Feeling really anxious today... Hoping my Harmony results might come in early (they did last time, well the result that it didn't work anyway!).

We are going to a wedding this weekend, and I think I'd be able to enjoy it much more if I knew what's in store... Plus, we are stopping at the PIL on the way, to drop off DS who will be staying with them. MIL has strong views on termination etc., and I really don't want to discuss this all with her Confused

Finger crossed for both of you today. The waiting is just the worst. One hand each for both of you and a foot to kick jbrds MIL if and when required

squizita · 11/04/2014 10:55

FX for you both.

Yay! Good news bugs!!

So my letter arrived. 1:760 so low risk for downs. About to analyse all the different components. Know I shouldn't but can't help myself!

JBrd · 11/04/2014 12:16

Fab news, bugs Now you can have a relaxed weekends!

fedup That is a good result! It translates into a 0.13% chance for Down's, which is brilliant!!
But I understand the need for analysing the details... Just don't work yourself up about anything.

TaytoCrisp · 11/04/2014 12:40

Great news all around!

bugs great to hear the scan went well and u got to day hi to the little one!

jbrd that is just brilliant. I don't know what age u r, but I was told it was 1:94 if u r 41 giving birth. 1:760 is really low! U must celebrate now after the tough waiting period!

fedupofrainydays · 11/04/2014 13:01

So my papp - a is below normal at 0.47 and hcg at 1.67. From my reading they are low for 0.47 but just below 2 for hcg which indicates a concern. Tempted to phone up and ask but am I just being ridiculous. Read low papp - a (below 0.5) isn't great.
Sorry jbrd you prob don't appreciate me banging on about this when your risk levels were substantially higher. Sorry lovely x

fedupofrainydays · 11/04/2014 13:03

Tayto it's me with 1 in 760 chance. I'm 32 (will be 33 at EDD) so age not really a factor yet with me! With ds (I was 29) it was 1 in thousands. Just wish I knew all the diff scores but was so ignorant back then.

TaytoCrisp · 11/04/2014 13:04

rainy did they not give u a ratio? Hard to interpret otherwise. I had slightly low Papp-a and slightly high something else. Risk for me is 1:77.

fedupofrainydays · 11/04/2014 13:07

No ratio - letter just said 1 in 760 chance of downs at birth. But nothing about the other screening test as downs was the only thing screening for.

TaytoCrisp · 11/04/2014 13:08

Ur a youngster rainy! X-post with above... Sorry getting mixed up here today! In a waiting room and not fully concentrating.

fedupofrainydays · 11/04/2014 13:16

I don't feel it sometimes round some people with 4 kids by the time they are 30! Think I'm going to ring screening mw any way for peace of mind. Or will be wondering until 16 wk mw appt

fedupofrainydays · 11/04/2014 14:29

Ok, so phoned screening mw and she was very kind. She was not worried about the low papp a so I feel a bit better. I'm going to put this one aside for now and will no doubt be a jibber ing wreck again near to 20 wk scan (mines at 21 weeks to make it worse!!)

TaytoCrisp · 11/04/2014 14:48

Rainy 1: 760 is really low, though i can understand that you would prefer to be up in the 1000s like before...

JBrd wonder if you could just call them today, in case there is any chance they have the results for you and they just have not got them out for you. Such a tough wait now. MIL will just have to restrain herself at the weekend... or will get another boot from this direction (along with rainys!)

squizita · 11/04/2014 16:21

The risks can be really random - age influences trends but by no means every case. I'm 35 and they gave me as close to 'no risk' as they'll go, and when I was talking to a friend with 2 she got a lower risk on her 2nd than her 1st.
1/760 is a solid low score though!

Fedup, if it's any consolation, unless you wanted a CVS or amnio, nothing else can be done in the way of testing, the 20-week scan is the next testing milestone.

I have a couple of websites with good information about the combined test components, but can't link at the mo, as I'm on my phone. But they wouldn't tell you much more than you know already anyway Wink

No results yet, didn't get round to calling them either. Ah well, I need to be patient Confused
PIL are lovely, didn't have to worry, no probing questions or awkward discussions, they are keeping to themselves. Phew!

Now I need to find a dress that still fits me to go to this wedding, argh Confused

Keep a grip on that fear bugs don't end up like me last week!

Woke up this morn not really feeling pregnant - so was either "this is the elusive 2nd trimester energy surge" or "shit, something's wrong". Didn't last long though of course when got excessively tired and sick this pm. Still find I'm relieved when I feel awful - it's weird wishing sickness and nausea and extreme tiredness on myself!!

squizita · 13/04/2014 17:46

Bugs hope you're having a relaxing weekend!

Jbird hope yours was good too... Fx they arrive for you tomorrow!

Fedup having a similar "I don't feel pregnant enough" thing today. Didn't have any feathery feelings since about 7am, got all worried even though I KNOW bean can swim around without me feeling it. Got myself all worried as I had a big sudden poo yesterday and have convinced myself it could have done some harm... No vomiting or fever, just overdid the antis constipation fruit most likely!
So annoying... I know movements at 17-20 weeks will be random, but I'm pattern spotting despite myself!

...oh, have had some feelings last hour. Pessimist in me says "_pah, wind" but tbh it is really hard to tell at the best of times!

Yeah Bugs but I am worried I felt them more yesterday less today.
I am convinced a problem... But know the doc/mW won't do anything at this point.

squizita · 13/04/2014 19:39

Just rang MW who said "18 weeks, so small it can move right to the back and you'll not feel it." She was very unconcerned and said to start counting 22-4 weeks. Phew.
