I've got my scan tomorrow at 230. I'm petrified and excited all at the same time. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to get through 4 teaching lessons tomorrow. It's great to see everyone's having good scans though, makes me feel a little better.

Fairypants · 10/03/2014 16:27

Good news on the scan sindy. I hope yours went well kk and rockin.

rockin20s · 10/03/2014 16:47

Scan went well, baby is measuring 3days later but we are keeping our original due date.

cookielove · 10/03/2014 17:11

gun sorry if you don't mind me asking how much is your harmony test?

So exciting for scans, looking forward to mine!

Had a bad day looking for somewhere to buy, everything is under bloody offer! So cross at vendor for pulling out at the last minute, if she had done it earlier we wouldn't be so stuck!

gunwalloe · 10/03/2014 17:22

cookielove its £400 I had myn at the FMC

LH1981 · 10/03/2014 17:27

Just checking ion, been quiet as nothing to report. MS still a biatch, but it's definitely easing - just worse in the evenings.

Got my scan on Weds.

Is anyone else being offered a new blood test for Down's?
I had the normal 12-week bloods done yesterday and the hospital are working in partnership with this private medical company to do research. If my results come in as high risk - between 1-in-2 and 1-in-150, then they offer a free blood test instead of the amniocentesis test. The results are 99% accurate and the test carries no risk of mc. Apparantly this test is currently already available privately, but has a very high price tag of up to £800!

gunwalloe · 10/03/2014 17:32

lh1981 it could be the harmony test there offering or the nifty. Ive paid privately for the harmony test the information is here www.fetalmedicine.com/fmc/03-harmony-test/

xxmissbrightsidexx · 10/03/2014 18:15

Yay to lots more scans and wiggly babies today. Sorry to hear that some of you are dealing with numerous challenges at the moment though Hmm

I'm ridiculously excited and completely terrified about my scan tomorrow, so sympathising with several of you. Assuming that it's okay we've decided to tell work this week (something I wasn't planning to do until much later originally), but I figure I'm going to start needing time off either way and I can't hide it long enough to go for promotion in the summer, so I might as well draw a line under that one. This lil bump is the most important thing Smile

Going to try to get DH to watch OBEM again this evening...he's the most queasy, squeamish, fainty person I know and gets freaked out by hospitals (even the scan tomorrow will be a challenge for him!) so I'm trying to desensitise him in the hope that he might be able to be there at the birth...even if it's just for a bit.

amy246 · 10/03/2014 18:55

Any other people with bumps already? Mine appeared at 11+5! But I am super skinny! People have already guessed at work that I'm pregnant! I couldn't believe it!

KatharineClover · 10/03/2014 19:09

All well with my scan today - baby was very wiggly and kicky and we had a lovely clear view of it yawning and waving! My dates have been put forward by a week (even though I know I ovulated on 23/12/13, but DS was also put forward a similar amount and was 2 days earlier than that!) so my new EDD is now 10th Sept and I am now 13+5!
I've put my scan pic on a FB group I go on, and everyone has guessed girl so far (based on 'skull theory' as pic doesn't show the 'nub' for a 'nub theory' guess).
amy I have a bump already! It appeared about a month ago and is now really obvious.

Inbl00m · 10/03/2014 19:18

Amazing scan this morning, baby was stubbornly lying on his/her tummy but after a bit of a walk managed to get some great pics. Such a surreal but wonderful feeling seeing something so recognisably baby-shaped bouncing around in there.

Good luck to everyone else scanning this week!

marie1w · 10/03/2014 19:33

Amy my stomach feels huge. Had a lot of people at work today remarking how pregnant I now look. I'm 13 + 5 to Katherine so same EDD. Asked mw last week if I should be this big and she said the body just remembers from last time...then she remembered this is my first pregnancy! I'm usually a size 12and fairly slim so feeling huge.

BexBoo12 · 10/03/2014 19:49

Hey ladies, just checking in.

Great news about the scans, it's such a relief to see that wriggly baby isn't it. Congrats x

I'm 14+1 today, and I'm starting to get a little bump I think?! Dare I say it. Or is it just excess flab down to all the cheese I'm eating?! Answers on a post card please. Gonna have to move into maternity trousers soon.

I also used my doppler for the first time last night and heard beans heartbeat!! Truly amazing. Nearly cried!!

Anyone else tuning into OBEM later? I can't bloody wait

BexBoo12 · 10/03/2014 19:51

Katherine, where did you put the photo for the gender guess?! I would love to do that x

rockin20s · 10/03/2014 20:33

Just back from telling everyone. Mil and sil said they had guessed but they still looked a bit shocked. My dad got out a bottle of champagne.

My bloods showed elevated tsh so I have been prescribed eltroxin 50mg and they will retest again in 6 weeks. The doctor said that this could be causing the exhaustion I'm feeling and it may not be all caused my the pregnancy. I'm really hoping that this works as I'm getting no work done in work just want to go to sleep

kkfairybrains · 10/03/2014 20:33

Scan went really well! A very lazy lil baba I think we woke him up with the scanner! They brought days forward to the 25th sept so I'm happy with that! Such a relief to see that everything is ok! Looking forward to telling dd in a couple of weeks. She's 3 and a half so trying toehold out telling her for a while but she's already asking lots of questions and telling us she wants a baby sister!

CumbrianExile · 10/03/2014 20:37

Checking in as this as fell of the 'threads I'm on'!

Glad to hear all the great scan news Smile

topmammy · 10/03/2014 21:04

I want to watch OBEM but too scared haha! You'll have to tell me what happens Bex

I am definitely noticing a small bump now. Couldn't do up some trousers today that I normally can. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow! I'm getting impatient to feel baby move now.

Lovely to hear good scan news today. Good luck to those who have upcoming scans :)

BexBoo12 · 10/03/2014 21:17

Topmammy I will keep you posted!! Currently a young girl delivering, she's only 18 bless her. I'm thinking if she can do it, and be very brave and quite calm about it, so can I Smile

KatharineClover · 10/03/2014 21:30

bexboo I posted up my photo in a big parenting /cloth nappy using mums group on Facebook. People often post their scan pics on there and people like to guess. I've had 7 guesses so far- all girl (usually its a mix!)!

arob100 · 10/03/2014 22:11

Congrats to all those that had scans today Grin .
I'm patiently waiting till wed afternoon for mines, 3pm it's so long away! Both me and OH are off work so will be a nightmare keeping him calm and not bouncing off the walls all day.
On a massive plus ms seems to be completely gone, only to be replaced by evening heartburn Angry .
I'm so jealous of you all I've not even got a tiny bump yet (unless I eat for Scotland at night) almost can't wait to be squeezing into my skinny jeans, great excuse to shop for a new wardrobe and OH can't moan Wink.
Well OBEM is finished and I'm on the school run with my niece and nephew tomorrow morning so it's off to bed for me Xx

dontevenblink · 10/03/2014 22:50

OneInAMinion my DH is incredibly squeamish, cannot even mention anything to do with birth in front of him, and there is no chance at all that I'd ever be able to make him watch even 30 seconds of OBEM! However, he has made it through 3 births, two vaginal (but not straightforward) and one C-section! There was a lot of blood at the end with dc2 and he even survived that :) So don't worry, they tend to step up to the plate when they have to Grin

dontevenblink · 11/03/2014 00:19

Just realised that should add, for you first timers, that there was only a lot of blood due to a fairly rare complication at the end (we were both fine though) - don't want to scare anyone!

dontevenblink · 11/03/2014 00:24

isitme1 thanks for the tip about Next, I have bought from them before, but they only have a limited stock and everything I like they never have in my size! I'll have another look though, thanks. What I have found a bit silly with Next is that they only sell stock for the current season in the UK, so they are trying to sell us summer stuff when it is our winter Hmm. I'm doing an evening course in basic tailoring though, so am currently learning how to make a custom fit maternity skirt :)
I'm in New Zealand by the way, hence why I normally post at strange times Grin
