Congrats panic! Hope you're enjoying cuddles with your little boy. Does he have a name?

ElizaB3 · 10/06/2014 13:43

Anything to report, anyone?! It's unnervingly quiet here...

MrsBon · 10/06/2014 19:10

Yup was hoping to hear more baby news!Grin 38+6 today.. And no signs of labour yet.. Confused Trying hard not to get impatient! Anyone else feeling the same?

Mitchell2 · 10/06/2014 20:36

39+1 today.... Don't think baby is coming anytime soon! Thought was going to be pre 40 weeks but now think I am going to push 42 Grin

misshoohaa · 10/06/2014 21:22

I wish I had an update but alas NOTHING is happening apart from being brutally uncomfortable!

39+5 today and nothing yet.. SCARY!

BaldHedgehog · 10/06/2014 22:23

Congrats Panic, enjoy your beautiful bundle :)
38 weeks yeasterday so any day might be the last one.Feeling a bit sad as this is our last child and I'll miss my bump (not miss being uncomfy).
Has any of you tried to bring on the labour?Asking because last time I got to 42 weeks and now I'm wondering whether pin down DH,get raspberry leaf tea or take a bath with cleary sage I'm not taking castor oil

Stacks · 11/06/2014 07:00

37+6 today and nothing to report at all. Thinking of asking for a sweep from midwife at next appointment. Really don't want to go overdue and have a section. Though I'm not sure sweeps really work either. :(

BaldHedgehog · 11/06/2014 07:32

Stacks, you cervix must be "favourable" for a sweep. Mine wasn't with DS, it was high, hard and closed so mw didn't want to do the sweep as it would only cause me pain.

Notfastjustfurious · 11/06/2014 07:45

38+3 and still pregnant. Trying to forget about it and assume I'll be having the cs in 19 days time. Toddler is in nursery today so planning to get loads done in the house and the sun is shining, happy days.

misshoohaa · 11/06/2014 07:45

Baldhedgehog (what a name!) I went into labour on my due date with DS1 and used a heap of things, no idea which was the key although I would say visualisation most likely.

Sex with orgasms!
Raspberry leaf tea
Pressure points - you tube had videos
Walking
Pineapple
And visualisation, there might be some stuff online but basically if you have a bit of peace and quiet close your eyes and imagine your cervix, and picture a jug of water being poured over it (I think this represents a hormone) and your cervix slowly opening. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Although there is probably plenty of other things you could visualise but that one worked for me. Basically anything that is a picture of your labour starting.

I've got a busy weekend with my DS's birthday so hoping things hold off till after then, bring it on as of Monday, more than ready!

Just checking in 39+3 and no baby yet. Had a session of reflexology today and bouncing on my ball.... hoping that she will arrive at the weekend Grin.

how is everyone else doing?

ElizaB3 · 12/06/2014 22:46

40+4 tomorrow. Thinking it will arrive during the England game just to annoy its Dad! How was your reflexology session? How long was it?

Mitchell2 · 12/06/2014 23:00

elizaB3 reflexology was only 30mins. Was done by a Chinese Dr. Not sure it actually works to be honest, but given the heat and my poor feet swelling it was well worth the investment as it sorted the swelling and was nice and relaxing.

Now just bouncing on my ball trying to get her to further engage. She was 1/5th engaged on Wednesday so at least she is heading in the right direction!

Redcliff · 15/06/2014 05:19

Just catching up - congrats to the new mummies and I am delighted to say I count myself in that number - had my yet un named baby on Monday . Fairly long labour but so worth it. Good luck to all those waiting.

BaldHedgehog · 15/06/2014 08:52

Congrats Redcliff :) , enjoy your beautiful baby!

wispaxmas · 15/06/2014 10:22

Baby news!

I had my (not so) little girl on Tuesday. Bit traumatic with a bad postpartum haemorrhage of nearly 3 litres, so house-bound and very tired, but she's perfect and healthy and amazing Grin

ElizaB3 · 15/06/2014 10:53

Woohoo! Congratulations Redcliff - did you have a boy or girl?
And Wispa, hope you recover quickly, newborn cuddles should help!
I'm still waiting... who else is nearly there?

Stacks · 15/06/2014 14:00

I'm still waiting, 38+3 and tired. I kind of can't wait to baby, and kind of think it'll be hard work and I should leave her in there as long as I can! Got a elcs date through for 7th July, which'll be 11 days overdue. I'm kind of expecting the section really, much as I'd like to avoid it.

Hope you feel better soon Wispa, did they give you a transfusion or anything after the bleed? Must be hard to have the newborn tired plus blood loss tired. Take care of yourself.

Redcliff, congratulations. Do you have a few names to chose between, or still nowhere near? DH and I have a current favourite name, except DH isn't totally sure on it. He's hoping to find something he likes better. I think it'll be a delivery room naming for us :)

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend. We're visiting the IL for a joint Father's Day and double birthday celebration (MIL Friday and me Monday). Just trying to get a tired DS to nap, but he's so far refusing.

BaldHedgehog · 15/06/2014 15:04

Congratulations wispsxmas :) wishing you speedy recovery steak, stout and spinach are your friends to rebuild your blood supplies
Please make sure somebody prescribes you iron tablets, as they "forgot" mine ( hospital thought GP would do it, GP thought the hospital had given me some)
Stacks, why your section is so late? It looks like they're hoping you'll go into labour yourself!
Enjoy your family celebrations :)

Panicmechanic20 · 15/06/2014 17:12

Red cliff and Wispaxmas yoo hoo congrats!!! Fantastic news.

My little man was readmitted into hospital this week with bad jaundice and spent 36hours under lamps but is much better now apart from he sleeps all day (wakes for feeds) and doesn't want to sleep at night apart from in our arms - really can't remember this from my DD!

All those waiting good luck x

CleverOl10 · 15/06/2014 17:29

Panic, your little one sounds like mine! We had three sessions under the lights and he was always awake all night but sleepy in the day. He's now nearly five weeks and the night sleep thing is starting to settle, if that gives you hope!!

ElizaB3 · 15/06/2014 21:12

Stacks how come you got to 16 days over last time, did you not want to be induced? Has anyone got experience of holding off an induction?

Does everyone get given iron tablets or just if you've lost a lot of blood?

Glad your little ones are doing well Panic & Clever; is anyone up for starting a postnatal June thread? (If I ever get there!) there's already one for July!

wispaxmas · 15/06/2014 21:41

Stacks, yep, had 2 units of blood transfused, then my hemoglobin levels were still just 7.8, so had another two units.

Bald, I have my iron tablets and am taking them religiously along with my pharmacy of stuff the hospital gave me.

Panicmechanic20 · 15/06/2014 23:02

Oh Clever that goes give me hope! It's what I needed to hear. Did you end up having to hold him in the night? We are having to pick him up a lot and everyone keeps on saying ''don't create a rod for your back!' But he is so tiny... And can't remember what worked fir DD

Yes defo up for a post natal thread - shall I start one?
