Just checking in, hoping everyone with worries manage to get them easily resolved..
The sickness has rather starred in earnest now - okay in the mornings but worst during the middle of the day. DS is being very huggy though, which is lovely although he does like to sit on my tummy if I lie down, not for much longer, chum Last time around ryvita, apricot jam on toast and ginger beer (as someone said up thread) got me through to 14 weeks when it all disappeared. This time cheese and grapes seem to be a big win so far but I've gone off all chocolate.

Booking in is at 8 weeks but don't know if they'll try for heartbeat. Dh came with me to all the early appointments last time as he was so excited, but this time might be less of a big deal. Having said that he was wildly excited about the bfp again, I'd better ask him!

alita7 · 27/03/2014 19:19

carmine then apparently about 97% of boys implant on the right side and the opposite for girls :)

Wineandchoccy · 27/03/2014 19:29

I've had my booking in appointment today with a lovely midwife and a student midwife which was great because everything was explained thoroughly. I have rubbish veins so it took 3 attempts to take my blood and a nice bruise is forming. When she sent me for a urine sample my bladder decided to be shy and I could barely fill the pot Blush

They have brought my date forward to the 2nd November from the 15th but the scan will confirm that.

I can't wait for the scan on the 24th April Smile

I have so many leaflets to read in the dreaded bounty pack!

CarmineRose1978 · 27/03/2014 19:32

Wow, really! DP will be pleased! Thanks, alita!

WinterLover · 27/03/2014 19:50

DS implanted on my right

barmybunting · 27/03/2014 19:53

Thanks everyone. Today has felt so much better with less worry after the scan! Actually looking forward to telling parents over the weekend now.

likeaboss and carmine so glad to hear all is well! blamber I'm glad you are feeling better after seeing the gp. If it starts again though, insist on a scan whatever the gp says.

bex thank you! I won't get my scan date until I've had my booking in appointment which is two weeks on wed. It seems they only book the scan here once they've seen you. Hoping it comes through quickly as dh is away with work when I'll be 13-16 weeks and I don't want to go without him. We've cancelled the private scan for next week after today, but he's suggested rebooking for when I'll be 10 weeks to be on the safe side which is tempting. His 30th birthday is week 12 for me, so I'm hopeful it might be around his birthday Smile .

I've just had a fried egg, cheese and ham sandwich for dinner. It was heavenly! I am struggling to cope with food in the evening so bland is good!

How's everyone coping? So glad it's nearly Friday and the end of term soon! I was really annoyed with one of the TAs who support my class today as she launched at me as I walked into class after my scan to complain the work was far too hard for the child she supports and I hadn't planned properly. I finished off the lesson this afternoon without her and the child sailed through it with no problems. More of the issue is that fact that I was moaning about it to another teacher over lunch and the TA was in the cupboard and very likely overheard me. Oh well!

alita7 · 27/03/2014 21:12

grr grumpy with DP, he stole my lucozade (bought two today, 1 for tomorrow as I start at 7.30 and local shops aren't open then) it's the best thing for my sickness at work atm, so naturally I'm gutted as I can't even go and buy one until I've been at work at least an hour and a half, bleugh! He's got a health conditions which can mean his blood sugar drops and he feels ill and needs to top it up so that was probably why, but seriously work is now going to be awful, I just wish he'd told me as I could have gone to the shop on my way home 10 minutes ago :( sorry for the rant but right now it feels like the end of the world!

Amyrose82 · 27/03/2014 21:24

DH is clearly trying to kill me... He made a lovely calzone for tea but the whole thing tasted of washing up liquid! Thought it must be dodgy pregnancy tastebuds at first but no, he tasted it too! Blush Cue a consultation with Dr Google to see if it's toxic - thankfully not, phew! Having chocolate now to try to get rid of the bubbly taste...

blamber · 27/03/2014 21:25

alita, is that my right or the right when someone else is looking at you? I have pains on my right... interesting theory!

blamber · 27/03/2014 21:27

amy, haha, how did he manage that?

alita7 · 27/03/2014 21:36

haha amy that's hilarious!
when i was a teen my dad once did that with those rolls you cook in the oven, he put them In a container off the side, not realising it was the container my mum puts washing powder in, that she'd used the last of that day :p was not happy when I took at bite at school the next day!

blamber it's supposed to be your right. I think ninja is on my left as it looked like that on the scan transvaginals are NOT mirror image apparently. and I feel mild pain on my left side and DP is 'attracted' to the leftof my pelvic area :p
plus with a fizzless bicarbonate of soda test it looks like I got a girl :) well see though!

ElleOhElle · 27/03/2014 22:06

wow, this thread moves fast. good luck to everyone who is having appointments - I still haven't heard anything about booking in / scan.
feeling constantly sick - so horrible. I'm still so scared about mmc or something going wrong with the pregnancy - why can't I just be positive??!!

Annarose2014 · 27/03/2014 23:01

Elle I'm constantly anxious too, and its so irrational! I haven't had a single spot of blood and have v strong symptoms - how I didn't hurl all over my Dad today when he was talking to me is anyone's guess!

DH is being lovely, listening to all my neurotic blathering and making making sympathetic "Aaaawwww...." noises about 20 times a day. I've trained him well!

Work is getting difficult though. Emptying commodes in the sluice is becoming a real horror. Am retching violently throughout and hoping nobody walks in.

Amyrose82 · 27/03/2014 23:15

Hana got no idea - he was gutted though, bless him! So was I, I was soooo hungry and it smelled soooo good - bleugh bubbles!

Elle I know it's rubbish isn't it - am terrified too of something being wrong but had nothing I know of to worry about! Roll on 12 weeks and happy positive scans for us all! Grin

Tigsy · 27/03/2014 23:26

I'm the same with the anxiety- I'd been a lot better and more relaxed the past few weeks, but in the lead-up to my scan in Saturday, I think I've started to get worried again. At least only one more day at work to get through before scan. I think part of my worry is that I've been so excited about telling my Mum on Mother's Day that I've built it up in my head and arranged for them to come over for dinner, etc. Now the worrying part of my brain has kicked in and started thinking 'er, if everything isn't ok, what am I going to do?!' Must try and stay positive though.... Like some of you other ladies on here, I had a previous mc, so my only previous experiences of scans have been negative, which doesn't help....

I haven't been sick today but really struggling to find anything I can eat. It needs to be bland. I randomly decided I wanted potatoes and egg mayo earlier, but made it and only managed a few mouthfuls. DH had some chicken in sauce thing, and just the smell was making me feel sick. Might have to try cheese sandwiches or marmite on toast for dinner tomorrow night- literally can't think or anything else I could stomach at the moment.

MabelMay · 28/03/2014 06:02

Hi all
Totally normal to feel anxious in these early weeks, especially those with previous MCs and also in the lead up to a scan.
I was bag of nerves this morning as had early scan scheduled - my last two pgs were mcs. But - to my relief - all looks great - measuring 8+2 weeks and little heart beating away!
Just want to reassure all those feeling anxious - two weeks ago I was convinced I was losing this pregnancy. But I was wrong. All is great.

Good luck to everyone and their little healthy beans x

booksshoescats · 28/03/2014 07:36

Hi everyone - so nice to catch up a bit - can't believe we're 18 pages into a new thread.

I'm feeling so much sicker this time around - but reading a few sickness-related threads I realise what I'm experiencing is still on the mild side, so I should really shut up and stop whingeing (which I am doing all the time, but mostly in my own head!). And being rational about it, it is quite reassuring.

Tigsy - I think the time you feel most anxious is just before a scan. I'd been fine and then walked into the waiting room last week and nearly burst into tears. Five minutes later, going into the room my legs were shaking. It's easier to protect yourself until the moment when you are actually going to know for sure either way!

Working from home today - back again later!

alita7 · 28/03/2014 07:42

bookshoescats it might seem like we're moaning over nothing compared to people vomiting everything they eat, BUT we do have the right to moan still, feeling sick constantly is still something to be unhappy about! yes I'm grateful that I'm not vomiting (though did a little last night for first time since the heartburn related reflux at 5 weeks) but I'm still feeling awful so I'm glad I've got here to come and vent instead of boring DP to tears.

WinterLover · 28/03/2014 07:43

tigsy I was the same the other week. I was composed until they called me into the room. Hearing the words 'relax, theres the heartbeat' was so comforting. im already starting to get panicy about my 12 week scan and I've not even got a date through for it yet!

Taking one day at a time, im 8+3 and panic whenever I feel 'damp'.

I was definitely less worried and stressed last time, but I didn't realise a) how common MC were and b) how having a child makes you feel.

Fergie11 · 28/03/2014 08:03

Thanks for your post mabel very Reassuring. I have been anxious since my scan on tuesday however trying to stay positive till second scan on the 3rd x

Tigsy · 28/03/2014 10:36

I just want to say how amazingly supportive you all are. I'm so glad I've got this place to come to for reassurance rather than having to rely on DH.
I have to say I was somewhat relieved to find myself vomiting again this morning- felt somewhat reassuring!

bookshoescats I agree with Alita everyone definitely has the right to moan and vent about their symptoms. Also, in some ways the nausea can be much worse than the vomiting. At least throwing up seems to provide some sort of temporary relief! It's the food aversion thats really taken me by surprise. I literally can't think of anything I want to eat and I normally love my food!

alita7 · 28/03/2014 11:00

exactly Tigsy, like I keep thinking I'm about to throw up bit I don't, and I'm wondering If it would feel better to just get it out of the way... right now I'm due to see a patient and I'm sat in the loo unsure I'm going to vomit or not(experience says probably not but just in case...) and when ecer i think its about to come out i just have a massive burp! now it would be harder if I couldn't eat anything at all but still!

how is everyone today? any news from scans etc?

alita7 · 28/03/2014 11:06

also winter lover, im the same about the dampness... I don't know why but I've started leaking just a tiny bit when I hold the loo, in the past week or so, so that worries me as I think it's blood until I check. also I'm getting air bubbles which feel a bit like when there's blood on its way out but there isn't :p

ladydolly · 28/03/2014 11:06

I keep getting my nausea at night! I wake up at 1am, I feel so sick, back and forth to the loo, wake up DP over and over and eventually eat a crumpet even though I'm not hungry and get back to sleep once that's gone down.

I keep reading that sleep is supposed to be the only time you don't get it?? My body (while amazing for growing a tiny person) is totally ridiculous.

Moan on, I'm listening, I'm sympathising, I'm feeling less alone in it all.

Tigsy · 28/03/2014 11:23

Alita that's my biggest problem with work too, worrying about how to handle it if I get bad when I'm with a patient. I was seeing a patient yesterday for a long appointment and I was only about 15 minutes in and it started to feel bad. All I could then focus on was 'how am I going to get out to be sick?'!
