Hi all, I have my BFP and due 30th October. It's my third baby and was 2 weeks late with the last two so bound to be November.

Anybody else for November yet? I know it's very very early :)

Congratulations to all the new members!

I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm a little bit further along than I thought I was, as I got ever such a dark line on the test stick, the day before I thought my period was due, and I had a lot of nausea (but not actual sickness) over the last two weeks, before I knew I was pregnant. My periods have been irregular since coming off Depo Provera in the summer, so in theory I could actually be more like 7 or 8 weeks. If I tell GP/midwife, might I get an earlier scan to check?

PosyFossilsShoes · 11/03/2014 17:59

Worth contacting them just to see?

starfish99 · 11/03/2014 18:03

congratulations to all the newbies!

posy - that doc appt sounded very like mine although he didn't even ask about folic acid or tell me what happens next. did put the fear of god into me though as sent me straight to get bloods done because of bleeding.

starfish99 · 11/03/2014 18:06

pinkgirly - yes I think you should definitely ask. They seem to want to know exactly how far along you are- I had a miscarriage and conceived straightaway in my next cycle. as I hadn't had a period they wanted me scanned early so they could tell how far I was. I was worried about going too early though as didn't want to go before heartbeat shows up, so got mine booked for when I should be 7 weeks.

arghh sorry if my msg has come up a billion times! Having phone issues!!!

pinkgirlythoughts · 11/03/2014 18:13

Starfish - okay, okay, I'll ask! Grin

barmybunting · 11/03/2014 18:35

Welcome to the new additions, lovely to see more bfps Smile.

alita glad to see you are getting the spotting checked out.
Wilhemina did you manage to get to the Drs? I hope they have been able to reassure you.

Can I change my due date please? I think I've managed to get it lost in translation - I should 16th Nov rather than 17th. I'm not sure if it's ok to copy and paste to add newbies or if one person has elected to do it? Happy either way, but don't want to take over the super job you are doing Nessa if you are happily in a system!

PosyFossilsShoes · 11/03/2014 19:08

GP also reckons my due date is different to what the online calculator calculated (but I think he's wrong, because he didn't ask about cycle length or ovulation so he must have assumed 28 day cycle, when in fact I have a 24 day cycle and I know I conceived on CD10 because I had IUI!)

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 11/03/2014 19:11

Thanks for advice and sorry for freak out this morning. Not really reassured at all. Still spotting and it has changed from brown to pinky/red. Have been having pains all day, although nothing I can't put up with. Spoke to midwife and she basically said it's fairly common and they don't bring everyone in for this. I have to wait for 10 days to see what happens but am to phone back if it gets really heavy. Not really sure what to think - at least she didn't sound overly concerned, though at the same time I think her point was along the lines of there's nothing we can do anyway.
So am back on crotch watch like I was when trying to conceive! Grin
Trying to be philosophical as there's not really much I can do about it so will just have to wait it out and hope for the best.

Hi to all new people.

Tigsy · 11/03/2014 19:47

wilhelmina keeping my fingers crossed for you

Petal26 · 11/03/2014 19:54

Hi ladies can I join please?
DC2 - 14th November if the online calculators are correct! Have DD1 who is 2.2.
Have had cramps every day since 4/5 dpo so was worried/have been paying attention since then. Feel like I'm really being pulled and stretched.
Had a little bit of spotting on Friday but nothing since.
Called docs today and made a 'booking in' appointment with the midwives for the 31st (the week that I should be 8 weeks). Went to see the doctor last time and he didn't have much to say so hoped I might be able to skip that step this time!

Sazhoopz · 11/03/2014 19:57

Thanks for the welcome

We were meant to be giving our crib to my brother who is having a baby next month, thinking that we still can do this as by the time this one arrives it's cousin should have out grown it?

alita7 · 11/03/2014 19:59

I hope it's Ok wilhamina! Have they refered you for a scan? (Sorry if you've already said, read all the posts earlier but am all sleepy and have forgotten) I'm getting pains too (sometime mild sometimes stabby sometimes thingy sometimes a bit like period pain) but no spotting since that one time this morning so I'm crossing my fingers til Tuesday.
We must believe in the power of positive thinking!!!

alita7 · 11/03/2014 20:00

*twingey not thingy

Nessalina · 11/03/2014 20:08

Evening all!
barmy - anyone else is free to add to the roll call absolutely!! I'm a bit OCD so I keep it on my phone and and people on each time I catch up on the fred, it's no hardship, but anyone else is more than welcome to add or correct Smile I'm sort of playing due date bingo, hoping we can get someone due each day Grin The 16th was missing, but now it's not!
Wil - sucks to hear you've had an awful day Sad I know spotting is not rare, but it's always scary. Keeping everything crossed for it turning out ok.
I have been dog tired today and my back aches like hell. It's the first day I've felt really crappy, hoping an early night will sort me out!

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 11/03/2014 20:31

Saz my wee one was out the crib by 5 months and she isn't big so they'll definitely be finished with it in time.

Thanks for kind words, fx. No scan alita - she said it happens to so many people and can either be something or nothing and they can't scan everyone. I have booking app in 2 weeks so if all hasn't gone to shit before then I may try to ask if I could get one a bit earlier than the 12 weeks. I would hate to go the next 6 weeks thinking I'm pregnant if I'm not.

My back aches too Nessa - maybe it's a good sign then Hmm.

I am just in a shitty mood today so ignore my negativity. Anyone got any funny happenings from today? I was 45 minutes late for work due to this morning's stress and then someone hit my car and then I had various family dramas unravelling so I need cheering up!

StudyFullTime · 11/03/2014 20:47

Thanks for the add, it hasn't really sunk in yet, I'm only 4 weeks so hopefully in the next few weeks it should sink in, I'm not having any symptoms at all and other than 2 lines on a stick I don't feel any different!

barmybunting · 11/03/2014 20:50

Thanks Nessa, I like your OCD tactics to keep us up to date, it looks very organised!

Wilhemina, that sounds like a crappy day. I'm sorry the spotting is worrying you and then you ended up with the car malarkey as well! Fingers crossed the spotting stops soon and is just one of those annoying things. It is a long time to worry though, so I think asking for an early scan before 12 weeks if you can makes sense as you say.

alita7 · 11/03/2014 20:57

Wilhimena see if you can get a second opinion from another doctor and really push for the scan - this is your baby - it doesn't matter to your doc what happens but it really matters to you - it's not fair on you for her to deny you a scan! Peace of mind is priceless...

MammySam · 11/03/2014 21:06

Hi wilhemina
I had to go to EPAU last week ( not for spotting) and midwife told me while I was there that if I happened to have spotting at approx 5-6 wks not to worry (easier said than done) but she said as long as its less than a period and not accompanied by unmanageable pain then it is just the settling and implantation.
It sounds like that's what you might be having, fingers crossed x
