Hello all, so sorry to hear about all the shitty surgeries, how awful! poly I would be absolutely fuming. In fact, I am, on your behalf. GAAAH! Is there no way you can speak to your doctor on the phone at another point? Our surgery has a 'speak to your doctor' thing going on during the doctor's lunch break (poor sod...), might be worth asking. How fucking irritating though.

Treacle, how are you feeling today? Re: work, it's always a tough one with teaching, isn't it? We always feel guilty as someone else has to cover for us...but if you're not well, you're not well! I have to say that I am quite grateful for work at the moment simply because it makes time go faster!

Well, just to bring a little positive news: had a BRILLIANT scan today! I am more 5+4 than 6+4 apparently (lost a WHOLE week!!!) but we saw a definite heart beat and all looks well and normal and incredibly reassuring. Phew! So exciting!

barmybunting · 15/05/2014 20:23

Hi everyone, sorry to hear about nonsense from GPs/hospital today.

Treacle, take the time off if you feel rubbish. It's always hard to leave your class to someone else but for your own health, sometimes you just need to take that time off!

Poly, thinking of you and hope you can see someone soon.

Madmoiselle, lovely news about your scan! How exciting Smile. Don't worry about your dates changing slightly at this stage, it is hard to be accurate based on measurements so early on. I was put at 6 weeks at my early scan but I stuck with my original due date, when I thought I was 6+6, at my 12 week scan, they then moved my due date forward by 3 days (which was 9 days more than my 6 week scan would have made me), the midwife said babies will grow at different rates at different times so it's not an exact science I guess.

Not nuch happening here, 14 weeks today and a tiny bump is starting to appear, looks more like too much chocolate though! Grin

fancyacupoftea · 15/05/2014 20:26

Mmmm chocolate.

I wish DH would get me chocolate.

MundayCakes85 · 15/05/2014 22:25

Evening, just catching up. Sorry to hear some of you are having issues. I would say trying to talk to an EPU at your hospital or MW instead of doctor if you're worried. The first 12 weeks go so slowly.
Glad to hear your scan went well Mademoiselle, it's all so exciting.
We had our 20 week scan today and all good news, baby looking lovely and was very wiggly and definitely getting bigger Grin

MundayCakes85 · 15/05/2014 22:26

Here's one of the photos we got

PolytheneGirl · 15/05/2014 22:31

Congrats on the scan Madem. So exciting.

My mw didn't call back. Will try to call her again tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. DH is at home too so that will make things easier.

No more blood, so I'm feeling a little less doom and gloom about things tonight. Just fuming about my appointments and bloody rude women on phones.

Treacle can I just offer my view point. Feel free to dismiss it. If you need time off obviously do take it but if you can face going in it might help to take your mind off it. Plus I once had time off with stress and I found it even harder when I tried to go back to work because I had to face everyone and all their questions. I honestly wished I hadn't had so long off (it was weeks). Obv I don't know the people you work with but the women I worked with then we're the kind to ask. I hope you're feeling better though Thanks

Also really annoyed with my friend. I look after her one yo, 3 days a week for her while she works. This morning her Mom dropped him off an hour late so I missed taking DS to the doctors. Then when she picked him up late tonight told me she had had the day off work and had been shopping to buy herself a birthday present. I could feel the rage rising so I showed her the door! I think I still have steam coming out my ears now. She knew I was unwell. She knew DS was unwell and she dumps her baby off on me while she "had a lie in till 10" and "went for a potter round he shops and had lunch". She better hope my hormones let me calm down by Tuesday or there's no way I'm opening the door!

So if you spot anything on the news tomorrow about a crazy woman taking NHS staff hostage with demands of common decency, manners and several antenatal appointments, that will be me!! I'm just about ready to crack!!

Thanks for all your kind words and support. It's really good to know I'm not being unreasonable and people are being arses!

P.s. Fancy you crack me up!

P.p.s. I'm working on that address!

PolytheneGirl · 15/05/2014 22:35

Wow Munday that's amazing!! Lovely long legs! Did you find out the sex? You must be so happy.

MademoiselleG · 15/05/2014 22:39

Poly, how do you manage to still be hilariously witty when so much shit is happening?!?

I can't believe your friend. How bloody cheeky! Did you say something? I take it you look after her dc for free too?? Un-fecking-believable.

Fancy, did the telepathy work? Share, will you?

MundayCakes85 · 15/05/2014 22:40

Thanks Poly, we didn't want to find out- this is our first DC and liking having a suprise.
Sounds like your "friend" may need a little reminder that you're helping her even when you're feeling unwell. Hormones made me a psycho with DH, I know how you feel! Xx

MademoiselleG · 15/05/2014 22:40

munday I'm on the app, so annoying it doesn't show pictures! Glad to hear it all went well though, hurray!!!ThanksThanks

Treaclepie19 · 15/05/2014 22:46

Thanks everyone :)
Dont feel you have to worry about saying anything Poly, i know exactly what you mean. Im one for always carrying on but i just need the time tk get my head straight. I'm not going to go in tomorrow as I feel worse when I'm there. Going back Monday and the head has been brilliant so I know I'll be ok.

Munday, your scan looks brilliant :)

Great to hear about your scan mademoiselle :)

MademoiselleG · 15/05/2014 22:49

Hugs Treacle Thanks

PolytheneGirl · 15/05/2014 23:09

Yes, I look after him for free as she was really struggling and I'm currently a SAHM and have always worked with young children.

No, I didn't say anything because I could feel the torrent coming! I knew if I let just a little bit out I wouldn't be able to stop!

I'd say she could do with a short sharp smack in the chops, never mind just a"little reminder".

It's days like today I miss wine!

PolytheneGirl · 15/05/2014 23:12

Munday we did the same with DS. It was really nice as DH had the whole an completely original "its a boy" moment!

Treacle I think giving yourself the weekend is a good plan.

Treaclepie19 · 15/05/2014 23:39

Thanks mademoiselle :)

Poly I don't know how you controlled yourself.

I've just got back from seeing Charlie Simpson, my back is sore! Glad I wemt though, now there's something to take my mind off everything!
Do feel guilty though

fancyacupoftea · 16/05/2014 07:25

poly I cannot believe you're friend!! The bloody cheek!!! (On a side note, when I read your posts I do so in my old brummie accent!)

munday that scan is gorgeous!

Got mine later today.am 7+0 today!

sazzlehopes · 16/05/2014 07:42

Poly your friend is outrageous, how unbelievably selfish of her.

Treacle take the weekend, relax, enjoy the sunshine and start refreshed Monday agin hopefully feeling much better x

Hooray on scans madam and Munday. We had a surprise with our first doc and it was brilliant.

Fancy good luck with your scan, and was it you that told me about the BHS bras? If so I bloody love you they are so damn comfy!

MademoiselleG · 16/05/2014 07:49

Good luck fancy, very excited for you!

I had a really, really vivid, weird dreams. I was living in this bungalow and found out from and angry phone call from my dad that his brother and his three sons -my cousins- had sided in some football related riots/fire blaze. Hung up as he wasn't calling at the right moment and I was annoyed. Couldn't decided whether to go to work or not. Decided to go out with all the other bereft people and we ended up going clubbing but it turned out to be a traditional Italian family restaurant. And then I realised I fancied one of my colleagues (who is quite the silver fox...!) and we ended up naked (he didn't...errr...disappoint!) but then I had second thoughts when they showed pictures of my family on TV, which revealed that actually only 1 cousin had passed, so that was ok and I went to work...!!!

I can never look the silver fox in the eye again.

MademoiselleG · 16/05/2014 07:49

*dream

  • his three sons had DIED
Treaclepie19 · 16/05/2014 07:54

That is a bizarre dream mademoiselle! Haha :)
I'm sleeping too deeply at the moment to remember my dreams.

Thanks Sazzle :)

lindamagoo · 16/05/2014 08:30

Amazing scan pic Munday Thanks

fancyacupoftea · 16/05/2014 08:33

Yes it was me with the BHS bras sazzle! Good aren't they?

Sex dreams eh mademoiselle? They're always a good pregnancy side effect. I dreamt that we had a little baby boy with no name yet who was very advanced in communicating - he said 'ow' when I winded him too hard.

I was foul to my husband this morning. I've been asking him to shave for days - it's not a fashion thing, he's just lazy. But it means his face becomes this spiky weapon. He forgot again so I was mean. (Please don't think I'm this weird controlling wife although I am a bit this mace face is just the thing I dislike! We all have something don't we? Go on, make me feel better!)

Treaclepie19 · 16/05/2014 08:36

Haha don't worry fancy, my DH always has a beard but when he has a moustache and it's spiky I get so annoyed.

Spotti · 16/05/2014 08:43

He he, no fancy, I'm not that mean (even with regards to virtual farts!)!

I wanted to say something about leaving behind an item of clothing (a hat or something), but without being specific, it kinda sounded like I was stripping soooooo I decided to re-write my post and make me sound a bit less weird.

Somehow it still didn't work though if you to thought I'd left you with a S.B.D (silent but deadly).

Ha ha ha.

The thought is amusing though...especially with strangers in Tesco.

bet you all can't wait for me to finally get my BFP and come over here to annoy you all full time Wink

Treaclepie19 · 16/05/2014 08:44

Haha I can't, hurry up Spotti Bean! When are you expecting your bfp this month?
