Pffft! I'm still waiting to see my GP!! 8 more days till my appointment! I practically have steam coming out of my ears! I just want to get the ball rolling already!! Angry

Knottyknitter · 24/04/2014 21:49

Do you need to see the GP poly?

Both at work and as a patient round here, you self refer to the midwives via a phone number on the practice website.

Bypassed GP altogether, pretty much nothing to do other than direct to antenatal anyway.

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 21:51

I'll check now Knotty. Thanks

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 21:54

Oh ill look that up too :)

We need some excitement on this bus.
Penis Dragon power :) for many a healthy pregnancy.

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 21:54

Thread I mean...

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 22:01

Gggrrrrrrr my practice's website is shite and mentions midwives/antenatal absolutely nowhere! I'm soooo frustrated!

Knottyknitter · 24/04/2014 22:04

Try the hospital you'd be going to for scans? Reception at the gp should be able to give you the contact number too. I find it really odd you have to see the gp first. I never see people to refer in early pregnancy!

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 22:27

I can't find anything at all useful! I might just turn up at the surgery on Monday and see what the receptionist says. I can't even get through on the phone without waiting for hours. Angry

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 22:28

knotty everyone ive spoken to over here has to be reffered. Isn't it strange how each place is different?

Right... I am not poas tomorrow. Ugh :(

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 22:28

poly sounds like a good idea just to turn up and ask for the forms.

Zermatt · 25/04/2014 00:49

Yes Poly a Christmas baby will mean very expensive flights to visit us, although I don't think our UK family/friends will come out straight away, and as my folks have already booked for Feb, they'll meet the new bub then. It does scare me a tad being so far away from support at home to have it, although am sure it will all be fine and I won't know any different really as this is our first. How are you feeling now? Have the stomach pains stayed at bay? I was woken up by severe cramps the other night, so bad I was convinced it was game over, laid down in the bathroom and they slowly subsided and then I went back to bed, I've been fine since then, so hoping it was normal. All I feel at the moment is queasy in the afternoons and evenings and my boobs are huge and sore, to the point where it's a bit uncomfortable to sleep on my front.

We went on a boat trip yesterday to the Great Barrier Reef, once we got out onto the shipping channel it was like being on a roller coaster, we were banging up and down and violently rocking from side to side, passengers all around us were crying and throwing up, thankfully we were prepared, I was wearing those travel sickness wrist bands and had taken some ginger anti nausea tablets and managed not to be sick. It was an experience!

Treacle how are you feeling now? Are you still testing on the digis? Your SIL sounds like a bit of a know it all, very annoying! I've booked a doctors appointment for Tuesday next week, I should be 6 weeks then, I'm not sure what the system is out here, whether the doctor will bother testing me to confirm or just refer me to an antenatal clinic or what.

Less than 2 weeks now Barmy until your scan! I am sure it will all be fine and on the flip side could be one of your DH's best ever birthdays. When I told my DH about the 12 week scan and that he will need to come he asked "do I have to?" The man drives me mad sometimes.

knottyknitter and Littlebear I've tried Becks Blue and quite liked it, it's good to take away the craving for a beer, would be good to have with a curry :) I haven't given up caffeine but I have cut back to no more than 3 cups of tea per day, and no coffee. So that's about 150 mg a day, so under the 200mg that they say should be the limit. I've given up artificial sweetner though as am sure that's full of crap. Only decaf coffee I've tried is Nescafé Gold Blend, I like it but I'm not a coffee connoisseur so not a good judge.

Sorry for the long post!

Zermatt · 25/04/2014 03:15

Now in a mega stress about exposure to Deet in my mozzie spray :(

barmybunting · 25/04/2014 06:29

Treacle, just a quick message before I try to drag myself up for work- if you are still having spotting and things, sod the gp if they are being useless. I phoned NHS out of hours in tears on the Sunday about bleeding, a dr phoned me straight back and booked an appointment at epu for me for a few days later for an early scan. Wait until your gp is closed this weekend and phone the out of hours line perhaps? My gp had said he would refer me when I saw him but when I asked the epu, he hadn't so I was glad I hadn't waited.

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 07:27

Thanks zermatt, she definitely is. The spotting is gone and cramps haven't been sharp really. Not enough to worry me. Main thing is my symptoms don't seem to be there so much but I'm not doing much in the day but resting so that might be why.

Thanks barmy, I did that last weekend but nobody seems concerned.
If my gp doesn't send me for an early scan Tuesday we are booking a private one for peace of mind.

RetroHippy · 25/04/2014 08:11

Hi guys. Very early days but I'm very excited and DH has gone back to sleep he's that underwhelmed and desperate to tell loads of people!

Birthday bfp for me Grin nosebleeds seem to be my main symptom so far. Lovely.

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 08:18

Hello preggo birthday girl! :)
So lovely to have you here :)
My DH was exactly the same. "So if there's a faint line you're definitely pregnant?" Lol.

Dragon I thought he would be gone by now ^
Littlebear81 · 25/04/2014 08:24

Congratulations Retro!!! Good to see you on here. What a lovely birthday present! Grin

RetroHippy · 25/04/2014 08:26

Yup, DH has said helpful things like, 'we'll, if you're sure,' and 'let's just keep testing to be certain,'

Though in fairness to him he did cry when I first woke him up told him. He thought I wanted to open birthday cards Smile

Boobs very tender this morning too. Blimey, it might just be real!

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 08:35

Aww retro, that's brilliant :)

I feel back to my normal self today. It's a little worrying...

Knottyknitter · 25/04/2014 08:53

Brilliant news retro! Happy birthday!

treacle I wouldn't worry, I seem to be getting most of my symptoms mid afternoon so far!

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 08:54

Thanks knotty :) I'm trying not to worry. Will be having an early scan one way or another so it's only a week til that hopefully.

Knottyknitter · 25/04/2014 10:05

Is the Dragon specially for us by the way?

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 10:18

We thought it was for St George's day but it's still with us :) Dragon

Zermatt · 25/04/2014 10:53

That's fantastic news Retro, mahoosive congratulations and happy birthday :)

Treaclepie19 · 25/04/2014 11:06

Stupid question alert ladies... I'm in the car with my dad. He's not the most gentle driver. We're bouncing over speed bumps. Will Little Bean be ok? :/
