Miraculous our new LL is abroad too so in theory she could ask to move back in at any time, but I can't even bear to think of that at the moment. We are paying £300 more rent than before, and can only barely afford that because I've got a job now, so let's hope they're kind when I tell them I'll be taking maternity leave in a few months! I do like the house; it's pretty fab to have so much space after being cramped into a one bed flat, but the estate agents are horrible, so I just hope they warm to us when we pay our rent on time every month! Luckily we don't have any students in the area we live, but my hometown was a university town so I know how you feel. And that's so shit about your husband! Fingers seriously crossed he finds work ASAP! What is his industry?

Hi all!

Had scan this morning, was so nervous. All ok though. Strong heartbeat and a super wriggly baby. Took ages for the sonographer to manage to get all the measurements. I ended up apologising Grin One minute the baby was on his tummy, then on his back, then on his side, legs crossed, uncrossed, arms behind head, arms in front of face, stretched out, curled in a ball. It went on and on and on Grin In the end she asked me to cough to shift the baby into a different position and finally she could measure the fluid on the neck and the length of the baby. Due date has been shifted forward to 7th December so I'm now 13+1! Seems like a massive shift from 12+4!

I'm still utterly convinced their dates are wrong as I know when I ovulated but I'm not going to argue - this now means the latest I'll have the baby is the 19th rather than 22nd so a bit further away from Christmas!

Have told a few people, and received lots of congratulations! Feels good to tell people. NT risk results should be back within 7-10 days if high risk, 3 weeks if low risk. Got to book midwife appointment for 3 weeks and then I have 20 week scan booked for 23rd July. Looking forward to going to the next scan with a bump Smile

Great news chilly !

That wedding sounds fab punky . We only have one wedding this year, in the UK and is childfree so my mum can have DS.

Have just ordered There's a House in my Mummy to read to DS as he doesn't get it yet, but willmwhen my belly's a bit bigger (right now I just look fat, not pg!).

10+1 today (or 10w by last mw measurement!) Only 3 and a bit days till scan!

CallingAllEngels · 02/06/2014 14:50

And not forgetting these for miraculous ((hug)) & Flowers

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 02/06/2014 15:02

:O 10 days until my scan! I'm actually more nervous about telling people than the scan itself I think!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 02/06/2014 15:14

Oh and TMI alert but constipation has reared it's ugly head again :/ haven't had it since I was about 4-5 weeks! 10+4 today and back on the vile Fybogel Confused

Chinateacup · 02/06/2014 15:31

Had booking apt with MW yesterday and she's going to refer me to consultant as my last baby was 4650g and so over the 4500g guideline marker for potential gestational diabetes. I know all is for the best, but both previous pregnancies have been easy, two natural deliveries, no tear - just think I'm made to make big babies. Feeling foolish for feeling funny about it but feeling a bit Hmm

LisaC2611 · 02/06/2014 16:16

Fab new Chilly, glad it all went ok.

Question for everyone: reading all the packs they say that you will be vacinated with the flu jab. Is anyone intending to refuse?

The reason I ask is because I don't want it. I have never had it before and whenever anyone in my family have it it brings strange things with it.

Day one of our bathroom re-fit - can't wait to get home tonight and see the progress (oh and to have a bathroom that we can actually use at the end of the week, after 6 months of not being able to use it!) Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 02/06/2014 16:25

Lisa what strange things do you mean? Of course you can refuse it, but if the strange things aren't as nasty as the 'flu, I'd go for it! I always get it but have to pay privately so I'm chuffed, ha!

miraculous2 · 02/06/2014 16:32

Thanks peace and engels

Today is soooo much better. Sorted out reams of paperwork, put some more stuff for sale on gumtree that I don't want to move house again with, had more offers on the car so there's back-up if tonight falls through, had a wee chat with mum, DH made us a beautiful, healthy lunch and there's more rhubarb pie and cream left over! People keep calling me about work stuff but I don't really mind too much. However I do deserve that pay rise because I'm virtually on call 24/7!

Peace, DH is a marine scientist with a geology specialism. He'd love to get into renewable energy. He'd also just love to have a job.

chilly it all sounds very familiar - I'm 13+1 and just had NT scan last Thurs so waiting for those results. I won't be delivering anywhere near Christmas though - said they'll be booking me in from early to mid Nov (twins).

Thanks for the support girls. Was really nice being able to tell mum I'm feeling great today instead of blubbing down the phone how shit everything is!

LisaC2611 · 02/06/2014 17:01

Peace, it made my nan and my mum have a funny turn and we think it was a trigger for my nan having mini-strokes, it also put my uncle in a wheelchair with no movement other than his head and arms for the rest of his life.

I've never had it, although I have been offered it through work but always decline it.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 02/06/2014 17:03

Lisa I will have the flu jab if they offer it (they didn't when I was pregnant with ds but maybe things are different now). However I too am nervous about it as only my mum and grandad ever had the flu jab and they both ended up with flu afterwards (years apart from each other). They wouldn't have it again because of how ill they were.

The rational part of my brain tells me it was a coincidence so I'm ignoring the irrational part!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 02/06/2014 17:07

X-post Shock no wonder you're wary!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 02/06/2014 17:18

Pourquoi they will have caught a different strain of 'flu as the jab only protects you against what they predict will be the most "popular" that season. That's crazy about your family members, Lisa! No wonder you're wary indeed.

LisaC2611 · 02/06/2014 17:23

That's the only thing I want to refuse out of all the tests and jabs they recommend but really am wary about having it in case it does more harm than good. Think I will discuss with mw at 16 week appt and see what she says.

Ladylel · 02/06/2014 19:05

Catface and Bighairy - thanks. It's mainly first thing this morning when I was stretching out i coughed first followed by a sneeze and it's was like I was being jabbed, found knee bending helped but still have me a shock!

Ladylel · 02/06/2014 19:13

Miraculous - snap with the twins, I was originally 2nd Dec but as consultant mentioned its unlikely it will be that date and more mid to late nov. Til we see the midwife on 15th June I don't know what she'll say. With twins it meant automatically under consultant care and I won't see him/her until 15th July which is also my anomaly scan!
Exciting and daunting at the same time, constantly rethinking my birth plan! So much to do so little time!

Ps I have flu jab every year due to asthma I think I had a funny turn when I first ever had it but been ok since, had them every year since they first started doing them so as long as I can remember.
My worst jab was the TB BCG at school 10 years ago, my heef test came up a bit bumpy but they gave me jab anyway and the next day I was horrendously ill. Always been slightly wary of jabs but that's the only one that's made me ill.
Preventative jabs these days are although recommended personal choice, so long as you don't go covorting and stay well away with someone with full blown flu then personally I think it'd be ok to give it a miss. Plus if you have some kind of immunity already surely something gets passed to baby via you anyway.

espa · 02/06/2014 19:51

Miraculous, Scotland had lots of renewable energy jobs...it's lovely up here!

oohdaddypig · 02/06/2014 20:22

The sharp pains when you sneeze are round ligament pain. Totally normal if annoying :) funnily enough they were my first symptom of being pregnant with DC2

I agonised over the flu jab decision with DC2. I don't really like these things either. In the end, I had it. In hindsight it was the right decision, as I had no side effects. I will have it this time. God forbid you get flu in the last few weeks of your pregnancy but rarely it can cause real problems for mother and baby. For me the benefits outweigh the risks. Especially with the awful swine flu strains.

I have however always declined it when not pregnant and didnt get DC done either.

SassehMonsta · 02/06/2014 20:30

Eeks we need a new thread! Il get on it soon when I have PC access unless someone else can, but please find the dec stats link ;-)

Hi ladies
Had the scan today and saw the little baby wriggling with its long arms and legs. I'm quite surprised by how clearly you could see all the little details. I'm now dues on 6th December according to tho scan today which makes me 13+2 today.
I can't have the flu jab as I'm allergic to eggs so it's not an option for me I'm afraid. I had the flu quite badly this year and more than once before i fell pregnant and it made my asthma worse- fingers crossed for the end of the year.
Hope you all have a lovely night!
Sending positive vibes and energy x

CatFaceCrayola · 02/06/2014 20:45

Feeling a weird stretched feeling (best way I can describe it) both in my belly button and underneath my mini bump/fat belly.

any suggestions?

13+1

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 02/06/2014 22:13

Scan tomorrow for me - I'm bricking it. Really really nervous. Especially since I've had no sickness and had funny cramps for the past two days.

CatFaceCrayola · 02/06/2014 22:18

Fingers crossed for you bighairy
