ooo If my scan all goes well on Tuesday then i'll make sure to start stocking up! I haven't felt any flutters or bubbles in a couple of days so now i'm worried - not that I ever stopped being worried!

BexBoo12 · 11/04/2014 10:13

Where can I see a preview for baby event? X

BexBoo12 · 11/04/2014 10:33

Morning everyone!
Ooh that sounds good isit will deffo have a look at that, shame my scans not for another 2 weeks though!

Anyone else feeling really achy? I just feel so uncomfortable already and I'm only 18 weeks! Don't remember constantly feeling rough with my DS. How's everyone else feeling?

Our car failed its MOT yesterday which has come at a really frustrating time! We were looking to go away for a week In may but looks like we're gonna have to get a new car as there's so much work that needs doing on it apparently would just be better to get a newer car. As ours is 14 years old!
Still haven't brought a single baby thing yet! I've found a couple of pushchairs I like either from mamas and papas or mothercare so going to try get down there after the scan :)

There are a lot of boys due from this thread I see aswell! Anyone thought of names yet?

topmammy · 11/04/2014 12:29

Just wanted to share my scan picture with you. Can't believe how clearly you can see the shape of her face. The sonographer did a close up of her face too for us, we could even see the shape of her lips, amazing!

I got a leaflet about the Asda baby event too, will probably go and stock up on some essentials. Didn't realise I was signed up to their club actually, but it's probably connected to Bounty who I did sign up to and who send me about 5million emails a day!

Me and DH celebrated yesterday by buying baby girl's first little outfit, so cute! I promise I won't post a picture of every outfit I buy lol. Wink

Pretty stuck on names tbh.... if anyone has got any good ideas of pretty, classic, timeless girls names feel free to share! I never thought it'd be so hard to choose a name. I think I will wait until she actually arrives to make a final decision though.

i have my girl name picked out, Rosemary, for my mom who was named Mary. BUT I can get around the fact that i only want to name my girl that if she is dark haired (like my mom) and not red haired (like me), so i need a back up name in case it s a red head.

boy names i am having alot of trouble with. DH does not like any name i suggest but wont help think of names either, very frustrating!

Dazedconfused · 11/04/2014 14:39

I think our girls name is Morven and boys still a bit undecided but we like Alasdair, Angus and Cameron (quite obvious we are Scottish eh?)

Teabiscuits · 11/04/2014 15:06

We have found that the easiest thing to do with names is to make a shortlist of about 5, then see which one suits when baby arrives. Sometimes you just need to wait and see what they look like Smile .

As we didn't find out the sex for certain last time, my DH's bright idea was to come up with a unisex name to 'make things easier' - typical man!

lilone1234 · 11/04/2014 17:31

topmammy that little outfit is so cute!
tea That is such a typical male thing to say. It's not like it's an important decision or anything lol.

cookielove · 11/04/2014 19:22

We like the name Grayson for a boy, and noname girl!

CumbrianExile · 11/04/2014 19:52

Its very difficult to agree on names isnt it? We have Aidan or Robert (Robbie) for a boy, but no agreed girls names yet, although we are moving towards Abigail (Abi).

Bananapickle · 11/04/2014 20:03

That scan is so clear. Amazing!
Really can't wait til mine now, only 2 and half weeks.
As for names, I think Sophie for a girl and Caleb for a boy, we think. Although knowing us it will change before September.
Tea I quite like your DHs idea!!!

Inbl00m · 11/04/2014 20:18

Banana I misread that and thought you were calling her/him 'September'!

topmammy · 11/04/2014 20:33

I have half contemplated calling my girl August if she arrives on time haha!

cookielove · 11/04/2014 20:54

Ooooh completely forgot we heard the heart beat today! Grin

polkadotdelight · 11/04/2014 21:01

I was going to post here to introduce myself - and I will do when I catch up but I just wanted to say to the welsh ladies that I had my 17 week scan this week and we heard the heartbeat. I'd already asked the midwife prior to this and she said it was routine. Perhaps it depends on the individual NHS Trust?

CoolCat2014 · 11/04/2014 21:13

Polkadot - welcome! TBH I think my MW was being lazy. She didn't do the urine test properly and then told me to take the pot home to wash it. Also got no info on what the anomoly scan was about, had to google it. Not great for me as a first time mum, but hopefully I'll have my usual MW back next time!

Bananapickle · 12/04/2014 07:00

Inb100m Lol - guess it wouldn't be the worst name in the world! A friend of ours named their daughter April because that's when she was born. Good job it's a nice name!!

onehackedoffmuma · 12/04/2014 08:29

Thought I'd say hello... although I'm on the cusp of August/September. Full term due date is 12th Sept but as I'm carrying DCDA twin boys, they are likely to arrive in August.

lilone1234 · 12/04/2014 09:13

Morning ladies - had nightmares last night about things going wrong on the scan, arrgh! I can't help but fret! I also feel like my bump hasn't grown very much in the last couple of weeks considering the baby is meant to be growing so much right now. But that's silly, right??

What's everyone up to this weekend? Hope you've all got some sunshine!

polkadotdelight · 12/04/2014 09:22

Good morning all! Have come back to introduce myself. I must apologise now as I find touch screens very difficult and always make mistakes. I've been posting a little of the Pregnancy after Miscarriage thread as this is my second pregnancy but first baby. I'm 17+3 now with an EDD of 17/9/14, 20 week scan in 3 weeks time and I hope to find out sex then (although the priority is that the baby is ok!).

At the moment I feel huge, I was overweight to start with (size 14) and ate my way through the nausea! I keep googling pictures of 17 &18 week bumps to reassure myself that everyone is different.

I'd like to join in here because we are all within a few weeks of each other so can compare symptoms. Hope you all have a good Saturday!

topmammy · 12/04/2014 09:45

Welcome one and polka :)

I'm on the fence between August and September too one so you're not the only one here don't worry Grin

lilone I think it's perfectly normal to fret about the scan. The day before mine I could feel the tension building in me, then when it was finally time to get in the car to go I kept having to stop myself crying. I was fine once we got to the hospital though and it all turned out fine, then I was on cloud 9! Emotional rollercoaster lol.

No sunshine here right now unfortunately, there was yesterday though, it was gorgeous! I'm going to have a look in town today... I wonder if I will be able to stop myself coming home with another little pink outfit hehe slippery slope now I've bought one I think! Blush
