Sad poor you!

Does anyone know if food aversions are likely to go away as we get further along or stick around for the full time?

kicksandgiggles · 03/03/2014 21:45

My food aversions have mostly gone now (13 weeks), and I didn't have any that stuck around throughout my pregnancy with DS.

I am another one who constantly needs the loo. I drink a lot of fluids and am up several times in the night. It doesn't help that I've also got a cough at the moment which is also waking me up (not to mention the lovely combo of the pelvic floor issues, ligament pains, and retching that the coughing causes - pregnancy is so glamorous!).

I meant to say earlier, I have been feeling distinctive fluttery movements the past couple of days that is definitely the twins! I've thought I could feel them on and off for a few weeks now, but it's now enough for me to be sure. Definitely earlier than with DS, but I guess it makes sense with two kiwi-sized babies wriggling around in there Smile

Lottiedoubtie · 03/03/2014 21:55

That's exciting kicks!

I thought I felt a flutter the other night but I'm pretty sure it was all in my head Grin

Here's hoping my aversions go soon then, haven't eaten meat for 5/6 weeks now, which is bizarre as I normally eat too much of the stuff, but I just can't countenance the idea at all at the moment!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 03/03/2014 22:04

Ladies is anyone else still really struggling with nausea and not being able to eat? 11weeks in and it doesn't seem to be getting better, in fact it's worse. I have serious food aversions atm and the only thing I like is ribena or the odd pack of sweets :( can't keep going on like this, and I can tell it's frustrating my OH too seeing me push a plate of food away after a mouthful. Didn't experience this in previous 2 pregnancies x
I've got panic/anxiety issues and depression, and panic attacks have been happening a lot lately, I think that's affecting my appetite too x

Lottiedoubtie · 03/03/2014 22:08

Yes, nausea is constant here (12 weeks 2 days). Vomiting if I walk further than half the length of my (small) house. Doctors advice is just dont move then!

Am eating (and hungry!) but limited diet, strictly NO meat. Even the thought, never mind the smell!

Am also having random tearful half hours. Usually when I'm on my own.

It's miserable but I'm trying to make the best... Do you want to talk about it Xxxmiss?

topmammy · 03/03/2014 22:13

I'm not so disgusted by certain foods now Lottie. So I think it does settle down. Although still not fancying steak, which I used to quite like.

Thats amazing about feeling your twins kicks. I'm sure I have felt something different going on in there myself over the past week but as this is my first baby I'm not sure. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, is that too soon to feel baby? Sometimes I feel like a fluttery/bubbly sensation. But I suppose it could just be my food digesting as I normally seem to feel it in the evenings/when lying in bed!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 03/03/2014 22:35

Sucks doesn't it lottie :( I'm really struggling right now, constantly feel like sh*t physically but I'm counting my blessings as it gives me some sort of comfort that things are going okay inside there, so trying to be make the best of it too, attempting positivity and looking forward to the scan on 12th. It's just me that is messed up and I feel like I'm suffocating, and the attacks make life and simple tasks 10x harder xx

KatharineClover · 03/03/2014 22:38

That sounds like you might be feeling the baby move topmammy!
I remember knowing for definite first time round at about 16-17 weeks, but I had felt it for a few weeks before but put it down as being food/wind! Babies always seem really active in the evening.
Great that you are feeling kicks kicksandgiggles :)
12 weeks here and I've been concentrating when I get into bed to see if I can feel something - I thought I felt a flutter the other night, but not definite about it yet!

Also busy practising my pelvic floors here after a near-miss sneezing event earlier!

Lottiedoubtie · 03/03/2014 23:06

It really does, I just lost my dinner on the way to my bed (tmi? Sorry)Sad might just not get up at all tomorrow Sad

Jemma2907 · 04/03/2014 08:15

Good luck sjs!
Does anyone know how good hospitals are at changing scan dates? I got my 20w scan appointment through today and it happens to be in a week that I'm away. Really hoping they can move it easily, anyone else had to change their 12w/20w scans?

Topsyloulou · 04/03/2014 08:25

Jemma I had to change dates & hospitals with a scan and they were absolutely fine with me.

isitme1 · 04/03/2014 08:29

Im another feeling slight movement's too.
First I felt was on my birthday while I was out eating which was nice. Now I can feel like shifting almost.

Goodlu to thothose who have scans

ds1 is ill again will have to get him checked

Missingcaffeine · 04/03/2014 08:54

Good luck with your scan today sjs.
My food aversions are slowly starting to go (10+3). I still don't want to eat anything meaty, but after weeks of not wanting veggies or tomatoes, I am now slowly starting to like them again. The nausea is still there a lot, but this-morning I've woken up without it :)

It seem to get worse in the evenings. No idea why they call it morning sickness! I think everything gets worse if I don't eat or drink for a few hours. I had a terrible headache and nausea again yesterday evening, but think it's because I skipped lunch and just had a packet of quavers crisps instead. Stupid I know. I fancy junk like crisps more than proper food, but if I eat proper food, I do feel better. After I ate dinner, I felt so much better. I'm drinking loads too and up once or twice in the night to pee.
All those struggling with sickness, you have my sympathy.

kkfairybrains · 04/03/2014 12:09

I just bought a few things off the asos sale. No scan yet though and only 10 weeks so but scared I've jinxed it now! Way too good of value to leave it though! I got a top and dress in 2 different sizes!

Nausea and sickness was gone for 2 weeks and cal back with a vengeance on Sunday! I had left my travel bands off for a day because I thought I was over it but it seems they may be keeping it at bay!

Can't believe people are feeling movements already! How cool! Can't wait to feel something as for me that's when it feels real. Never felt anything with dd until 20 weeks.

karigan · 04/03/2014 12:30

I'm completely off red meat at the moment. Had a lovely pasta bake for tea last night though :)

My scan is a week today. I'm really excited!

whiteblossom · 04/03/2014 12:46

hey everyone, my eating has taken a turn for the er..more normal! Im eating salad!!! Oh and chocolate is def' back on the menu Grin well I have to balance out the salad right?! Back to having to have my morning coffee (decaf) yay.

Energy levels getting better too. I do ache, low down though but I think its SPD, I had this is my last pregnancy but I plan to use my DH physio, and she has recommended a good pilates instructor so I need to sort that out as it will all help.

Right off to check out asos! Have a good day everyone! (Its my ds bday and we have family coming round later and Im hoping he is ready to tell them our news aggghhhhh but he's been very grumpy since we told him)

whiteblossom · 04/03/2014 12:55

Anyone know what the sizing is like from asos?

topmammy · 04/03/2014 13:00

Damn my asos delivery is coming to me today!! Might have to have another look.....Hmm

kkfairybrains · 04/03/2014 13:15

Good luck tonight with ds whiteblossom!
Not sure on asos sizes so I just ordered my usual size and a size up and I'll send back whichever doesn't fit

kkfairybrains · 04/03/2014 13:18

I just went to the loo and had a really big lump of mucus in my pants. Quite solid and light yellow/white in colour. I'm 10+1 or 2 by my dates. Anyone else had any experience of this? No pain as such just feel sick again.

rockin20s · 04/03/2014 13:27

hasnt happened to me, try ringing your local EU , they should be able to assess you over the phone and decide if you need to be seen
