Topmammy, doesn't sound like BH to me either. BH is just a tightening of your uterus, so your belly goes hard for a bit. They don't hurt, although can get quite intense towards the end. Pregnancy has all sorts of strange aches and pains, but definitely speak to your MW about anything you're worried about.

HippyJess · 31/03/2014 11:37

Is that what's known here as "knitting needles up fanjo syndrome"? Because I have that and have been told it's round ligament pain of your pelvic muscles relaxing/stretching...

duzzlightyearsmum · 31/03/2014 13:04

I'm a bit late checking in this time cos DS has been poorly and now i am poorly but my stats are

EDD 3rd September, team yellow

Currently lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself as I have picked up a horroible a stomach bug from either my DP or the nursery I work at!

Xxx

Has anybody else got a 16-week midwife appointment this week? Mine's tomorrow and for some reason I'm as nervous as I was about last scan!?

Thanks for updating rockin Smile

whiteblossom · 31/03/2014 13:41

Afternoon all, my 20 week scan is 23rd april so just over three weeks away, I can't wait!

Cindy5389 · 31/03/2014 13:42

inbl00m my 16w appt is today at 15.10. First time I meet my new mw so slightly nervous. Hoping I get to hear hb as it's been ages since scan. Is anyone else finding the big gaps between the appointments to check baby is ok horrible.. Morning sickness finally gone yay! Starting to feel more normal and am starting to last til my normal bedtime rather that 8.30-9pm that has been the case the last few months.

lilone1234 · 31/03/2014 14:11

inbl00m and Cindy Had my 16 week appointment last week but was with a consultant rather than midwife (due to having high BMI so concerns over big baby and gestational diabetes). Consultant had no people skills whatsoever and so ended up really winding me up, I think with a midwife it would have been much better. They should do your urine and blood pressure, listen to heartbeat and have a chat.

I was very nervous too and also think the big gaps between check ups are very hard to bear. I think it's because (especially if its your 1st) there's not much to really convince yourself that it's happening and there's no way of telling if everything is ok before you get a bump and movement and such. I've heard it gets better!

Thank goodness! You've just described a feeling I get that I thought was unique to me! Glad to hear its normal and nothing to worry about Smile

Cindy5389 · 31/03/2014 16:04

Congratulations kicks! Just got back from appt. heard baby's hb :) this mw seems much nicer than the last one. She said the last 3 Appts have all had the same due date! How strange.. Count down to 20w scan now.

lilone1234 · 31/03/2014 16:14

Aww congrats kicks!

rockin20s · 31/03/2014 16:33

oh congrats!!

lucidlady · 31/03/2014 17:01

Congrats kicks!

TheOnlySeven · 31/03/2014 17:19

Congratulations kicks lovely news :)

I've got my 16 week appointment with consultant on Wednesday. I'm consultant led due to high BMI and 3 premature labours. It annoys me a bit though, I had PE in first pregnancy, but 2 perfectly healthy pregnancies since. The premature labours isn't really an issue because as it's always after 35 weeks they don't try to stop it. I'm declining the GTT though, I had it with DD2, despite the fact it's procedure to have it with a high BMI the MW didn't understand why I was there when I said I hadn't had a big baby previously.

bugoven · 31/03/2014 17:32

Congratulations kicks that's so exciting! I am waiting for my OH to collect me for my scan then I should be able to update on team colour if all goes well.

Glad your appointment went well cindy.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

whiteblossom · 31/03/2014 17:34

Congrats kicks!

A friend of a friend knows Im pg and offered to give me some baby toys, which I gladly accepted. I saw her today and she said she had two black bags full Shock so I went and collected them (I offered her money to which she declined). I just been through the bags and erm its it lovely that she thought of me but its all going straight to the charity shop, its all beyond tired and er mostly tat. Blush most of which was chewed to death or stained! Another friend offered me her used baby bottles...is it me or is that just ew?

I think I need to start declining offers Grin I feel very ungrateful...Blush

BooSurprise · 31/03/2014 17:35

Yay kicks

Inbl00m · 31/03/2014 17:45

Congrats kicks!

Really happy it went well Cindy! My 16-week appointment is at 15:00 tomorrow. Still so nervous. The gaps between appointments have been one of the hardest parts for me lilone - can't wait to be able to feel obvious movement, though I swear I've felt some while sitting still of an evening. Anybody else had that at around 16 weeks?

TheOnlySeven · 31/03/2014 17:48

white it's amazing what some people think is acceptable to give away. I was given some toddler girls clothes from my sister, most were stained, some even had holes in and buttons broken or missing. I won't even use DD2s old bottles for this baby, some things are just nice to buy new.

kicksandgiggles · 31/03/2014 17:55

Thanks everyone Smile

I am a bit worried as there was a bigger difference in size between the two babies than the previous scans, but they weren't concerned enough to send me in to the consultant straight away. My next appointment with him is on Friday, so we'll see what he says. Growth issues are exactly why they will be monitoring me so closely, so I can't help but worry a bit.

CumbrianExile · 31/03/2014 18:27

Congratulations Kicks.

Whiteblossom Used baby bottles? I am with you on that one. I am happy to accept most things second hand, but used bottles is just odd Hmm

topmammy · 31/03/2014 18:35

Congrats on being team blue kicks, and thanks kicks and seven for confirming my odd feeling isn't likely to be BH. Jess* Loved your description of knitting needles up the fanjo hahaha! It is a good description, glad I'm not the only one though. It's not bothered me much today thankfully.

I'm starting to feel poorly, itchy throat and tired. Work is stressing me out which is not helping! (It's parents evening time! It will be weird being on the other side when I'm a mummy!)
