oooh pixie thanks will look into that Smile well done on the swing by the way!

Trying to find motivation to work right now...computer is so slow which doesn't help...and it is so sunny outside!

MrsB2013 · 14/04/2014 12:32

Hi all sorry I haven't posted in ages, been crazy busy with one thing or another!

Hope you're all ok?

Had my 28w mw app today, everything seems fine, hate having blood tests though :(

I really must get organised now and order the big stuff like a pram, car seat etc!!

icklekid · 14/04/2014 15:38

Arhhh shhh don't remind me about bloods at next midwife appointment! My midwife was amazing last time hardly felt a thing but last time I went they said she was on long term sick so no idea who it will be next... fingers crossed they are as good.

Prams and car seats are the exciting things mrsb glad to have you back with us though. When I say exciting I mean a distraction from the sickness, pain and reality of having to give birth at some point!!!

ZingSweetCoconut · 14/04/2014 15:41

27 weeks tomorrow (so exactly 6 months) and officially stepping into 3rd trimester.
when did that happen? Shock

having 4D scan tomorrow - excited to see baby and worried about finding out the sex as I still have a preference (but I'll never admit what it is, I feel crap enough about even having this feeling that I'd prefer one over the otherSad why do I? so stupid! ).

anyone still feeling sick or is it just me?Confused

AuntieMaggie · 14/04/2014 16:42

incapinka I don't think you're unreasonable for being upset... hope you manage to come to some compromise. I was grumpy enough when DP mentioned another cycling challenge in May...

Yes to the itchy nipples... have been using DPs hydromol on it or vaseline or aqueous or vaseline... I have a small patch of dry flaky eczema type skin on one side of my left nipple!

28 week check today - everything fine and finally heard babys heartbeat :) though mw measured me at 31 cm/weeks!

icklekid · 14/04/2014 17:01

Oh zing exciting about 4d scan hope baby is whichever sex you would prefer. I don't mind with this one as first but would like a daughter at some point...however know I am not really in control of this!

Ohh 31cm auntie however I have heard a lot about how unreliable measurements are!

Plateofcrumbs · 14/04/2014 17:27

Hope the 4D scan goes well zing and that the gender is the one that you want - nothing wrong with having a secret preference! In an ideal world I'd love to have one of each, but as this is number 1 I'm equally happy either way! Knowing it's your last one makes a difference I'm sure.

I'm getting a lot of back pain at the moment, sitting on office chair is really uncomfortable (I have terrible posture at the best of times). Seriously wondering whether sitting on a ball or something would be better?

Also getting frustrated by pelvic pain - I walked about 2-3 miles yesterday and am paying for it today.

ZingSweetCoconut · 14/04/2014 17:45

plate

I think sitting on a ball could be useful. and would look good! Grin

yes, being last one is what's screwing with my head.
I never cared before, either way.
but it will be fine, whatever happens I will love this baby just as much as the others, I have no doubt.
Smile

Ipsumlorem · 14/04/2014 17:47

Just popping in to say - I SWAM for over an hour today!! First proper exercise (except walking dog etc) since I started being sick. Pelvic pain disappeared completely while I was in and discovered I've also not lost as much fitness as I expected!

Did however forget how heavy I am when I was getting out of the pool and felt like someone had tied lead weights to me! Grin

Incapinka · 14/04/2014 19:19

Well done for swimming ipsum and hope the scan went well zing and don't feel bad for having a preference. As you say regardless of what it turns out to be you will love it when it arrives and develops it's own personality.

And thanks for the support. Yesterday was a major wobble for me. Spent most of it in tears and after yet another rubbish nights sleep (why do I hope for an improvement?!) I had a few tears this morning but feeling better at the moment. In DH defence he would never have entered if he had known that we would be expecting number 2. Part of me wants him to just get on and do it as then he will have had his fix for the next few years whereas if he doenst do it this year then he will no doubt want to do it next year and I would just like to get it over with. At least now he is doing a detailed training diary I can bank all his training hours as time off for me next year (in theory anyway!). I just know it is going to be tough what with it being his busiest time of year. Part of me just wishes baby was here so we could just crack on rather than me over analysing and worrying... On a brighter note I rode the horse today in the sun which blew the cobwebs away. Just don't tell my midwife. She isn't horsey at all and was appalled i was still riding at 16 weeks...

Love how we are all here for eachother...

JuiceInAWineGlass · 14/04/2014 20:29

Massive sympathy for everyone suffering with symptoms/ DHs with hobbies... In a desperate attempt to feel better prepared for being responsible for a whole person, I went on a baby and child 1st aid course at the weekend- really helpful, and one thing they mentioned was the Red Cross 1st Aid App- it's free and it seems really good- particularly given I pretty much always have my phone with me- bit easier than carrying a book around! Not sure how to link to it, but I just did a search on the App Store and it came up if you want to have a look...

AuntieMaggie · 14/04/2014 20:52

ipsum well done on the swim but be careful of that breast stroke when swimming... physio told me it may feel ok at the time but the leg motion will put strain on your pelvis... and I always forget how heavy I am Grin

plate sympathise with the pelvic pain its frustrating to know how much is ok.when it feels ok at the time but you end up paying for it later.

I'm starting to get grumpy at tge lack of physical stuff I can do... wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't had a period in the first trimester where I couldn't do much cos of a badly sprained ankle! DP tries bless him but he just doesn't do exactly what I want done when I want it and I hate asking him to do stuff I feel I should be able to do myself!

Tomorrow is GTT day... really looking forward to that!

icklekid · 14/04/2014 21:12

zing I'm still sick, every night, normally more than once Sad

I bought a swim suit today so thats half way to swimming right. ..

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 14/04/2014 21:18

Maggie hope GTT goes ok. For me it wasn't as bad as friends had described it.

Zing hope that the scan is good.

Incapinka I can't imagine what it will be like for you with the IM training, like you say hopefully if your DH does it this year then you get a lot of credits for next year.

We moved DS into his new bedroom at the weekend so the nursery is now vacated for the new arrival. I've got to sort out the newborn clothes but I'll do that closer to the big day. And I'll do the rest of the clothes once we know if it's a boy or a girl.

My shopping list is:
Pushchair (Babyzen Yoyo)
Changing bag (probably JuJu BeAll to directly replace the last one that has seen better days)
Nightlight for nursery
Hospital bag items
Possibly tiny baby clothes depending on size at next scan in a few weeks and whether I get a ELSC and the timing of it.

And I desperately need to get a maternity skirt and some more tops.

Rosalie Cheap and cheerful tesco!bought two- this one www.clothingattesco.com/swimwear/f+f-narrow-strap-ruched-maternity-swimsuit/invt/jo411326 and this one www.clothingattesco.com/swimwear/f+f-floral-print-maternity-swimsuit/invt/jo411321 as not sure about straps on first one...

foxtrot I also need a maternity skirt pretty urgently seen some that I like on asos and next but having to wait until pay day! Sounds like you've got a good shopping list there!

auntie I get just as frustrated when have to ask for help. I'm normally so independent and hate relying on others. If I didn't feel so much pain when I know I've done too much then I would keep going but just not an option!

Ugh - woke up early having nightmares. Have next scan/consultant appointment on Thursday and it's obviously starting to play on my mind.

ZingSweetCoconut · 15/04/2014 07:51

ickle
poor you. I feel sick a lot, but right now it's my nosebleeds and night timr leg cramps that bother me the most.

you know you can lie on your back on the floor, pretending you are swimming! that'd be 99% swimming!Grin

gotta dash, 4D scan is at 12noon.
can't wait! Smile

MrsA2 · 15/04/2014 08:05

Morning all,

Zing enjoy your scan - I do have a slight preference too, but for me it's number one and so either is a big surprise anyway!

That does sound like your husband has a lot on his plate this summer Incapinka. In some ways at least he is getting it out the way and then you can ban any new events for a little while?

Juice, thanks for the tip about the app.

Shattered today, didn't sleep well last night at all, seems to be quite regular now. Off to get the whooping cough vaccine in a few minutes so better get organised. 29 weeks for me today, suddenly this is really speeding up (can't believe there is a Dec 14 thread already!).

Move into our new house next Friday and then, finally, I can start to buy all the bits we need for this baby - I've only got a couple of vests and sleepsuits so far...

lentilpot · 15/04/2014 08:41

Hello all! Very late to the party but I have been reading from the beginning! I'm 26+5 weeks pregnant with a baby boy, due on 18 July.

MrsB2013 · 15/04/2014 08:45

Good luck for your scan today zing

ZingSweetCoconut · 15/04/2014 11:33

welcome lentil!

we are here now, and I've just eaten my compulsory chocolate(Grin ) and cold drink which supposed to wake baby.

so excited.
I changed my mind and don't care anymore what it is - I guess it would be nice for DD to have a sister, but being the only girl amongst six boys would be special too.
It's going to be great either way.
Smile

AuntieMaggie · 15/04/2014 14:37

zing hope your scan goes well... gotta be better than my day especially when mw called to say she wrote my name wrong on some tubes so I had to have more blood done... feeling out of sorts with the fasting, tooing and froing and needles...

icklekid · 15/04/2014 15:16

Ohh zing I'm on the floor "swimming" now! How was the 4d scan? I'm a tad jealous as my friends also having one this week but at the same time I know I just need to learn patience!

Sat in the park for 3 hours this lunch time having a picnic, was lovely but am in agony now Sad not good for my back- DH will be cross but it was ok at the time just not now!

Had lots of jobs I wanted to get done this afternoon don't think I can face any of them, lucky I got work done this morning really! Book, ice cream and mini eggs it is...

Welcome lentil by the way your exactly a week behind me. Hoping this final trimester flies by...
