I found you!!! BFP this morning Grin Dragon

Starbright24 · 27/04/2014 22:32

11 dpo so expected due date same as tilly and madam -6th jan. Wow. Can't believe I'm here. Thought I'd be on those buses for a lot longer.
very slight lines seen on ic tests yesterday (3 of them) so used a frer this morning and got very definate line.
Temp dropped though this morning - info for retro - 36.5 ish from 36.8 yesterday.

Starbright24 · 28/04/2014 06:38

Hmm...my app predicts due date as 20th jan. Oh well ages away and plenty of time to get it sorted.

Knottyknitter · 28/04/2014 06:46

Hi Starbright

What does the Mumsnet calculator work your due date out as? 6th to 20th is a pretty big window

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 07:13

Hi starbright :)

Right off to work I go... telling the head today.

Starbright24 · 28/04/2014 07:36

Ok...mumsnet calculator says 7 th jan :)
How far along are you Treacle?
I'm already wondering what effect on classes it will have as currently yr 6 - sure I'll get moved if I say anything but as only 12 dpo kinda early lol

MundayCakes85 · 28/04/2014 08:00

Morning all! Welcome to all the newbies- there was a list floating around near the start. Maybe we'll need to go find it at some point.
Other thread has been annoying me lately so I'm here instead. 18+1 and feeling good Smile Really not wanting to go to work for a 12 hour shift though Sad

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 11:21

Hi all!
So Treacle, how did your head react?

And Starbright, how incredible, that's 3 of us pretty much at the same time! Although saying that, babies will obviously have a very different idea about when "the right time" is, teehee!

Gosh it feels amazing having this little secret, doesn't it just?

I wonder when we will all start showing. With #1 I was convinced I started to show at 8ish weeks but then realised it was all bloating and just putting in weight (eating was the only way I was able to keep MS at bay...). Most women says you show earlier with subsequent pregnancies. I'd just rather hide it from work for as long as possible as I get annoyed by all the questions. People also tend to sideline you when they find out as you won't be around for some of the projects they are discussing...exciting either way!

Have a lovely days penis dragon incubators!

Tilly28 · 28/04/2014 12:28

Oooh yes treacle how did it go? I feel terrible having the secret :-) I'm rubbish I just want to tell everyone! Very nearly blurted it out to my LSA but then didn't as thought I should prob wait and tell my mum first (at some point)

Rang my doctors this morn and they gave me the number to call the midwives. I'm on their system now and they said il receive a letter for my scan date in the next few weeks (scan between 12-14 week! Feels like ages away) and also one of the midwifes will call me in the next week or so to arrange the booking in appointment at home!!! So exciting!

chillychicken · 28/04/2014 15:23

Had midwife appointment today. She’s adjusted my date from 11th to the 10th so I am 7+5 today but has said the date I receive at the scan is the date they will then work from. Apparently if these dates are correct the latest I’ll have the baby is 22nd Grin

She’s made me feel completely at ease with regards to the cramps and the symptoms which disappear one day and appear the next. Haven’t had nausea for a few days now so naturally worried a bit!

I asked her about early scans and she said there were pros and cons so I’m still undecided on this.

Loads of info to read so that’ll keep me busy tonight! Had a blood test and have the form to fill in for my free prescriptions. Scan should be booked in for 4-5 weeks time and then it’s back to the midwife at 16 weeks with a urine sample and we'll listen to the heartbeat then as well. She’s given me details of the antenatal classes and told me to book on to the September/October one as early as poss as it books up quickly.

She was absolutely fantastic and had a fantastic sense of humour. I have her mobile number, the local birthing centre number and the number for the maternity unit at the hospital.

I didn’t ask loads of questions as I’d mainly forgotten them but I came away feeling pretty positive and it definitely feels more real. I can’t wait to go home, curl up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and read through the info Grin

Starbright24 · 28/04/2014 16:08

That sounds really positive and exciting, chillychicken.

I was wondering about phoning midwife - but then thought I'd at least leave it till af is actually late (due tomorrow.) - and then thought that I have doctors appointment on 8th may anyway as supposed to get results back from blood tests and semen analysys for infertility. Love the timing there! !!!!!! Grin so might just wait it out for a week or so. Hmmm

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 17:11

starbright, I'm 5 + 5. It is early but I know the head is thinking of moving us all.

She was lovely :) a little shocked (but I am young). She just asked how early i was telling her haha and who i had told. Then said if i need any time foranything let her know and we can just lie to everyone else until they know.

CallingAllEngels · 28/04/2014 17:27

Glad to hear it went well treacle. I have my 12w scan and booking in appt on the day of the school prom. Already wondering what on earth is going to fit me as the dress I bought is already rather snug.

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 17:46

Oh no calling! I'm sure you will find something :)

I'm going to try and get a doctors appointment tomorrow :) Then I'll be able to sort my scan.

CallingAllEngels · 28/04/2014 18:19

I could always wear my wedding dress (got married when 7 months pg with ds) but was hoping for something a bit more subtle and particularly to hide it for a bit longer from my students as will be less than 11 weeks!

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 18:30

Haha aww, yeah I'm wondering how I'll hide it for so long.
Especially as it'll be my birthday when I'm about 9 weeks.

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 18:58

Everyone at work figured me out v early on last time round. One delightful person even said: "oh I knew you was pregnant straight away cos you was well moody!".
Whoops.
And: charming!

I guess it also becomes fairly obvious when you start wearing mainly floaty tops and flat shoes, hehe Wink

Glad all went well with your HT treacle, she sounds very supportive!

Tilly28 · 28/04/2014 19:06

Glad all went well chilly and your head sounds lovely treacle I'm nervous about telling mine I know they are already planning for next year so I'm unsure when to tell them! Reckon il have to in the next week or 2 just so it's fair and they can make decisions for next year.

I feel bloated already, I had to stop myself putting my hand on belly and smiling today! It just feels so nice! :-) did an IC when I got home as they arrived in post today (couldn't not eh) and got another nice clear line! Phew! I'm hoping having them will keep me entertained for the next week or so then I can try the other cb digi when il hopefully get a 3+ sign!

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 19:37

Tilly, I am freaking out...are you my twin? ;) I also had my ic tests come in the post today! And id one. The line was there but veeeery faint. But it was very diluted wee. I'm not worried.

Why will you tell your head so early? I really don;t want to tell mine. In a bit of a delicate situation in the sense that I am thinking of applying for promotion permanently (which I am currently doing as 'acting'), but similarly, I remember being so, so tired and useless last time round that I think I would prefer going back to my standard contract, which after my 1st mat leave was amended to part time without any responsibility. But then, going for the job (and getting it!) would also mean marginally more money. But I would probably need to take time off as I did last time. But it would still be better for my CV. But I'd be shafting the team. But but butbutbutbut...Argh! Don't know!

What would you do? Try to cut down the hours ahead of a potentially difficult pg or go for as much promotion as possible, with the risk of shafting the team and needing to be signed off early or at least a few times before Christmas?

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 19:49

I wanted to tell my head because I think she will support me more if I make it easier for her.
Personally mademoiselle I'd cut down the hours but that's just me :p

Tilly28 · 28/04/2014 19:51

Haha! mademoiselle well I did always beg my mum for a twin when I was young (watched the parent trap too many times!) lol! Mine wasn't as clear as FRER on the IC but a definite line none the less! :-)

I suppose I don't have to tell them early just don't want to piss them off and tell them too late so they have already sorted classes etc and it's too late to appoint! It might not make any difference but I know they have struggled in the past to get any good maternity covers! :-/ in a way I feel guilty! Silly really....

I think in your situation I wouldn't tell them! You should go for the job if you want it! If it's ment to be, its ment to be! :-) although that's easy for me to say as this will be my 1st baby so iv no idea how il feel during the pregnancy and after the baby is here!

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 20:51

Thanks ladies!

I kind if want the job - some days I do, some days I don't. Some days I am exhausted and just think it would be so much easier to work part-time and do some supply and/or tuition and/or other stuff. And some days I remember that actually, being at home can be quite lonely and repetitive and that being at work, feeling valued and doing a great job feels awesome!

I guess it's a rather privileged situation to be in (having the 'luxury' to choose) so I am absolutely not moaning. Just curious really as to what other people's experiences are! Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this btw.

Treaclepie19 · 28/04/2014 20:57

Don't worry about it, that's what we're here for :)

I suppose you could always go for it and change your mind if you need to?

I'm having sharp pains when I move, in my stomach, to the left of my belt button but slightly further down.

DH reckons if it was anything sinister it would be constant unbearable pain not just when I moved around.
Hope he's right.

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 21:04

I am sure he is. I also think we become much more aware of every single little twinge once we know we are pg, don't you think?

I can't wait to be over the 12 week mark and be reassured that all is well. Until the 20 week scan. Pah!

MademoiselleG · 28/04/2014 21:05

(and of course you're right: not only am I yet to apply for the job, but I am also to be given it!)
