I've sacked off work today!!!! - is that good news?

(But it's cos I feel completely rubbish)

Zermatt · 09/05/2014 09:40

Happy Friday everyone :) nice to know I'm not a lone worrier. My nausea is back, but luckily I'm not throwing up, it seems worse if I'm really tired, which is a pain as haven't been sleeping very well this last week, wake up a gazillion times for a wee. Speaking of wee I also think I might have a UTI so going for a test tomorrow.

Fancy and anyone else worrying about lack of symptoms my nausea didn't properly start til about week 7, and my mum keeps telling me she never had any morning sickness with me or my sister. I think symptoms can vary massively from person to person, so try not to worry.

lindamagoo · 09/05/2014 11:03

I'm feeling rather good today, no ms and not too tired, my boobs have started to hurt a little but not too bad.

Zermatt · 09/05/2014 11:26

How many weeks are you Linda?

lindamagoo · 09/05/2014 11:35

I'm only 4 + 5, but felt awful since last week until today Smile

sazzlehopes · 09/05/2014 13:32

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow! So halfway! Eeeek it's going fast now after the initial dragging.
I think it's totally natural to worry. I worried at the beginning and now will worry again until I have my 20 week scan a week on Monday.... There's always something to fret about hey?!
Finally felt the first movements, but they are not strong enough for my OH or DS to feel yet.

PolytheneGirl · 09/05/2014 17:03

Well I've been for my booking appointment today, which went brilliantly. Really lovely midwife who went above and beyond. She said I should have my scan appointment through in the next few days and it should be in about 2 weeks time.

Also feeling much better today, no nausea, no diarrhoea, no dizziness. I'm counting it as a blessing. Good day all round!

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 17:05

That's great to hear poly :) I'm not sure if I'm leaving mine a bit late... The midwife only does appointments on a Wednesday so ive booked it for half term. I'll be 10 weeks by then though.

fancyacupoftea · 09/05/2014 18:02

I went and bought a cb digi. Not tested in a week on anything so was relieved to see 3+. Very reassuring.

Sacked off going out tonight. Just want to go to bed and really can't be bothered to answer all the questions about why I'm not drinking.

Instead I'll sit and eat CRISPS. Crisps are amazing at the moment.

lindamagoo · 09/05/2014 18:07

Glad your appointment went well and you are feeling a bit better aswell Poly Smile I was at the doctors to get my medicine dosage put up while I'm pregnant and also got treatment for this god awful thrush, it's driving me insane, the doc had been in holiday the past few weeks and almost passed out at how quick I'd fell pregnant, lol

barmybunting · 09/05/2014 18:15

Gosh sazzle, 20 weeks already? Where has that gone? I hope your scan goes well on Monday!

Treacle, my booking in was at 10 weeks during Easter break and the timing was fine, they organise your scan pretty quickly after that.

Fancy, glad the numbers have gone up for you!

So pleased to see Friday here! And yes to the worrying, I am not sure it ever stops!

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 18:22

That's good, thanks barmy :)
fancy glad your numbers have gone up :) mine hadn't so I gave up :p

I'm getting a cold :( and I have to go sit in the rain for 3 hours tomorrow for a school football match. Waaaah!

MundayCakes85 · 09/05/2014 18:54

Sazzle I was really excited when I realised it wasn't indigestion/ trapped wind/ hunger Smile
I've got my scan on Thursday, starting to worry as well. Think the worrying is here to stay for a whole lifetime Grin
It's my birthday Sunday, looking forward to seeing friends and family. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend x

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 19:36

Sounds lovely munday :) hope all is well at your scan.

Is anyone else terrible at taking tablets? I'm really struggling with mine. I only managed half of mine today :( now I feel like a failure.

MademoiselleG · 09/05/2014 19:57

Your vitamins Treacle? They are MAHOOSIVE, aren't they? I just pretend I'm doing a shot competition every morning Grin

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 20:09

Yeah mademoiselle, soooo big! I just can't do it. I've managed mostly but today I cut it in half and still only managed one half. Will it be ok do you think? It's cause my throat is so sore today as well.

Haha maybe I need to think I'm doing a shot :p I'm much better at that!

Tilly28 · 09/05/2014 20:47

What tablets are you all taking that are so big?? My midwife said to just take a Vit D tablet and a folic acid tablet each day and they are only little?!! She said I could take the pregnancy ones but that if you have a good diet you don't actually need them!

MademoiselleG · 09/05/2014 21:01

I am taking the Pregnacare ones that come in 2 separate pills: vitamins and fish oil. I am sure just vit D and folic oil is fine - I just want to be on the afe side.

The worst is when you burp shortly after taking the fish oil one.

'nuff said.

MademoiselleG · 09/05/2014 21:01

*safe

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 21:18

I'm taking the seven seas ones. Will have to swap to some smaller ones :)

PolytheneGirl · 09/05/2014 21:20

My mw and GP both told me to take folic acid until 12 wks but not to take Vit D until 12+ wks.

MademoiselleG · 09/05/2014 22:04

Why not poly?

barmybunting · 09/05/2014 22:29

Re tablets, I have just been taking folic acid and vit D as the other ones kept making me throw up, doctor said that was fine and better to have those two than nothing because I couldn't keep the others down at all!

Treaclepie19 · 09/05/2014 22:29

That's surprised me as all the pregnancy vitamins have it in! I wonder why :/

PolytheneGirl · 09/05/2014 22:35

I think they meant it is only important to take Vit D and calcium from 12 wks on. Not that it would hurt to take it early. I'm taking Seven seas pregnancy, omega fish oils and 5mg folic acid. Checked with the GP that this was ok and he said it was fine.
