Bed I'm not sure, have you had chicken pox before? Ring your epu and ask

isitme1 · 11/03/2014 20:35

Bex of youve had it before its ok. If not ring mw and seek advice who should refer you to see someone who will give you some tablets (that aren't licensed to use in pregnancy but no known side effects)
happened to me with dc1 but didnt know if id had it so they did tests and put me on the tablets, once results were back I was told to stop as I was immune x

BexBoo12 · 11/03/2014 21:05

Yes ive had chicken pox before, does that mean I'm safe? Was gonna wait til morning and ring midwife, do you think I need to do anything about it tonight?

topmammy · 11/03/2014 21:08

Here is my little bean! I think he/she had it's head turned away haha.

Chicken pox is doing the rounds at my school too but I know I've had it already. Hopefully you have too Bex.

I had such a vivid dream last night. I was looking into a really massive tank of water and I was looking for something in it. Then I saw a baby appear swimming about with the biggest, cutest smile on it's face with big blue eyes. It made me feel so happy lol Grin

Yep bex your should be safe as your immune to it. Confirm it in the morning by mw x

Fairypants · 11/03/2014 22:21

Dd1 had chicken pox when I was expecting dd2. I was told not to worry if you've already had it. Also, it's only certain stages of pregnancy that its a worry even if you hadn't had it.

Good luck for all the scans tomorrow, I think we're in for a mega day as I remember at least 5 of us having scans tomorrow.

OneInAMinion · 11/03/2014 22:27

Ooh...scan piccies? I'll have to open this thread online rather than in my app to see them all. Has anyone mastered nub theory yet? Our friends and family are guessing already Grin

We had our scan today too...which put me 5 days ahead of my original date at 12+2 and an EDD of 21 Sept for a very wiggly baby who posed nicely & then used its hand to mimic some kind of weird wig look! ??

We were lucky to have a trainee sonographer have a go first and then the pro, so we got to spend quite a while watching him/her and they gave us 5/6 pics to take away, so a fab experience all in all.

Boo to chicken pox Bex, but it sounds like you should have a level of immunity so fingers crossed everything's okay.

dontevenblink · 12/03/2014 01:22

Thought I'd add my 3D scan as they did it as standard here in NZ along with the 2D, then emailed us all the pics they'd taken. The scan is only subsidised though, so you have to pay about £25 for it, but everything else is free.

Can't make out much, but thought you might want to see what they look like in 3D :) I'm hoping at 20 weeks it will be a lot clearer, we looked into 3D (or is it 4D, I get confused!) when I was pregnant with DC1 but it was so expensive then we've never bothered before - so DC4 gets the starring role Grin

dontevenblink · 12/03/2014 01:41

isitme1 I had shoulder dystocia with both DC1 and DC2, despite the fact they were only 6lb14 and 7lb15 and I'm not overweight. DC1 ended up in theatre with episiotomy and forceps, DC2 was a bit more dramatic as he was in such a hurry to be born (only just made it to hospital by ambulance!!) and I had a very nasty tear and bleeding (apparently my uterus, or around there was very vascular too hence the extra blood) when he got stuck and they had to manoeuver me quite forcefully to get him out (I've never seen DH look so pale when all the alarms went off, everybody ran in and then all the blood, honestly thought he was going to pass out...! I don't really remember much though, all happened so quickly and DS was absolutely fine). Hence the C-section for DC3 and I'm guessing for this one too (although have to see consultant first).

This is a pretty rare thing though, especially as my babies were under 9lb. They think it might be combination of babies with big shoulders and my pelvis being too small - they even struggled to get dc3 out of my tummy in the C-section as he'd already descended and was so wedged in! So different to you isitme1, but worth speaking to the consultant as I also had increased vascularity with dc3 so had fairly high blood loss again, but nothing major.

BexBoo12 · 12/03/2014 07:02

Thanks for all the advice on chicken pox, much appreciated x

weebairn · 12/03/2014 07:34

Congrats on all the lovely scans!

I think mine might be the last, a week tomorrow! God I feel like I've been pregnant forever already. Symptoms are improving and no bump so trying not to fret!

isitme1 · 12/03/2014 08:27

Thank you for telling me dontevenblink sounds like you had a horrible time too.
im seeing mw at the hospital and if needs be then consultant. Its just routine appointment to listen in to babys heartbeat. I thought baby would have been moving everyday but nope cant feel anything and haven't for a few days I think it could be early days to say that I should feel something everyday? Hope all is well for those who go to scan today x

wow!! dont! That's sooo good!! Absolutely loving the 3d (or 4 lol) scan!
Tried putting baby's up but wont let me. Lets try again
ps baby was 10 weeks at the scan. .

Scan day :) it's finally here, roll on 1pm :D xx

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/03/2014 08:42

dontevenblink I had a similar birth with my first child, it was awful. Had shoulder dystocia and I just remember a flock of doctors and midwives around me, had to be cut lots to get him out, and when he did arrive he wasn't breathing so needed resuscitation, must have been awful for my mum to stand there and see. He was only 8lb 14 1/2. Had to see a consultant with my second child about it but thankfully she discharged us and we were able to have a normal water birth,,another consultant wants to see us this time round too regarding it but hoping she'll discharge us too as tbf the shoulder dystocia was 8years ago and I've had a normal birth since then x

amy246 · 12/03/2014 08:50

I'm so so worried. My midwife left me a voicemail to say my booking blood results are back and she needs to speak to me on Thursday, but obviously I can't wait! I keep thinking what could be wrong?! Please make me feel better :(

isitme1 · 12/03/2014 08:59

Brightside glad you had a normal 2nd birth

amy could 'just' be you need a lil iron?
X

isitme1 · 12/03/2014 08:59

Ps its Thursday tomorrow so not long to wait x

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/03/2014 09:00

It might just be youre anaemic or something like that Amy? Try not to worry hun xx

dontevenblink · 12/03/2014 09:41

missbrightside sorry to hear you had a bad time of it too, it is a pretty scary thing to happen. I think it is incredibly rare for it to happen twice, hence the c-section 3rd time (when I had the section consultant said after there is no chance I would have been able to have had him naturally as he was already stuck, so must be some other underlying reason I guess) so I'm sure you'll be fine, especially as you've had a normal birth since.

dontevenblink · 12/03/2014 09:45

amy I'm sure if anything was really wrong she would have asked to see you straight away. Try not to worry too much, as the others said could well be iron levels, as is pretty common.

bugoven · 12/03/2014 10:03

Just had my second midwife appointment. Got to hear baby's heartbeat and all other results etc. are good.

amy they check so many things it could be something like iron levels. Have you tried calling to speak to someone? A doctor always gives me a call back withing 20 minutes or so.

Good luck for all those having scans today and lovely to see and hear of so many happy, healthy little ones growing nicely Smile

ksrwr · 12/03/2014 10:44

Hi everyone, has anyone got their scan today?
i have, at 5.15pm and i'm absolutely SH!TTING myself!!!!!
i'm so scared... today, is going to be a long day...

ooo xxmissbrightsidexx i see you're having your scan today too
1pm, am so jealous!!!

ksrwr · 12/03/2014 10:48

amy, i got a vm from my midwife as well saying she needed to speak to me about my blood results, and it was that i had thrush! so glamerous! but nothing to worry about obviously.... hopefully yours will be something as trivial too.
and i agree, she wouldn't just leave you a voicemail if it was something serious. just call her, ask her to tell you now!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/03/2014 10:57

ksrwr I have butterflies in my tummy I'm really excited, hope your scan goes okay later xx
