defo be a scan at around 30-32 weeks. Xx

mrshjb · 19/10/2014 11:47

Aw lovely, did you get anything else whilst you were there or have you pretty much got everything now? I'm looking forward to getting a pram etc but I wouldn't have a clue where to start really!!

Haha yeah the poor thing might spend a lot of his time having to spell out and correct people on his name if you gave him a more complicated Scottish name! I don't think it matters about your sisters friend if it's not like you see them regularly. Nice to have a family name in there as well.

I would imagine you spend a lot more time thinking about birth towards the end so not surprising your dreaming about it. Good that you're feeling prepared. Are you at a mlu or labour ward?

It's one of those 3/4d bonding scan things. Suppose my reason is to make it feel more real, confirm that he is a boy, bring family along and also break up the time between 20 week scan and baby's arrival. They're so expensive, but I've always fancied one so I thought why not treat myself. I'm just hoping it'll be a really nice experience. Yeah I agree. My Mum said yesterday that when she had me they used to have a 16 week scan and then a 32 week scan. It seems a bit like you're just left now after 20 weeks, other than midwife appointments obviously, but as nice as hearing the heartbeat is it's not quite like having a scan is it!xx

misskgb · 19/10/2014 17:28

No name for us yes. There is a bit of a list going on & we both have favourites but decided not to choose til she's here as we'll have to make a decision then!

Yes I had AF but only 3 & they only lasted 2-3 days. I remember cramping with the first one badly but can't remember what the pain felt like so finding it hard to compare that to what contractions might feel like

Im 37+1 now so 2 weeks and 6 days left til due date. Still thinking (& hoping) she'll be early. Dh thought so too but he's not so sure anymore!

H I think u just have to go and try some pushchairs and get a feel for what you do/don't like/want. It's not easy!
