It's really quite painful :( but like you say, hopefully nothing.

Well I hope it works out for you whatever you choose :)

MundayCakes85 · 28/04/2014 23:09

Treacle it could just be growing pains- everything is stretching and moving down there. I get some round ligament pain (post 12 weeks) when I move in bed, or sneeze, or twist... Think you only need to worry if it's constant pain

Knottyknitter · 29/04/2014 06:26

Are you feeling any better this morning, treacle ?

Tilly28 · 29/04/2014 06:28

Morning all,

I'm feeling really nervous today as it's when AF would have been due so just want to get today over and done with. How did you all feel this early on? Luckily I'm out of class today so I think il be rushing to the toilet all the time to check everything's ok! Eeek!

Starting to feel really hungry at night and in the morn now and abit yucky if i don't eat regularly.

How's everyone doing?
X

MademoiselleG · 29/04/2014 06:39

Same Tilly, my tracker app just pinged to remind me that AF is due today. Nervous and excited!

Hope you're feeling better Treacle?

Zermatt · 29/04/2014 09:01

Glad it went well with the head treacle, try not to worry about the pains, I've had quite a few, they tend to come and go, keep telling myself there's a lot going on down there.

Am sure you will be fine today Tilly, totes understand the crotch watching though, I'm still doing it!

I'm 6 weeks today, going to my first doctors appointment now, not too sure what to expect, it's a very different system in Aus to UK and don't have many people who I can ask, so hoping the doctor loads me up with useful info. I told my parents and sister on the weekend by Skype, so that's made it feel a lot more real.

Knottyknitter · 29/04/2014 11:12

What is everyone reading?

I'm part way through Expecting Better, which is really interesting so far; all the real evidence behind the guidance. I found What to expect... a bit more didactic, but keen for any recommendations.

CallingAllEngels · 29/04/2014 11:27

zermatt you could also post in the Living Overseas section here. I did that when when I was pg with DS over here (NL) and with no clue what to expect. Got liads of advice and a Iovely MNer even sent me some books on bf and giving birth in the Netherlands.

knotty I have some awful american book that I picked up in Waterstones (must dig it out, the pictures were good!).

tilly I felt the same easter sunday when af was due. Spent the day with ils and was very distracted and trying not to let anyone see that anything was up (told them now though).

Tilly28 · 29/04/2014 11:33

Been to the toilet 3 times already lol. All ok so far! Feel abit crampy but I think that's normal for early pregnancy anyway? I'm so hungry all the time at the moment but have a weird taste in my mouth too!

Yes I'm after book recommendations too as love a good read. :-)

Keep waiting for the phone call from the midwife, when I rang to book yesterday she said one of two would call me within 2 weeks to arrange the booking in appointment. Think once that's booked in il have something to look forward to.

Treaclepie19 · 29/04/2014 12:26

Thank you everyone :)
The pains were bad last night and I struggled to get to sleep bit they had gone off this morning and are now just twinges :)

I'm excited as I'm off to the docs (take two) to get referred :)
Then I get to book our scan eek!!! (Unless the doctor is kind and gives me an early nhs one).

sazzlehopes · 29/04/2014 15:26

Treacle my ds will be 3 years 9 months when the 2nd arrives - it's a bigger gap than I imagined so I feel a bit like a first timer all over again!!!

Treaclepie19 · 29/04/2014 16:04

Aww sazzle, you can join our club!!! :)

Been to the doctors. She was much better. She has reffered me for an early scan. Tomorrow! I am so excited, nervous and overwhelmed.
Had to ring my headteacher to arrange cover as it's at 3 pm. She was fine about it. Just need to decide what to tell the other staff.

Zermatt · 29/04/2014 16:07

Thanks callingallengels didn't realise that board existed, will defo use that as am finding it hard to know what route to go down here, private or public, we have private health cover here, but even with that we will end up about $2-3k out of pocket. The GP really pushes you to go private if you have the cover, she also gave me an immediate referral for a dating scan, which you get at 8 weeks here, and in my opinion is only really necessary if you have no real idea when you conceived, but as I was using OPKs am pretty certain within 2 days, of how far gone I should be. So more $$ for the early scan. She also wanted me to do another pregnancy test as well as the blood test. I need to find an obstetrician, and she thinks as baby is due so close to Christmas I might find it hard to find one as they'll all be on leave

Sounds a nightmare to organise zermatt . Here pretty much everyone has private health insurance, but that covers everything except excess for the kraamzorg (bit like a maternity nurse or doula I guess but for the week after birth at home) but that's only about €200. Can choose between home birth, birthing centre or hospital. We'll go for the birth centre again as in hospital building if we need medical intervention and only 5 minutes from us.

treacle, glad to hear you're not in too much pain anymore. At least the scan tomorrow will put your mind to rest, hurray!

My doc appointment is not for another 2.5 weeks...sigh...I told them that I'd had quite scary spotting last time though, so they said to ring straight away to get referred, should this happen again. At list I am on the list!

Also told a couple of people already - that's the trouble when people know you're trying, they ask!!
