Jess was 6 lb 14 oz, 5 days late. So not small like a prem baby, but quite little for a full term baby. Oh she seemed so small…

i'm going to bore you with a pic, this was 5 days old

People told me I hadn't bought enough stuff last pregnancy, now they tell me about all the stuff they bought that they never used. Don't worry about it - babies don't actually need that much and you have tonnes of time. Also, shops stay open after babies are born! I didn't buy pushchair or cot or highchair etc till I needed then, a few weeks or months after birth or whenever. Not saying you have to do that, but it's not mandatory to fill your house with stuff you may or may not need either!!

Baby clothes are quite hard to resist mind...

mrshjb · 09/09/2014 16:04

You can't bore pregnant women with pictures of babies!! Aw she's very cute and like you say that's small for full term but not too small by any stretch. I'd like a nice lower end of 7lb something in an ideal world! Is that mr weebairn?

Yeah this is what I'm thinking and I'm inheriting so much stuff from my sister and friends. We'll probably get the pram earlier because DHs Mum is buying it and I don't think I'll be able to restrain her for too long but other than that I'm alright with not buying anything for a few months yet! Yeah baby clothes are cute, I'm sure I'll find myself wandering down the blue aisles before too long!!

Awwww weeb so cute and tiny! Def can't bore us with baby pics... scare maybe (will I really have one of this in the next month?!)

weebairn · 09/09/2014 17:29

Nearly 2 years later… waaah it goes too fast!! unlike pregnancy

I really will stop now.

Awww glad it went well Helen. We were shown a very close up pic of all boy bits. That was the clearest pic I seen lol!!

Aww weeb your daughter is beautiful!! So excited for you and can't wait to hear about your experience.

It's just feels like yesterday we were on the conception pages trying our best to get pregnant and here we are!! There have been ups and downs along the way!!

lady not sure if you can see this but hoping you are well!!

Forgot to post a pic of our wee mans room. It's not finished but can see where we are going! It's been a challenge to make the best use of space but happy with what we have achieved! have went pretty gender specific with everything really!! My thing is colour as seen how stimulating it can be for my friends babies. Lime and Aqua are our colours as you can see. Our pram is lime and aqua too! Not bought much really, sis told me not to buy clothes as people buy lots! Me and hubby will just fill in the gaps.

Xx

Beautiful room Lolly!

mrshjb · 10/09/2014 06:30

Aw I love the monkey tree Lolly. I can't decided whether to have a baby border put on the room or to get stencils like that. Where did you get them from? Hahahaha well I'm still intending to have a private scan at some point so I'll make such to get an eyeful of the goods! My uncles wife commented only status on Facebook that they said her daughter was going to be a boy. It made me want to punch her in the face. I really didn't care what I was having but once I know I'd be pretty annoyed if they were wrong. I'm guessing the chances of them getting boy wrong are less common than saying girl and it being a boy?! Plus she had her daughter 15 years ago so I'm sure technology has advanced since then!

Weebairn your daughter is very cute!

20 weeks today, officially half way through :) plus now I've had my scan I can finally look forward to going in holiday on Saturday :)

Lolly love your nursery, so jealous you have it all finished! I left everything to do until I started mat leave and now I'm so big, tired and achy I'm not getting much done. I stupidly decided I'm painting a tree, rather than but wall stickers but if I don't get a move on I think I will be ordering from John Lewis!

weeb so fed up of pregnancy here. Would just like to be able to sleep at night, not have nose bleeds, agonising back, upset stomach, splitting head ache and everything else this last tri is throwing at me Sad

Helen, I desperately tried to stay away from gender related stuff and banned everyone from buying pink, only to have bought more pink than anyone else!

Hope you have a great holiday and enjoy being pregnant in the second trimester before you get to the whingy third Grin

misskgb · 10/09/2014 09:57

Nothing wrong with whinging in the third trimester binky- you carry on!

I am properly achy today and wondering how I'm going to work til 38 weeks. I'm starting to think that was a stupid idea! I've emailed my acting manager to say I have 6 days A/L left to take and am thinking of booking them in so lets talk! It's difficult as I've got to do a 2 week handover to my maternity cover and have no manager in post until either the same week as my cover, or possibly the week before. arggghhhh!!!

I love the monkey tree too Lolly! We've not decorated our nursery, just put the cot up and we're going to do a canvas where we have either mine or dh's footprint and the others hand print, and then the foot and hand of the baby over the top of both in colours that will go in the room as it is. I can't wait to do this. No idea where the idea came from, just had it one day and it's stuck!

As I'm not girly, I also banned people from buying pink. I decided it's fine for me and dh to buy if we want, but not for other people ra ha ha ha (I sound so mean!) My mum bought an outfit for little lady, which was pink, but it was quite cute tbf!

H wait til the baby clothes sales are on...you'll definitely treat baby/yourself to a few things!! Congrats on the boy :-) (don't think I've said that yet!)

thanks to you all for making me feel better about my outburst the other night. I know it'll be ok really, but that doesn't help when you're in that moment!!

weeb congrats on being 'term'....can't wait to hear about your special delivery when it happens!! Smile

Lolly84 · 10/09/2014 20:53

Thanks ladies, all down to DH. He got the stickers from ebay, they are called naughty monkey or something. They were so cheap and don't look it at all. So easy to put up, well it looked easy lol. Love the ikea furniture, I had a vision of cute and then thought nah lets make it fun.

Aw Binky I am sure you will create something lovely. Have a look at ebay some great stickers on there. Just think Bunky you are on the home straight now. Not long to go!!

Have a lovely hol H, where you off to?

aw Misskgb I have said I am going to start AL for 3 weeks at 37 weeks, really hope I can hold it out wil then. I do wonder if I will sometimes. Xx

mrshjb · 11/09/2014 07:47

Haha you lot are really making me look forward to the 3rd trimester!! I know how whiny and miserable I was in the first so I'm sure I'll revert back to that. Which trimester do you all think was the worst?! Sorry you're all struggling though, it does sound bloody hard work.

binky to be honest I'm sure once I start looking I'll buy loads of stuff! probably another reason why I'm putting it off! I do think it's hard to buy as nice neutral stuff. Plus once he's here I want people to know he's a boy! Will girls you do have a nice range of colours other than pink, but it seems shops like you go crazy with the pink!

misskgb you bad ass slipping in a link to boys clothes. As soon as I opened it I was like Oooh!! Sounds a good idea to talk about getting your leave in, just a pain there's so much going on at your work that sounds like it's making it a bit harder.

Lolly it really is lovely. I googled the stickers and showed DH and we've decided on that kind of theme now too. I was sure between that kind of thing or like a border but I much prefer the trees after seeing them :) We're going to the Lake District for a week on Saturday. I honestly can't wait, I'm so ready for a break now. I've got my mum to be massage on Monday too which I'm really looking forward to!

I started my maternity leave countdown yesterday- 14 and a bit weeks and I'm off for 2 of those. I'll be 35 weeks when I finish. I think I'm just lucky that it falls around Christmas time so I was already off then, I'll then use two weeks leave and my maternity will start a week and a half before I'm due.

Have a lovely day everyone

weebairn · 11/09/2014 08:01

I think the first trimester is the worst...

Third is physically hard too but you get more concessions! And there's an end in sight! (somewhere…)

binkybunny · 11/09/2014 08:20

yep 1st hardest as you have to battle on with few people knowing why you want to die. 3rd isn't too far off and if I was working any longer it might have been the worst!

misskgb · 11/09/2014 09:13

Totally agree- first was the worst. I couldn't cope with not eating. It left me with no energy, I was miserable, nothing to show for it (no bump really) and having to hide it all just meant they were a difficult few weeks, plus the anxiety of trying to reach 12 weeks safe and sound (remember those woes?!)

Oh H I honestly didn't link it....MN must have done it automatically, like I'd give you any more temptation than what's already in the shops!! That's naughty of MN!

So I got in from work last night and burst into tears. This time because I felt so ill and just wanted the ground to swallow me up! DH banned me from football training (I'm still coaching the team once a week and at games on a Sunday) so I had a nap and then an hour long bath with my 'bump and me' bubble bath and have to say, I feel so much better today. Still got my cold, headache and bunged up, but my first feeling this morning wasn't one of death- result!

And H- you're going to love the third trimester!!! hahahahaha

Lolly84 · 12/09/2014 04:14

Fab H! On ebay they are like £5. Just looking for a good priced colourful mobile now, curtains and bedding. The 4 frames above the toy box looking thing are going to have a lion, giraffe, monkey and elephant on. Just looking for the right ones at the mo.

Aw Misskgb, hope you are ok. Not good feeling so poorly!!

I am only a week in and feeling 3rd the worst so far but think my 1st trimester was pretty good compared to you ladies. Waking up more in middle of night, like I have tonight! Tonight it's cramp in my leg that's keeping me up. Oh and the heat!! Usually can fall back to sleep but it's not happening! Always good when you have a busy day at work ahead of you. So glad it's the weekend!!

So that's me 29 weeks today Grin which means 8 weeks left of work. Xx

Lolly84 · 12/09/2014 04:20

Aw and now my little man has decided to wake up with me and have a little dance and a roll around! Don't feel I'm alone now lol xx

binkybunny · 12/09/2014 04:52

Lolly you're not alone, welcome to the 3rd tri 4am club. Honestly I have never been so awake at 3 and 4am so much since I used to go clubbing in my early twenties!I'm also starving now but know the only snack choice is toast and nutella which I am getting fed up of eating in the middle of the night. or I could go bake some cookie dough I batch cooked for the freezer... not sure I can actually be bothered with that though!

weebairn · 12/09/2014 08:13

Yeah the insomnia is ridiculous. Awake from 1am till 4am here, then toddler decides to get up for the day at 5am waaaaaah

Still she has been packed off to nursery now and I have a day off so can't complain! having tea in bed to start :)

weebairn · 12/09/2014 08:14

Having lots of suspiciously period painy twinges and tightenings which are exciting - not regular though - I expect they will go on for weeks yet!

misskgb · 12/09/2014 10:18

Oh weeb you get me excited talking about twinges!! My friend is due on the 30th and she had them all day yesterday- not heard from her overnight yet so not sure if it's come to anything. She's a midwife herself- not sure if that helps her or not, especially with it being her first!

I've not been inducted to the 4am club yet- I'm only getting up once in the night to use the loo (actually, I've not got up the last 2 nights- result!) and am managing to sleep. Apologies that's not what you want to hear!

binkybunny · 12/09/2014 11:04

weeb is it normal to keep getting these twinges? I've had them a few times and DH is adamant each time I'm going into labour. We went for a walk last night and I had to stop every 10 minutes with Braxton Hicks and tummy cramps, I'm only 36 weeks today so DH is trying to make me stay sat down for another week.

misskjb all I can say is Envy Grin

misskgb · 12/09/2014 15:25

I'm sorry binky! Just reading on my baby centre app: If bad dreams, headaches or hot flushes are disturbing your sleep, you could be suffering from low blood sugar. Try eating a light, but high-protein snack before bed (scrambled egg or beans on toast or a peanut butter s/w) but don't eat too much or just before bed as it can bring on heartburn and indigestion
