Mmmmm bitter shandy. I have a little bit of dribble in the corner of my mouth now! Classy as ever!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 30/05/2014 22:17

I've been struggling with what to drink too. I've tried so many varieties of Herbal tea and can just about cope with Blood orange & Cranberry, and Blackcurrant. Used to love Redbush but cant drink it since I've been pregnant! Cant drink decaf tea. Sparkling water is OK sometimes. Tonic is good at times (plus helps with leg cramps) but not always. Decaf coffee sometimes but its SUCH a waste! Strawberry Nesquik helps me drink milk without gagging....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 30/05/2014 22:19

:/ I've totally overdone it and am now getting cramps in my lower back like period pain. Fuck. Tomorrow is gonna be furniture moving so I'm totally fucked. Shit.

PolytheneGirl · 30/05/2014 22:22

Oh yeah, I'm struggling with milk big style but seem to be able to deal with milk that has been on crunch nut cornflakes no problem. Put a tiny drop of milk in my tea and I gag! Very strange if you ask me. Other than that I haven't really had any problems with drinks other than I only seem to be able to get a tiny bit down me at a time.

Oh but there was the peppermint tea incident......vom!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 30/05/2014 22:34

Oh Peace. My sympathies! I know its hard to take it easy when moving but leave the big stuff to other people!

Peppermint tea- cant drink it since I glugged a cold cup by my bedside and there was a large furry LUMP in my mouth. Spat it into the sink and it was a huge dead moth... Bleighh.

Ladylel · 30/05/2014 22:39

Peace I am also moving tomorrow - one thing after the other !

I got my nt results back all low risk and clear, a weight lifted that I didn't no was concerning me!

Question- can we use heat packs? My back is killing me, shoulders and lower, don't want to keep taking paracetamol willy nilly.

Have found pregnancy pillow and sleeping with a pillow between my legs eases any major aches it's just as day goes on... Groan

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 30/05/2014 22:44

Tmi alert - avoid if you can't handle graphic vomit discussion. Grin

After the morning sickness I had with ds, I avoided milk completely until I could be sure I wasn't going to vomit. The taste of sicked up milk is one of the most vile things I've ever known. And it gets up your nose so you can smell it for hours.

Those little cocktail sausages are a close 2nd place.

oohdaddypig · 30/05/2014 23:37

peace good luck with move. Haven't you got a good enough excuse to avoid all lifting?!

My current tipple of choice is a tablespoon of dry white wine in a tumbler full of ice cold sparkling water. It's nice and dry on my yummy tasting mouth. I am actually tee total usually so quite why I'm craving white wine is a mystery. I think it works our as about a glass of wine a week....

Had my 12 week scan today and all well. Feel very relieved and lucky as was v nervous.

pourquoi and hairyspider thanks for making me gag... Twice!

DrewsWife · 31/05/2014 00:57

morning Ladies. im just in from work. one.of the chefs made a stunning meal. one of the benefits of working in a fine food company is that you get fancy meals occasionally and dont get the £60 bill.

i looked at it and wretched. he took one look at me in horror and had to explain i was pregnant. Blush couldnt have it near me. think i offended him. i didnt care i was too busy trying to hold it together. Grin

work was hectic and am glad i dont work until Monday. phew! i have a fair tomorrow and wondering if i can be faffed packing the car and going or just stay in my jammies and rest and make cards.

had an email inviting me to become a member of a design team. they send me card making supplies and i send them pictures. win win!!

DrewsWife · 31/05/2014 00:59

good luck with the moves tomorrow. NO heavy lifting. your heart and lungs are already working harder Smile

ChineseFireball · 31/05/2014 07:19

Can't...keep...up! Grin

Good luck moving house people. Another vote for avoiding lifting!

I don't have anything interesting to add just now I'm afraid so just marking my nauseous place Smile

10+0! Not long till trimester 2...

porsmork · 31/05/2014 09:17

Struggling with drinks too. Water... Yeeaaarggggghhh, awful stuff. More because I just feel full all the time and can't bear the thought for stuff sloshing around in my stomach. Still, ms is getting better at 12 weeks so fingers crossed over the worst.

Anyone else having trouble with bread? Pizza on the way back up was probably one of the worst experiences of my life! Tmi....

Off to see the parents now...eek! Wonder how they will react. Pleased bump is showing a bit today!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 31/05/2014 09:19

Ah the only person who knows I'm pregnant is DH and he's going to try to deflect as much lifting as he can, but my SIL is very "pull yourself together, get on with it" so no excuse will fly with her. If the worst comes to the worst I will just have to tell her today, but then everyone will have to know, and I don't want ANYONE to know for at least a few more weeks!
The pains I had last night really frightened me though and I realise now that if I have a miscarriage I can't comfort myself with the knowledge that "but at least SIL didn't think I was being lazy". This baby is more important than that.

So I'm sitting the hell down until we have to start!
Thanks for the support, ladies

oohdaddypig · 31/05/2014 09:49

peace my go to pregnancy "excuse" is a bad back.

I really would avoid any exertion if you are already in pain. It's none of your sister in law's business :)

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 31/05/2014 10:55

Peace, who gives a rats ass what your SIL thinks- she sounds like a bossy cow anyway! Your health and your baby are far more important than the opinion of someone who obviously has a superiority complex and will always do no matter what you do. Tell her to back off if you need to, and get DH to do the same.

Or duct-tape her mouth shut!!!

tillymonster · 31/05/2014 11:35

When one of my close friends was pregnant, I bought some Monin sugar syrups to make mocktails out of. The Mojito mint flavour is good with lime juice and sparkling/tonic water, the "gin flavour" one isn't so good (just tastes like juniper berries)... Saying that, if peppermint tea makes you retch/vom, maybe mojitos aren't a good idea! I'm currently off all liquids bar slightly salty very-diluted lime squash!

Peace - it's really not worth it to over exert yourself, buy a tubi-grip or something for your ankle/wrist if the "bad back" doesn't work...

ImBrian · 31/05/2014 17:29

14+3 and my sickness has come back :( I've been fine since 11 ish weeks but today I'm sick as a dog!

In other news as I haven't had a phone call about my nt results this week I'm hoping I'm low risk, I'm guessing a letter will be here in the next week or so.

Is anyone else booking a private gender scan? After being told it looked male at the nt scan dp has got very excited and is determined it's a boy. Dp can be difficult a massive twat so rather then leaving him till term and dealing with his possible disappointment then were finding out In two weeks. I'm spending far too long on nub theory sites and even had the protractor out to measure the angle of the dangle!

htbftm · 31/05/2014 17:29

Hello everyone! Just joining at 11+6 edd 14/12/14! I'm struggling with drinks too :-( Settling with water mostly and the odd cup of decaf tea, and a glass of coke if i'm feeling rebellious!
I have my 12 wk scan on Tuesday! Really quite nervous! Did a home test on ic at 3+6 which was +, booked in with midwife at 5 wks and haven't seen anyone since! Sounds ridiculous, but worried the whole things not real!
Good luck with the moves today!

dottytablecloth · 31/05/2014 18:01

brian my sickness disappeared for two days and now it's back with a vengeance. I'm 12 weeks and feeling really sorry for myself.

CatFaceCrayola · 31/05/2014 18:23

We announced the pregnancy to the world today. Feels good and everyone has been super positive! :)

12+6

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 31/05/2014 18:26

Well I made it and I'm mostly intact. She didn't make a fuss that it was her and DH doing all the lifting; at least in a few weeks I can tell her why and how much I appreciated her helping.

More moving of stuff tomorrow but it's little bits now all the furniture is gone. The worst part is going up and down the stairs to the old flat!

Can't remember who else was moving today but hope it went well :)

Pepsiaddict · 31/05/2014 18:31

Hope the house moves went well and welcome htbftm. I've been feeling really wobbly - blood pressure is ridiculously low, and spent the day running about after a grumpy toddler who didn't sleep well due to a nasty cough. "D"H is in the bad books for sleeping on the sofa while I went to the supermarket with said grumpy toddler who had a meltdown at the checkouts, going out for a "walk" aka going to 3 pubs whil, again, I was watching our child and then assuring me that their dinner would only take 5 min prep time, cue dicking around for 30 minutes meaning I had to feed our daughter my supernoodles as she was starving and screaming and couldn't wait for monkfish and veg (which she's also devoured). So much for getting a bit of a break when ill....... Whining over.

littlegreengloworm · 31/05/2014 18:34

I'm nearly 13 weeks and have killer headache.

Tried to sleep it off (no joy, have a baby who needs entertaining) took panadol

Pain is still there :(

PolytheneGirl · 31/05/2014 18:59

LittleGreen not to worry you but headaches can be a sign of high blood pressure. You should call your mw if it continues. Hope you're feeling better soon Thanks

PolytheneGirl · 31/05/2014 19:01

Pepsi sorry you've had a tough day, bloody men! Low blood pressure can sometimes be caused by dehydration so make sure you drink plenty, if you can.
