Thanks everyone :) Having the baby is so much better than being pregnant, honestly, I know I keep saying this, but people pissed me off so much with their doom-and-gloom "oh just wait till you have a newborn it will be even worse" negativity!

We are having lovely family time, toddler is absolutely thrilled with "her" baby and DP is on paternity leave and my mum is staying with us so I'm having plenty of rest, lovely messages from friends, food and sleep! (in short patches and day time naps!) Abby is doing great and feeding well and sleeping well for now. (I always say "for now" as nothing ever stays the same with babies!)

Lovely lovely bumps. MIssk, you look just thrilled and your bump is a lovely shape! Helen you are still so little and neat! Lolly your bump is gorgeous.

Helen hope you are feeling ok about movements now? I think 23 weeks is a bit early to have regular movements but I totally understand the stress and worry, I ended up going in twice for monitoring in the last 2 months. But in the next few weeks you should be getting more obvious and regular movements to judge it properly.

missb really sorry you are waiting. Going overdue is just fucking shit, there's no way round it. I went 5 days over with toddler and whinged and cried the entire time. Can you book something nice for yourself, like a massage? I also did a lot of bouncing, though I found people telling me to eat curry etc very very annoying - babies just come when they come!

binky thinking of you too. End of pregnancy is fucking horrible! Really hope you don't have too much longer to wait.

weebairn · 02/10/2014 18:32

er, I meant mrsb, sorry!

Lolly84 · 02/10/2014 23:11

Aw thanks Weeb. Glad to hear you are having a lovely time as a family! Sounds like you have a lot of support.

Do any of you ever feel like your baby is going to pop out your skin? I have one active baby tonight and really feel lol he is trying to escape out my belly button.

I was delivering a training session and got out of breath lots (I was just talking). So looked it up, didn't realise (sorry if this is silly) that your lung capacity is less when pregnant due to uterus and baby pressing on lungs. Got 3 full days of training to deliver next week, that will be interesting Hmm xx

binkybunny · 03/10/2014 05:39

All your bump pics are making m so jealous of how lovely and neat you all are, I just feel like a massive blob!

My parents are visiting, completely spoiling me, but I'm managingto walk around two shops before collapsing with bh and back ache Sad

weeb family life sounds lovely, I just want my baby now, can I just skip the child birth bit?!

39 weeks today! At mw this morning, will be discussing sweeps for next week Confused

Need to 're read posts, can't remember who said what now!

binkybunny · 03/10/2014 05:44

H I forgot it's about 28 weeks when they tell you to start monitoring movement, hope you're feeling some kicks and rolls now?

Lolly yep to the being out of breath, my bump has dropped now, supposedly giving more lung space but I can't get off the sofa without gasping for air!

mrsb you must nearly be there! I've had a feeling I might go today, don't know why other than maybe because it would be convenient with my parents here. Maybe we can labour together Grin

mrsb87 · 03/10/2014 07:48

Pleeeaaaaaase be today!!!! I'm so so fed up now. I'm frightened to leave the house on my own because I really don't want to start contracting in the middle of Tesco or my waters to break while I'm out for a walk. I'd be okay with dh there but just the idea of being alone frightens me.
My mum is up for a week tomorrow so maybe my body will decide it's the right time while she's here!

Lovely bumps ladies! All very neat...unlike mine at the moment. lolly yes I swear it's like a scene from Alien sometimes! It can catch my breath a bit sometimes!

mrshjb · 03/10/2014 08:52

Lovely bump Lolly! I've got it in my head that by 30 weeks I'll be looking properly pregnant and very bumpy! We'll wait and see though, might be sooner! The lack of breath doesn't sound good though, to be honest I've had that from the start when walking up stairs and hills etc. They just said it's a result of your heart having to work much harder to support you and baby so it was common to get racing heart and out of breath. I've always been pretty fit though so I find it really strange. Hope your training next week is ok.

weebairn family life sounds lovely. Really cute how your toddler says it's her baby!! It's really good to hear how you find having a baby better than being pregnant, like you say all you get is people telling you how hard isn't going to be!!

mrsb I really really hope today's the day for you. Going overdue must be such a pain in the arse. The very late stages of pregnancy really don't sound fun at all.

misskgb how long have you got left in work now? Yeah I'm feeling quite good to be 23 weeks, is kind of felt like I was more legitimately pregnant once I got to 20 weeks!!

Glad your parents are there to look after you binky. Hope you don't have too long to wait either!

Thanks for all the comments about movement. I think it was because the night before I posted, DH had felt him move for the first time and he seemed to be really active and then the next day I didn't feel much at all, so think it was a bit of an anticlimax. Plus I'd had two really crappy days in work and slept awfully so I was overly paranoid and emotional. The last few days I've felt him move a lot more so I am feeling a lot better now. I'll ask the midwife at my next appointment when to start monitoring and when I can ask for reassurance if necessary. Like you've all said though, I'm sure it's 28 weeks.

Happy Friday everyone :)

Just a quickie to say to Binky and Mrs B I hope it's your day today!!
Will send a proper message soon!!

32 weeks today - 5 weeks left of work!! Whoooop

misskgb · 03/10/2014 10:30

H I still have days now where she's not very mobile. It scares me if she doesn't give me a nudge after I've eaten as that's her most active time. But I don't mind one day of it- I've not reached 2 days in a row with her being quiet luckily. A few weeks ago it she was buzzing for the whole day which equally scared me- I wondered what had got into her system! A quiet day the next and then she went back to normal.

Driving is becoming a bit more difficult as lolly that's when she sticks her arse so far out of my tummy it hurts, but it's also right under my ribcage meaning I can't sit comfortably. Seriously, during lunch with my friends yesterday, she stuck her bum out and my bump went properly lobsided. Much to the amusement of my friends. I however, don't think it's so funny. she must have a big ass like her mum! :-) hehe The MW thinks it's funny too- what's wrong with these people?! It hurts even more when my tummy goes rock hard, i just have to give up and lay down!

I have 10 working days left after today MASSIVE WOO HOO!!! Though I've got next Thursday and Friday off so finish on the 21st. Got to go to Hitchin next Wednesday which is like an hour and a half drive away. Got a colleague to do the driving though which is better. Nervous about being so far away, and DH is now in Kent at the end of the month (if I let him go!) It'll be typical she won't come if he stays, she'll arrive if he goes! Hmm

Lolly84 · 04/10/2014 06:01

Aw Binky, so I can expect the breathlessness to get worse then?! I always like to know what's ahead of me lol!! I have realised I need to slow down at work. Not really changed my pace or anything. Someone said to me the other day 'you are the most energetic pregnant person I know' lol! Had a chat with my boss and he said to really think about slowing it all down. Nice to work for such a caring company.

Yesterday I felt at my crappiest (nice language eh?!) left house at 7, drove 1.5 hours to Leicester interviewed people all day and then left Leicester at 6 and got home after 7. By the time I got in I just felt horrible. So went to bed for a lie down. Felt guilty as house is a mess and hubby been working lots too, more than me. He totally understands though.

Helen you will have a big bump in no time. I would say I only really popped out about 26 weeks. Been told how neat I am up until about 29 weeks. I still get surprised when strangers ask when I'm due lol

Oh misskgb only 10 days to go of work, I woo hoo'd for you lol!! Ah that's brill!! Can your hubby re think the Kent trip?

Oh MrsB I have never really thought about how hard it must be to go out coming up to and past due date. Must be a crazy feeling to think at anytime you can go. I was thinking the other day the worst time for me would be working with men and waters going and baby coming quickly and having to be delivered by a male colleague or something lol!! Totally irrational I know but would be the worst thing I think lol!!

Ok so sorry about long message and going on, my fingers can't stop typing. Baby has been really active since I got home last night until now. Nearly 12 hours!! He woke me up with having the hiccups there. Hmm not going to complain though, would rather not sleep and feel him xx

misskgb · 04/10/2014 08:20

Ive woken up early today lolly coz I'm smiling at little lady fidgeting! You should have popped in here for a rest yesterday-I live in Leicester!!

I was the same re slowing down. Even at 35 weeks people are telling me to be careful! I have started listening to my body & if I'm tired I just relax of an evening. Dh is really supportive of that, but also knows when I'm just being lazy!

He can get out of the kent trip so I'm not too worried

When is everyone thinking of taking their notes every where they go/when did you start? For someone who thinks I'll pop early you'd think I'd have started but I've not so am just curious! They're coming to Northampton with me today!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Lolly84 · 04/10/2014 18:15

Oh you live in Leicester, that would have been handy lol!!

I always have mine in the car anyway. Midwife told me to do that in early stages when I didn't look pregnant. I am always near my car so handy if I have them in it.

Sounds like you should keep them on you now. I can't believe how many people on my baby centre app are having babies at 32 weeks scary!! Xx

misskgb · 04/10/2014 18:44

32 weeks? Eeek! I just worry if they're in a car they could be left ages away from where I am but if they're at home, I could get my brother to pick them up & deliver them to the hospital. I'll take them with me whenever I'm not near home!

Do we know if there's a rough estimate of time when your bump drops in relation to giving birth or a certain week it should drop? Curious!

mrshjb · 05/10/2014 09:30

Morning :) baby had a really active day yesterday, he was on the move so much! Don't know if it was because I went for lunch with a friend and then sat around talking all afternoon so I might have been more aware of it, it was nice though :)

Woohoo for the mat leave countdown misskgb that's absolutely going to fly by!! Had to laugh at your daughter's fat arse, it does sound rather uncomfortable though.

lolly good for you staying so active. I would imagine your body will tell you when you need to really slow it down? I had to delete that babycentre app after my first scan. I just found it was constant negative posts and bad news and I think it really added to my stress levels waiting for the scan and I couldn't bring myself to put myself through it for the rest of the pregnancy. I still get the weekly update emails though which I like. I have more fact based apps now with no birth clubs!

I took my notes with me when I went on holiday but I don't take them when I go out around where I live. My sister got in trouble the day she went in to labour because she didn't have her notes at work and had to go home to get them, so maybe you should when you're further down the line! I'm almost paranoid about losing them though!

Really hope your baby has arrived/ is currently arriving mrsb

Has anyone felt really overwhelmed at any point about having a baby? Last night I was in a really strange mood, almost a bit shell shocked in a way. Think it was because I'd spent all day talking to my friend who has a 9 month old and it really made me think about all the responsibility that is coming my way! DH didn't really get it, he kept saying we'll be fine and we signed up for it etc etc, which really isn't the point. I know all that but I was a bit like shit this is real!!!

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 05/10/2014 10:50

Ah the baby centre app hasn't been too bad really on my birth club month. Good thing is all the babies are making it through.

Have any of you had braxton hicks at around 30 weeks plus? I haven't and not sure if I am supposed to have. Got midwife on thurs so will ask her too.

Re the notes thing, I suppose I take mine in car as can be as far as 200 miles from home at times. For me I have had in car since day 1 as drive a lot and anything can happen on roads (I suppose like my pre-preg crash).

H I don't think I have had the overwhelming thing. Only feeling I have sometimes is, is this the right time? Takes me a couple of minutes to remind myself yes!! Sometimes mention to hubby and he puts my mind at rest. Think it's normal to feel overwhelmed as it's life changing more than anything even marriage.

What changing bags have you all bought? That's on my to do list! Oh and not thought about hospital bag. When did you all pack yours? X

binkybunny · 05/10/2014 12:41

Morning ladies, still here no baby, 5 days til EDD!

H I'm still having overwhelming moments, I've been having mini meltdowns for months deciding I'm not ready to have a baby. Thought I was in early labour on Friday night which prompted another melt down about how I'm not ready for childbirth. or being a mum, I need to get a grip!

I've carried my notes with me since about week 30 I think and my hospital bag now goes every where with me, but only started carrying it at about 34 weeks .

Lolly I've just got the free changing bag from Boots for now. I really want a Radley changing bag so I'm holding out getting one as a gift!

misskgb · 05/10/2014 15:55

I got my changing bag from mothercare but off the website. It was £20. They're so expensive!

Mines been packed for a few weeks now. Im dead close to the hospital so not so worried about not having it with me yet. Will take it when I'm not local.

I've not so much got overwhelmed but I am stupidly emotional. I've never been girly so am finding that difficult to cope with!

Not sure if they're braxton hicks but have definitely felt tightenings since 30 weeks. Nothing to make me think she's coming yet tho!

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 08:52

So I'm officially one week overdue now. Unbelievably fed up. Going for another sweep today, fingers crossed that kicks things off.
I have been getting braxton hicks since about week 30 but not everyone gets them so don't worry if your not!

weebairn · 06/10/2014 10:48

Thinking of you mrsb . Being overdue is just crap and time becomes endless. Hopefully the sweep will do its work today.

mrshjb · 06/10/2014 14:13

mrsb sounds absolutely rubbish, fingers crossed the sweep gets you going.

Good stuff that all the babies are making it through Lolly, suppose it's a completely different ball game from the first trimester where there are a lot of miscarriages and then a seemingly high number of missed miscarriages.

What happened on Friday binky?

It's all getting very serious now, talking about hospital bags, and braxton hicks!! Please don't all abandon me at the end when you have your lovely babies and I'm fat and fed up!!!

OP posts:
mrshjb · 06/10/2014 14:13

p.s. hope the little one is good weebairn, I'd love to see some more pictures when you're ready :)

OP posts:
mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 17:46

Well the midwife didn't seem too hopeful about the sweep, it almost brought me tor to be honest. The thought if possibly another week of this was just too much time bare! She went off to sort a date for induction and I did shed a little tear with dh there as I was trying to get my trousers on!
I asked for another sweep before induction if possible which she said was fine.
She came back with the date, Thursday! No time for another sweep but happy the end near! If nothing happens before then at least Thursday isn't far away. Phew!

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 17:47

Brought me to tears that was meant to say. Stupid phone sorry!

Lolly84 · 06/10/2014 17:50

Thanks ladies for recommendations. Just felt I wasn't having something I should have with the BH.

mrsb I hope your baby arrives soon for you, at least you know it has to be within the next week (I am not saying this to annoy you just trying to give u hope).

h there is no way you will be abandoned!! We will be here. I still have 8 weeks Hmm

Can't stop looking up changing bags. Oh binky I googled Radley after you mentioned it and omg I love them. I could only have that as a pressie too so was really hinting to DH last night lol!!

32+3 weeks and 4+3 weeks left at work!! Bring it on!!

misskgb · 06/10/2014 21:13

Moan alert oooowwwww!!!!!!

So this babys ass has no intention of moving & is incredibly uncomfortable. At this rate I won't be getting to my end date at work as it even hurts to sit down. i'm only comfortable on all 4s but i cant do that in the office! I shouldn't moan as I've had a nearly perfect pregnancy but still, oooowwwww!!!!

Thursday mrsb so exciting! Don't worry h we won't leave u!
