Weebairn & missbrightside - we've told the world now & I'm only 13+1. I wanted to wait until 20 weeks, but DH was so excited (and works at the same place so we couldn't take different approaches) that he wore me down into spilling early. Amusingly, I told my appraisal manager and she laughed because she's 2 weeks ahead and had exactly the same news to tell me

I have to say people have been much nicer than your experience missbrightside Having said that, I'm getting more "advice" than I know what to do with from some people at the moment. I know people mean well, but it can be relentless! Whilst it's our first baby I'm sure we'll figure it out ourself like everyone else has.

Haha One I know what you mean by the 'advice'. Some of it contradictory too so who knows what is best

Got my 16 week midwife appt on Friday. Anyone know what to expect?

Thanks Seven, I have tried hot and cold packs which feel lovely for 5 mins then I feel uncomfortable again...

Brightside I have 2 ds' too and I know what the pressure feels like! Everyone has said ohh I wish you have a girl.
I would love a girl but a boy wouldn't mean I won't be happy. What I want the most is a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby and healthy me after delivery unlike last time.

Is that too much to ask for?
boobs are hurting again. Still in pain but couldn't get to the hosp as it was getting late and ds needed picking up from nursery. Its not as bad as last night and now mainly feels like a lot of heavy pressure at the bottom of stomach?

Hi Alb! Yes I was on November ttc thread, you probably remember me complaining that my AF had not shown up for breakthrough bleed after coming off my pill late October, little did I know I wouldn't have AF at all!!! How are you xx

How far in advance did people book their 16 week midwife app?

I booked mine 3.5 weeks ahead cookie, so just after my 12-week scan when they told me that was the next step & because my midwife only does Tuesdays at my local doctors.

Exactly, all I want is a healthy baby, couldn't give a monkeys about the gender. Just wish people would keep their comments to themselves, we're going to have months of them wittering on about it :/ xx

I booked my 16w appt after my first booking in appointment lol x

I've just had to urgently book my 16 week appointment: I went to my dating scan thinking I was only 12 weeks when I'm actually 16! I had a very dark 9 day long implantation bleed which I thought was just an odd period! Nice surprise tho :)

Brightside I was talking about it with dh this morning and yes I would love a girl but I would also love a boy.

My 16 week appointment was booked after I saw consultant as at the hospital you have to book appointments on the way out.

Felt baby again yesterday. Was luurrvvllyyy

My scan is at midday today. 12+4.
Nausea has returned the last few days, and tiredness and headaches. They all seem to come together! I was feeling pretty normal last week. Sorry to all those who have it worse. It's no fun is it, but I hope things start improving soon.
I've brought some maternity clothes (asos sale - thanks for the tip, and H&M), but haven't had the guts to wear them yet, but if the scan goes well, then I'll be putting them on this-pm! I need to get a whole new wardrobe in the next 2 weeks, as start a new job on 31st and need to wear smart clothes, of which I have none, as I've been in uniform. I'm so nervous about starting a new job pregnant.

Amy I bet that was a surprise! You've just skipped 4 weeks of worry!

wow Missing well done! i know the stats hadn't been done in AGES.

I had a very relaxing weekend, we managed to tell a few more friends who we didn't catch last week which i was very happy with.

found out a close friend has been TTC since last year, she opened up to me after i told her i was pregnant. i was so glad we met up with her alone and not as a big group. I gave her my left over ovulation kits so heres hoping they are successful for her too.

Bought a pair of new look mat jeans they are so comfy but feel a little tight when im sitting down.

Again not been round much just utter exhaustion and nausea making everything hard work!
Lovely to see so many scans going on :) we had our last week and I'm a few days further along making new due date 20th September. Starting to show now and wearing my maternity leggings!!.

I'm really hoping that I get to the beginning of April without needing maternity clothes. Only get paid on the 31st and i'm broke until then!

Meat and fish are still making me throw up so seems like i'm veggie for the next few months. However eating lots of cheese which makes up for it.

I got my bits on the asos sale karigan, debenhams had a 25% off deal too so worth keeping your eyes open.
Just been reading back a few pages, I agree re: being asked the same old questions! Defo need to invest in a tshirt lol. We have decided that we do not want to find out baby's gender so we have the element of surprise. Starting to have a look at nursery furniture online but there's not very good reviews for some makes. What is the feeling on here? For cot beds etc?

I think I must be well and truly showing- my cleaner just asked me! She may have seen books etc around the house but her English is limited and you would really want to be sure before asking. I'm only 14+1.

I've not looked at cots at all. I want a bedside crib to start with and plan to leave the spare bed in the nursery for as long as possible for those nights DH really needs to sleep before work and baby isn't settling. We have decided on the snuzpod crib though. Everything I have read about it is positive and being able to just slide baby over for a feed in the night without getting up just makes life so much better.

Afternoon all, I had to return a few bit to mothercare today and its was quibble free (I'd opened a mat' pillow), exchanged sizes, arranged delivery, the assistant was sooo helpful and she has added me to the 'my mothercare' which gives you a book of vouchers for all sorts of things but one of them is £10 off a £100+ spend in store which could be very useful.

I also collected the bounty pack today and I can't believe how much stuff you get.

Boots has the cussons mum and me range at half price, the bump butter is £5 and there is a £1 off voucher in the bounty pack making it just £4. (sorry if you all know this already!)

Ive also some money off codes for shops which Ill dig out for you.

By the way mothercare do some really good yoga trousers half price in sale £10 they are amazing- they are full price online but if you ring customer services and say you saw them in store at the lower price they will match it or instore will order/stock.

I think Ill order the argos pillow recommended on here. Anyway HTH some of you xx

Karigan, I have a spare bump band in black from topshop (unopened- I ordered two sizes), would this help until payday? Im happy to post out to you?

Im showing already too and need to buy some bigger clothes which is impossible at the minute xx
