Hi ladies,

What a wonderful morning. Scan went well, baby was waving and kicking lots.

We are having a.....boy. I have 1 very happy hubby.

H I go to Jersey Sun-Wed and then Spain thurs-thurs. Can't wait for a little break. Just working from home today making sure all my work is done :-).

Will you find out what you are having H?

X

Lolly84 · 11/07/2014 12:05

Oh and does anybody have a list of who is having what gender wise? I have lost track xx

mrshjb · 11/07/2014 15:06

Awww great news Lolly, congratulations on your little man :) I'll definitely find out what I'm having. If my memory is right:

Kiki, weebairn and mrsb aren't finding out.

binky and misskgb are having girls.

Lolly and Lady are having boys.

Me and Chilly are too soon to find out but I don't know if Chilly is finding out or not!!

Holiday sounds fantastic. And it'll be lovely to go and see your Niece I'm sure!xx

Hello!

Sorry, work has been MANIC. I'm 18+5, scan is on 23rd and I'm afraid I'm going to be keeping everyone, including myself, in suspense until baby arrives!

So glad to hear your scan went well h!

Lolly - yay! A little boy, congratulations!

Well there is no denying it anymore - I have a bump. I've finally invested in maternity clothes and I'm so pleased I've done it, so much comfier! I'm exhausted because work is just non stop and I'm not getting a great nights sleep as I'm too lumpy! Going to get a pregnancy pillow I think, I need something to help me sleep. I've never slept on my back before yet now, when I'm not supposed to, it's the comfiest position. Envy

We head off to Spain on Wednesday and I cannot wait! I really, really need this break.

Sorry for such a quick message - I promise to catch up with you all properly soon. Really hope you're all ok Smile x

Lolly84 · 11/07/2014 18:14

Whoop whoop that's my out of office on and to do list done. It's holiday time lol.

Helen do you have any strong feelings of pink or blue? You are so good at keeping track of everyone.

I feel completely different now I know, it's a really lovely feeling.

Nice to hear from you chilly, might see you in Spain lol. On the clothes front I am struggling. My clothes don't fit, the size above is too big and the maternity clothes in my size are too big. Grrrr x

Ladymillion · 11/07/2014 20:44

Hey everyone, feel like I've been out of the loop for a bit; life is MANIC right now! We've been in the process of buying a house for months now and we're finally getting to the last stages (hopefully!). So we're living out of boxes and having to squeeze past said boxes which are scattered and stacked all over our current home!

Just read back a bit... misskgb yep I read about the pelvic alignment during pregnancy and have been trying to make sure my legs are in line with my pelvis at all times! The pain is worse at night; when I turn over in bed it feels as though my pubic bone has a massive bruise on / in it! I have been given a number for physio but I can just as easily learn helpful exercises online! Binky just read about your midwife suggesting how to get in and out of the car haha... sounds like just what my doctor said! When is your physio appointment booked for?

It's nice to hear everyone's relationship stories, my fella and I have been together for 7.5 years and we're not married! Yet haha... he proposed to me a year ago on my birthday and I always planned on getting married before children (not for any moral reason - just because I couldn't imagine having actual responsibilities on my wedding day / honeymoon hehe). Then I suddenly developed baby fever last Xmas and here we are! I'm 28 and he is 30. I'm now quite excited at the prospect of a little boy at our wedding Smile

mrsb you've booked your water birth session arrrghhh scary! I am getting more and more scared by the day about labour haha... I have been advised to have a labour ward delivery due to my fibroids... Has anyone else given any thoughts to birthing preferences; home births etc?

Apparently I have an anterior placenta which means it may take longer for me to feel strong kicks, gutted! I have been feeling little thuds very low down when he is laying in the breech position though, it's so sweet! My partner felt some kicks yesterday for the first time too which was so overwhelming that I burst out laughing with pure joy (that sounds so pathetic!)!

H so glad your scan went well, it's amazing isn't it? So unreal haha. I remember I was booked in for when I'd have been around 10 weeks, due to my reeeally long cycles but was advised to phone and re-book as they wouldn't be able to do the nuchal tests. I booked an early scan at 11 weeks as I couldn't wait for the appointment which was at 13 weeks! How you girls have so much patience I do not know but I admire you all haha. And misskgb really happy for you about yours! Massive relief!

Lolly congrats on the news! Baby boy! I can relate with the lovely feelings you're having now; knowing its a boy. For me, I feel like the whole thing is ACTUALLY happening and there's a real live little lad in there! Lovely.

Sorry for the essay everyone, I'll try and keep up from now on to save you all from this boredom hahaha xx

Ladymillion · 11/07/2014 20:49

Currently at 22+4, here's a pic of the baby (and food) bump at 20+6

The 'Umm newbie'/ 'Thread maxed out' lovely ladies!
weebairn · 12/07/2014 06:29

Congrats on your scan Lolly! A boy, how cool. Also very jealous of your holiday, sounds blissful!

Chilli I also went into mat clothes around 18 weeks and felt much better for a while, so comfy! now everything is uncomfy again except my giant batman tshirt I really recommend a pregnancy pillow, it seems a bit of an expensive extravagance but it really does help me sleep. I even took mine camping with me! I bought a secondhand one off ebay because they are £££ and just washed the cover. Also if you want to breastfeed they are really good for the early days, getting in a good position. Enjoy your holiday!

Ladymillion you are brave moving house before baby! Hope all goes well and seamlessly from here. We are hoping to move next year as 2 bed flat is getting a bit cramped even with one mental toddler and there will be two soon. But after baby, I am definitely moving after baby...
Your bump looks lovely!

misskgb · 12/07/2014 13:28

How are you all coping with this heat? I am hoooooooot!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend is coming over today n she's about 5/6 weeks ahead of me so I've decided to throw us a non alcoholicccocktail party. Ive bought lots of fruit & soft drinks. Trying to find some umbrellas for the glasses!! Loungers are out in the garden and sun cream at the ready. Too excited!

I love knowing that I'm having a girl-she's not just something inside kicking away, she's my baby girl! Dh kisses my tummy lots more these days and shouts 'this is Daddy!' at her. Very cute!!

My 2 year old niece lifts my top up, points to my bump & calls 'baby'. My 4 year old nephew said he wants to kiss the baby when she comes out & look after her. The older boys just tell me she's going to get in the way of their football, although because I'm alright at football, they might let her play!!

Love hearing everyones news-keep it up ladies! !

mrshjb · 14/07/2014 10:55

Morning everyone. Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

chilly congratulations on the definite bump!! Bet you can't wait for your holiday as well, are you going for a week or 2? Trying to get comfy at night is so ridiculously hard isn't it. Let me know how you get on with your pillow!

lolly I think it's going to be a boy. Not really sure why but I do for some reason! I'll be over the moon either way though :) clothes situation sounds frustrating. None if my clothes fit me so I'm going shopping tomorrow before I go back to work to try and get some new stuff. Hoping for some dresses to put over leggings so it's not quite maternity but still baggy and comfy! Have you started to think of names now you know he's a he?

Lovely to hear from you Lady, bump is coming on really nicely isn't it! Yeah 10 weeks would have been pretty early wouldn't it. I thought I was going to try and get mine for the end of what I knew was my 11th week but when I got there I was just so happy to get a closer date!! And to be honest it's really nice knowing that I've got another scan next week! It's really helping me with the not freaking out plan. Yeah having a scan is amazing though. Are you planning on having more private scans? Moving house sounds a bit stressful though. I don't even have the energy to make a proper meal at the minute so hats off to you!

weebairn what does your pillow help with? I need something to support my shoulder, hip and stop my stomach hanging in the air or being squashed on the bed because both make me feel sick. It's hard work! When do you get the results of your exams?

misskgb how was your non alcohol party?! Sounds really good :) I am not coping with the heat at all, I'm roasting alive most of the time!!! DH sounds very cute as does your niece and nephew! Have you narrowed down any names now?

Anyone else slightly concerned we've not heard from Kiki in what seems to be aaaaaaaages now?!!!

OP posts:
misskgb · 14/07/2014 14:34

Kiki is just far too busy for us!!!

Oooh the non alcohol party was great and my friend was so grateful to be thrown a party when she was missing out on someones hen do because they'd changed plans to go up town and she just didn't want to be involved in that. We had a lovely afternoon in the garden!!

I've found the fan at work and have it right next to my desk. It's beaut!!

I had a V shaped pillow which helped keep either me laying on my bump or my bump 'hanging' if I laid on my side, it was really good for the few nights I needed it. Could be worth a try!

mrshjb · 14/07/2014 14:58

Haha let's hope so! Aw that sounds good. Can't imagine having the energy to go on a night out for a long time now!

Where did you get the pillow from?

OP posts:
misskgb · 14/07/2014 15:30

My sister, but they're widely available from places like mothercare; argos; toys r us and online stores

I promise your energy levels will rise after 12-14 weeks. I didn't believe anyone when they told me and morning sickness went on til around 15 weeks but since then (although I'm still tired at times, especially in this heat) I'm generally eating OK and have much more energy.

It's all worth it.....so DH keeps telling me when I am finding it difficult!!

mrshjb · 14/07/2014 15:48

I think I'll have to have a look tomorrow. I think the lack of sleep is what's killing me really. I'm averaging 4-5 wee's throughout the night! Probably doesn't help that it's hot so I'm drinking though the night as well, but it really is ridiculous!! Read mixed reviews on whether or not that gets easier?

Yeah I think having the scan made me realise it was all worth it. Before you just feel like shit for what seems to be no real reason!! Will you have any more scans?

OP posts:
mrsb87 · 14/07/2014 18:44

Ooh H I know how you feel with the lack of sleep. It's really killing me now. Luckily I'm on holiday but I've had to have a nap mid morning everyday so far because I'm not sleeping properly at night. Still zombified for the rest of the day even after the nap! I'm wondering if my iron levels are going to come back low.
5 and a half weeks til mat leave, phew!
You can get v-pillows in places like dunelm too. I got mine from a cheapy shop that sells bedding and towels.

misskgb · 14/07/2014 19:57

No more scans for me. Midwife next week so hopefully back to normal after that!

If I remember rightly, I pee'd more in the night in my first trimester. I can get through the night now without getting up but I get up earlier than usual to go loo!!

Don't be put off drinking tho, it helps with everything & later on stops swelling. Just the inconvenience of going to the loo lots!!

Enjoy the hol mrsb!!

binkybunny · 14/07/2014 22:21

Hi all. Had a week away so just trying to catch up, theres been loads of chat on here! Will have a good read and do a proper reply tomorrow!

Ladymillion · 15/07/2014 15:13

Hi everyone! 23 weeks today Smile Just in regards to pregnancy pillows, I've got a Dream genie which has helped my sleeping significantly... It helps to stop me rolling onto my back and it's lovely hugging one side and having the other side rest against my back. Feels like a comfortable cocoon haha.

H I'm going to book a 3D/4D scan for around 27/28 weeks I think Blush I've seen some of my friends' scan pics and they are amazing. I think it will cost about £90 round here. The way I see it, I save more than that each month, just by not going out drinking! So it's an exciting but affordable treat hehe... Looking forward to hearing about your 2nd one!

Sorry for the thousand messages, my phone went a bit weird Confused

binkybunny · 15/07/2014 21:02

Congrats on your scan H and Lolly!

I have read back but baby brain and having it fried with two full on days at work has made me forgwt who said what.

I got a v-shaped pillow for 7 from Ikea. Its great at supporting my back but I toss and turn so much it just ends up wrapped around my legs or on the floor. I cant remember the last time I had a full nights sleep. But I now only have 3 full weeks, 3 3 day weeks and a 2 day til mat leave and afternoon naps - hurrah Grin

Everyone on holiday enjoy, I'm v jealous!!!

mrshjb · 18/07/2014 06:51

Morning everyone, hope you're all well and those on holiday are having a fab time!

Bought a dream genie in the end and think it has helped me sleep the last few nights. Still up 3 times for a wee but that's better than 5! 12+2 today and less than a week to my next scan!

Felt a bit crampy yesterday which worried me. Don't know if it was cramp or lovely gas though! Anyone else had this?

Lady I'm thinking about a 3d scan later down the line too! Love your rationale about not drinking and saving money!

Did you have a good holiday binky? Where did you go?

OP posts:
KikiThePea · 19/07/2014 12:16

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for aaaaaaaages. I will go back through the thread and catch up on all your news!

I was whisked off on a surprise holiday a few weeks ago, which was lovely (and what caused the initial disappearance from here!), but when I got back I was completely wrecked. Had anti-d injection, what feels like 4000 blood tests and the pertussis vaccination all in one week, which led to me feeling rather rough and my GP eventually ringing me about my suddenly depleted iron levels. Thus I ended up on iron supplements, which did not go well.

Went to the pharmacy and bought Spatone iron supplement instead and am feeling much better so back on here and eager to read all about what's happening to you all!

I hope everyone's coping with the heat alright. I haven't slept in days because of it and the oscillating fan is my new best friend! On the plus side we'll be at 31 weeks on Tuesday so it's all starting to feel rather imminent (I blame this on the fact that my friend's first baby arrived last weekend, a whole two weeks early)

I hope you're all well xx

weebairn · 20/07/2014 12:15

I feel ROUGH. Work is crazier than ever. Toddler hasn't slept in weeks I think she is teething or maybe it's the heat. I have fainted a few times and my iron levels are ok so I was just trying to eat more - now I feel sick again like morning sickness is back! Can't sleep, can't eat. Spent 2 hours last night sitting upright sobbing to the cats on the sofa. Whinge whinge whinge. Boyfriend came down with diarrhoea and vomiting last few days too so childcare has been a nightmare!

It can only get better!! Drafting an email to my supervisor saying I don't think it's right I'm working 10 hours straight on my feet with no break or food when I'm 30 weeks pregnant!

Am on annual leave this week (toddler is in nursery for 2 days of it) and may just spend it in bed! I'm really not even that big so I don't know why I'm struggling so badly!

Right that's the whingy entry over… will try and think of something positive to say.
