Reflux hasn't kicked in yet and I'm so glad! Sitting with a cold alcohol free beer which isn't that bad actually but I'd love a glass of wine.

Decided it was time for some new bras today and had a little shock at the new cup sizes!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 18/04/2014 09:49

Hey ladies Easter Smile
Hope you all have a lovely easter!! Easter Grin xx

Missingcaffeine · 18/04/2014 12:47

Happy Easter everyone!

I gained about 5kg in the first trimester - from eating carby junk like crisps a lot due to the nausea as it was the only food I could face, and ate a lot of it, as nausea would go for about 10 mins after eating!! Thankfully I think weight gain (well at least fat gain) has slowed, as I'm able to eat more healthily again now.

I did have a very tiny glass of wine last weekend. Is that really bad? It's the first drink I've had. Has anyone else done this?

I have a really really early 20 week scan a week today (I'll only be 18+6 at the scan). Basically they had run out of appointments within a week of 20 weeks (which are the guidelines). The professionals I've dealt with so far this pregnancy have been great, but the organisation and admin has left a lot to be desired.

mummytobe try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes these tests just cause more panic than they are worth, as statistically the likelihood is massively in favour that all is completely normal.

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? And nipples have gone really dark this week. I'm still managing to hide bump in certain clothes - still not wanting to advertise it as so new in job (just finished week 3) - although boss knows, I don't want my whole team to know until as late as possible.

lilone1234 · 18/04/2014 13:24

missing I think your scan date is fine - from what i've read/heard the anomaly scan is routinely done between 18 weeks and 20+6. Mine was 19+0 and don't think I could have waited longer!

Completely struggling to sleep - can't remember the last time I slept through without waking during the night and now I probably won't be able to for several years! I have a pregnancy pillow which does help but I still can't stay on my left side all night and i've had problems with my back so it's a lot of bother turning over in the night!

And I think it's totally fine for you to have a small glass of wine!

Newlywed2013 · 18/04/2014 13:32

Eeeeekkkkk! Half way mark today! Can't believe I'm 20 weeks! The time is going quick!!!
With my HG I lost a 5th of my body weight and I am now back to my pre pregnancy weight so all is looking good! I cannot wait to see baby spoon on Wednesday! Just wish I was not working all weekend :-(

cookielove · 18/04/2014 14:13

Hello all, argh everything is a mess at the moment! Wish I could pick my self up and run away!

topmammy · 18/04/2014 14:30

Aw cookie what's made you feel like that?

Just bought our nursery furniture from Mothercare today. Exciting Grin! First big thing we've purchased. So now baby has 1 swaddle blanket, 1 dress, a wardrobe, cot bed, and changing dresser unit. Just need an actual nursery rather than junk room to put it in now!

rockin20s · 18/04/2014 14:57

DH is getting very funny about buying stuff!
i think me cleaning out the babies room (to make way for all my future shopping) has freaked him out. i have bought so little so far.
argos has a sale on and the travel cot i want is half price. told DH i was buying it and he said ok but thats all for a while!

Im not goign to go mad and spend a fortune but if i see something on my list that i know i need and its at a good price (in sale or second hand) i will buy it rather then waiting till im about to pop and then rushing to buy the things i need

cookielove · 18/04/2014 15:22

top before I fell pregnant (accidentally) dh told me he didn't want to ttc anymore, had changed his mind. We almost split up, but found out we were pregnant so decided to try again. But it feels like he is pulling away from me still and I don't know what to do!

topmammy · 18/04/2014 15:59

rockin The nursery furniture me and DH bought today was in a sale so as we knew we wanted it, we decided why wait and then have to buy it full price later. So i'm with you on that one! It makes sense. Certainly don't like the idea of buying these things when I am feeling proper huge and waddling around either!

I think some men are just a bit funny about spending money lol. DH was still trying to direct me to the cheapest options this morning! We haven't gone for super expensive, just middle of the road really. We got the Summer Oak Mothercare nursery furniture.

Aw cookie I can understand how your situation feels stressful! I bet when baby arrives though your DH will fall in love with him/her! I'm no expert but i'd try to keep things as calm as possible at the moment and see how things are after baby has arrived :)

Cindy5389 · 18/04/2014 16:36

Happy Easter everyone!

Scan is a week on Monday so counting down the days. I'm not sure if I have felt kicks yet so am slightly apprehensive about it if I'm honest.

I have been having really bad pain at the top of my leg left, kind of in my bum cheek if that makes sense. It hurts more when my weight is on the other leg. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm in agony when I walk. Not sure if I should go to doctors or not.

topmammy · 18/04/2014 17:17

Sounds like your sciatic nerve giving you jip there Cindy as I'm pretty sure that nerve starts in the bum cheek area and goes down the leg. I think a physio or a chiropractor could help to relieve the pain. Worth a try certainly especially if you're having trouble walking.

whiteblossom · 18/04/2014 18:01

Cookie huge hugs, it cant be easy. Is there any way to have a chat and maybe clear the air, find out whats going on in his head? Did your dh say why he had changed his mind?

Ive managed to get some shopping done today and walk the dog. Im looking forward to buying a much needed new sofa tomorrow Grin DH is still working on clearing out his mancaveoffice- bless.

Hi all! Anyone considering a doula - either birth or postnatal?

Inbl00m · 18/04/2014 21:58

Katharine I'd like a doula and have read/heard all sorts of good things but slightly worried my mum would be offended. She was my sister's birth partner for her children and the first thing she said when I told her we were expecting was 'I'm going to have to be there!'. We have a great relationship but there's no way I'd want her in the room on the day Hmm

ilovemonstersInc · 19/04/2014 08:57

Cookie I know its a little different but I found out I was pregnant after I did a test at 9pm one night. That night dh was talking to my dad about how having 2 kids is lovely and he did not want a 3rd.

whiteblossom · 19/04/2014 12:50

Hey everyone, Im feeling that I look fat and huge not pregnant today and I hate it. 20 weeks today and I still look fat, I want to embrace the bump!!
Ive had to buy a maternity belt for my jeans as I was walking round with the crotch half way down my thighs Grin and not in a down with the kids kinda way (I always want to hoist them up when I see the lads with the crotch down by their knees and pants on show hehe)

Ive got to stop eating biscuits and cake!!

cookie how you doing today?

Anyone got both very dry and spotty skin? I have to wear foundation and the moment and its really showing up the dry patches. So yesterday I gave my face a good scrub and slapped on some nivea soft-recommended on MN as has jojoba oil in- normally I run screaming from oil but its actually a wax not a oil, and in just three applications my skin is loads better.

Ive realised I cant paint my own toes now, far too uncomfortable.

CumbrianExile · 19/04/2014 15:20

Haha, I think I need to read some of these pregnancy books. I wasnt expecting any BH til week 38ish!

Topsyloulou · 19/04/2014 15:48

Think I may have had my first bh this morning. Wasn't painful as such, just really really uncomfortable. Wasn't expecting to get them this early, hoping it was a one off for a while.

My nesting instinct has kicked in today. Have already cleaned out the greenhouse & weeded the patio. Just contemplating which outdoor job to tackle next. Have a long list of inside jobs for tomorrow when the weather is rubbish including packing away all my clothes that don't fit anymore. Not going to be left with a lot.

topmammy · 19/04/2014 15:51

I sometimes feel like my tummy can't stretch anymore too. Usually after I've eaten maybe a bit too much though Blush Definitely not as much room in there anymore lol. Also sometimes feel a pulling/stretching feeling going vertically in the middle of my tummy but starting at the top under the ribs. Hoping my stomach muscles aren't pulling apart or whatever it is they do just yet! Oh the joys of pregnancy Easter Grin

ilovemonstersInc · 19/04/2014 17:10

All I know is it hurts :(
My back really hurts too.
Might be another uti playing up and thats why im getting them as it can trigger prem labour etc
