Hi ladies, mind if I jump in? I'm a complete AN thread slut I've been lurking more and more on the April bus to keep up with what's what. Was on the buses March and April and in Sept before mc.

Due 28th December with DC2 and I do like a good penis dragon, honest Dragon

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 21:36

Thanks barmy :) I will do. The sharp pains seem to only be every now and then over the day but I constantly have a pressure in my left side. Sort of opposite where your appendix would be.

Glad your headteacher took it well :)
I'm going to tell mine on Monday. Will only be 5+5 but how I've been feeling I'd rather she knew.

Hi calling :) hehe I love the penis Dragon :)

kurama · 22/04/2014 21:38

choccy just thought id pop on here to say congrats on your little choccy bean! i saw the pic before the thread maxed out :)

Zermatt · 23/04/2014 02:04

Sorry to hear your doctor was so awful treacle they really should take a look at themselves sometimes and understand the importance of a good bedside manner, a bit of reassurance now and then wouldn't kill them! Hope you start to feel better soon.

So glad that your head was understanding and lovely towards you barmy it must be a relief and one less thing to worry about now. What date do you get your scan?

Welcome to the Dragon antenatal group calling and big congrats on your BFP :)

I'm 5 weeks today, enjoying reading my app about the development of the embryo from week to week. We're still on our holiday at the minute, we fly home on Saturday. My parents have booked to come and visit us in Feb next year, I will have to decide when to tell them that they will hopefully be meeting their first grandchild then too, we Skype every week and I'm not sure I can keep quiet for another 7 weeks, plus if the worst happened, I'd want their support and would talk to them anyway. But at the moment I like just us knowing as it's good to get your own head around it.

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 07:31

Thanks zermatt :)
I'm 5 weeks today too!! Baby is the size of a sesame seed :) exciting that it's tiny little heart is forming.

We told our parents for that reason. Just figured we need their support either way :)

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 07:59

Morning all. I'm lay in bed with tummy pain this morning, too scared to stand up as it is the kind of pain I normally get right before I normally dash to the loo to find AF has arrived Sad

WelcomeEngels and congrats again.

Sorry you're having a scary time Choccy. Please keep us up to date with how you're getting on and enjoy your holiday. I can't wait to see a 7 week choccy bean in a couple of weeks.

Zermatt I'm struggling over telling my parents too. I'm only 6wks tomorrow. Where are you on holiday? I'm jealous! Also, just being nosy this morning! where do you and your parents live? It must be hard if you don't see each other much.

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 08:01

Oh no Poly, hopefully it's just things stretching and moving around but keep an eye on it.
Fingers crossed it goes off for you :)

Zermatt · 23/04/2014 08:50

How are you feeling now Poly ? They do say that cramps and painful twinges are normal, what with all the things moving to make way and hormones etc. I know I'm a week less than you but I had quite sharp pains in the side of my abdomen all last week, to the point where I spent a long time googling about it all. Just take it easy. I had lots of AF type cramps.

We are on hols in the Whitsunday's :) we live in Australia, and our families are back in the UK, which is where we are both from. It is hard not getting to see much of each other and I am conscious of the fact having a baby far from home without family support might make things trickier, but we'll play it by ear.

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 09:06

I think I'm ok now, thanks ladies. I've been having cramps since a couple of days before AF was due but this morning I had a dull achy feeling I usually get when it's about to start. I was scared and DH had already gone to work but I'm up now and fed and watered and all is well, thank heavens. I'm just paranoid!

Zermatt how lovely! I always wanted to live in Aus as a kid maybe down to a slight neighbours and home and away addiction You have picked the most expensive time of year for flights to have your baby! My cousin had his first in Sydney then moved back to the uk and had 2 more!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 10:43

That's good poly, glad you're feeling better.
I'm having cramps and feel a bit sick this morning but otherwise don't feel pregnant. Worthing me really as I've had bloating loads and now it's gone off :( never thought I'd be sad about that. Tests are still darkening though. Not that I'm still testing of course...

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 11:14

I'm testing tomorrow morning Treacle. I'm limiting myself to every Thursday as that's when I tick over to the next week. No idea why I'm still testing! I guess I still don't really believe it?!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 11:17

Yeah I think I'm going to start testing once a week. On a Wednesday. Still not showing 2-3 on a digi though.

I think that's it poly, it just doesn't feel real yet. I'm trying so hard to keep grounded in case the worst happens but we're so excited.

Knottyknitter · 23/04/2014 12:25

Ok yesterday, more of a scrape than a bump after all! Today really beginning to feel rubbish though, and not sure where the morning sickness starts and the caffeine withdrawal ends!

Headache and nausea, if I didn't know better I'd say I was hungover!!

Only done two BFP tests though, the original was a digi, (1-2) then a FRER when the battery ran out of the first one, so I still had something "official". Not buying any more. On to the next bit!

barmybunting · 23/04/2014 18:09

Sorry to hear you are feeling a but rubbish today Knotty, Poly and Treacle. I know what you mean about the cramps! Mine have reappeared with a vengeance this week but I find they ease when I rest and drink more, so maybe it's just telling us all to be careful and slow down a bit!

My scan is on 7th May Zermatt, 2 weeks today :). It's also DH's 30th birthday on the 7th so I am a bit tense about not wanting to receive bad news from the scan because of the day as well. Hopefully it will all be ok!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 18:13

Fingers crossed all is well barmy :)

I've barely been doing anything! Had an hour nap today and yesterday too. I don't know how I'll cope back at work next week.

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 19:07

Arrghh! SIL thinks she knows everything about bring pregnant despite never having been pregnant herself. It's driving me mad!!! After my upset yesterday she said to MIL oh that's normal. Grrrrrrrr!

Knottyknitter · 24/04/2014 09:14

Anyone found a decent decaf coffee yet (instant, for work)?

I've started drinking clipper decaf tea, which is pretty good, but need a coffee substitute that doesn't compound the morning sickness iyswim. Still having first cuppa of the day as a real (instant) one, but once I've found a good alternative, I think that one should be able to go too. All the ones I've tried are horrid though, and can't think bumplet likes them any more than I do!

Good job I don't smoke and can take or leave the booze, really Smile

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 09:54

Sorry Knotty I can't really help on the decaf front, I haven't found anything remotely decent yet. I have switched to green tea though I know it still has caffeine but it is less and I think it is helping with my bloating. Might try the clippers decaf tea, pg tips is rank!

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 12:21

Sorry, I don't know about the decaf either :(

I have spent all morning doing school work and am now shattered. So don't know how I'll cope at work haha.

sazzlehopes · 24/04/2014 13:34

I can't help on the coffee front really - Taylors do a good one but it is for a cafetiere... I like the clippers decaf tea (and I'm a tea fiend!!!) and it is good because the don't use chemicals to remove the caffeine. But the other i liked the taste of weirdly round a friends was tetley decaf. I agree PG tips is rank, and so is yorkshire which is a shame as their normal tea is great! I'm also finding becks blue does the trick on a rare eve out or if we have friends round...I feel like I'm joining in more!

PolytheneGirl · 24/04/2014 14:34

Saz I'm so glad you said that about Yorkshire Tea, that's my usual, I'll def give it a miss now! Becks Blue is a good idea but is it nice?

Littlebear81 · 24/04/2014 19:26

Congratulations to the recent BFPs.

I'm with you Treacle on not knowing how to cope when back at work. I'm off this week and have been sleeping 9-10 hrs per night with daytime naps lasting between 20 mins and 2 1/2 hours! I usually survive on 7 hrs max and am fine!

Luckily ms is still staying away so hoping it stays that way. Seeing the midwife for my first appt next Thursday. Hopefully will make it feel more real then!

I've not tried Becks Blue but tried de-alcholised red wine-I do not recommend it! Even splashed out on the wine man from Waitrose's recommendation but it was far too sweet. My DH had a glass by mistake and thought it had gone off!

barmybunting · 24/04/2014 20:04

Although I haven't been able to drink tea since about 5 weeks as it makes me throw up, tetley decaf tasted surprisingly ok until then!

Knottyknitter · 24/04/2014 20:14

I've got home to a big envelope of leaflets from the midwives! Strangely reality checked!

All photocopied leaflets of the same stuff from the trust website, and written confirmation of appointment time etc. so nothing too new or exciting, but still...

Seems such a long time until 27/5 though.

Treaclepie19 · 24/04/2014 20:42

Argh I wish I'd got something from the midwife or even been referred :( can't wait to go back to the docs Tuesday.

Sounds the same as me littlebear!
