Hi all, I have my BFP and due 30th October. It's my third baby and was 2 weeks late with the last two so bound to be November.

Anybody else for November yet? I know it's very very early :)

OP posts:

Giraffeski · 11/03/2014 07:28

Apart from waking early and needing lots of wees, I have no other symptoms. So I have been POAS every few days as I can't quite believe I'm pregnant- with my other two I had awful sickness and tender boobs.
Hoping I won't have a nasty surprise when I go for the scan :(

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 11/03/2014 07:29

I have a bit of pain but it's not horrendous. No red blood. I was given a number to phone but they're not open until half 8 so I'll go to work and see what happens.

Greenstone · 11/03/2014 08:10

Wilhelmina sorry that this is scary for you. Hopefully all will be fine. Give the number a call at 8.30 for peace of mind x

MrsWombat · 11/03/2014 08:15

Giraffeski, having no symptoms is very common. My symptoms this time are a lot different to last time for me too. The weeing a lot is a big symptom! X

alita7 · 11/03/2014 08:42

Has anybody else had peachy coloured spotting and is it ok?
It was a slight pink tinge on the loo roll when I weed so I 'investigated' (sorry tmi) and found a small amount of light pink/ peach discharge.

Is this something that happens in normal pregnancy or can it lead to miscarriage?

I've booked an appointment with my doctor but that's not until 10.40 so I'm a bit worried in the mean time...

ladydolly · 11/03/2014 08:49

I had some brown discharge last weekend followed by a day or so of pink/peach on the loo roll. The doc said it was normal. He said he couldn't rule out it starting again or having a miscarriage but that there was no reason why it should.

That doesn't sound very helpful but really it means having pink or brown doesn't necessarily mean you'll go on to have a miscarriage.

Wilhemina fx, hope the doctor reassures you somehow. Same for you alita

Giraffeski · 11/03/2014 08:52

MrsW that's reassuring. I suppose there's still time to kick in as well as I am only five weeks.
Sorry to those who are having spotting, I had spotting with both my previous DC and they were healthy babies.

Tigsy · 11/03/2014 08:54

Giraffeski I keep worrying about the same thing! Although have had a horrible wave of nausea this morning- it was horrible but part of me was glad! I'm glad I've booked an early scan as it breaks up the waiting a bit and is the first milestone for me to get to.

PosyFossilsShoes · 11/03/2014 09:11

Well, I saw my GP yesterday. Complete waste of time. The conversation went:

Him: Hello, what can I do for you? [NB: I had told them it was a hello-i'm-pregnant appointment when I booked it]

Me: I've come in for a first appointment because I've just found out I'm pregnant.

Him: Congratulations.

Long pause.

Him: And what can I do for you?

Me: Well, it says on the internet I'm meant to tell my GP, so here I am.

Him: Oh.

He did then take my blood pressure, ask if I was taking folic acid and tell me vaguely that he will refer me to a hospital and they'll contact me "at about eleven weeks." I'm fairly sure that clinical standards say before 10 weeks.

I'm off to complete a self referral form...

PosyFossilsShoes · 11/03/2014 09:13

And I think the feeling-pregnant stuff is kicking in. I survived the tube journey into work, but I seem to be able to smell ALL the bad smells and London really pongs, doesn't it? I had never noticed this before. Confused

alita7 · 11/03/2014 09:26

There was nothing when I went for a wee just now so fingers crossed.

I hope everything goes well for everyone else with spotting.

I've had some minor suspicions that its twins so it could even be that apparently.

I took another one of those cheap internet strip pregnancy tests and it's darker than the control line now, darker than the last one two days ago, so it looks like my HCG levels are increasing. my boobs still hurt, I still feel a bit nauseous and last night I got up to pee about 7 times so apart from very mild cramping (more twinges than cramps really)which isn't any different to past few days and I think is ligaments and muscles stretching, it all looks ok?

Giraffeski · 11/03/2014 09:55

YY Tigsy- whenever I have any nausea at all I think ' hooray'. So weird!
I have a midwife appointment at the end of March so that's not long to go.

SeaSaltMill · 11/03/2014 10:11

Hi, can I join in? EDD 15th November from my LMP!

I have no DCs (2 DSC) but this is my 3rd Pregnancy after 2 losses last year.

Currently experiencing nausea, sore boobs and some cramping. Also complete paranoia and terror!

I tested positive last Wednesday, REALLY faint on First Reponses, but they're stronger now and got my CBD BFP 1-2 on Saturday!

Tigsy · 11/03/2014 10:32

Hello and welcome SeaSaltMill. It's fab to see so many new additions to the thread!

SeaSaltMill · 11/03/2014 11:02

Thanks Tigsy! Nice to be here :)

Greenstone · 11/03/2014 11:21

Welcome SeaSaltMill and congratulations. Feel free to be as paranoid and terrified here as you need to be!

Posy -- argh. That's so bloody frustrating! What a waste of your time.

I see it's not just the Irish system that's all over the place and varying from area to area then. I looked up the hospital in my area (where I had DD) on an information site, and I could see that they'll accept self-referrals. On the hospital site itself (which claims to be created in 2010 but probably was more like 1998) there is fuck-all useful information, broken links everywhere and nothing but nothing about self-referrals. ARGH! I have a feeling that even though maternity care is free here, you still get charged for the initial GP visit and so that's why I want to self-refer. The GP I saw for the first visit was really nice and helpful last time but I don't really need to see a GP.

I reckon it'll be a hospital birth for me anyway, as opposed to a home birth. I like the thought of a home birth but there a few things putting me off: 1) we live in a rented house! and 2) home birth is not really a 'thing' in the Irish system in the way that it is with the NHS. People do have home births and I know someone for whom it went really well, but I think there was only something like 300-odd HBs last year. If I lived in the UK I think I'd definitely be looking into it.

SeaSaltMill · 11/03/2014 11:43

Thanks for the welcome! I'm doing my very best to enjoy being pregnant again but its hard to let my guard down completely and just believe it will be ok.

I actually feel so much better about this one than previously, and different so that's good right?

alita7 · 11/03/2014 11:52

Hi all,

Just been to the doctor, he wasn't too concerned, he said he sees it regularly and unless it becomes red there's not much to worry about, that this isn't an mc but obviously I could still have one.

He did however call the early pregnancy team and book me in for a scan next Tuesday at 9am, when I asked if it was possible to have a scan to put my mind at rest.

So I have to wait a week but I'll see if things are ok and hopefully I'll get to hear a little heart beat!

In terms of types of births, I think I'll have to go to hospital, I rent my home so wouldn't want to ruin the carpets and I think if I lived round the corner from the hospital i'd be more likely to have a home birth but it would take even an ambulance about 45 minutes to get here and back and that would worry me.Apart from anything else I'm quite petite and my partner thinks I'm going to tear awfully so would rather be where they can stitch me up quick :P

MrsWombat · 11/03/2014 12:19

Well I was up early this morning as usual, then just as I was about to the school run I started getting really tired. Had a little nap when I got home. Blush I found my Natal Hypnotherapy Pregnancy Relaxation CD from last time and put it on thinking it would give me an excuse to lie down for 30 mins and have a rest, but I fell asleep. Hope it's just a blip and not the beginning of the extreme tiredness I had last time.

Last time I was pregnant I was working full time so didn't get a chance for naps in the day, but I didn't have a small child then so could sleep as soon as I was home from work. We shall see what is better. Smile

Oh the plus side, DP bought home a big bunch of flowers for me yesterday. It's not often he puts his hand in his pocket for frippery. Thanks

Got an email back from the PALS team at my local hospital. They've sent my concerns off to the head of midwifery on my behalf.

MrsWombat · 11/03/2014 12:22

^In case you don't want to look back, my concerns were that you don't get a booking appointment until your 12 week scan, if you are out of borough, while NICE guidelines (and their website) says it needs to be before 10 weeks.

Sazhoopz · 11/03/2014 14:51

Hey, so I've just found out I'm pregnant! Think that I'm due around the 7th Nov, this will be my 2nd, my ds is 21 months.

I'm in shock at the moment as did a test last week and it was negative so went out and helped my cousin celebrate his 30th in style but as AF hadn't shown thought I should re test and viola! Am feeling guilty about the alcohol I drank on Saturday but know it should be ok (went to a festival just before finding out about Ds)

WutheringTights · 11/03/2014 16:01

Hello, I'm pregnant with my second, DS is 14 months. I'm due 13 November. No symptoms yet, but didn't have any last time. Had some mild cramping but that's it. Fingers crossed for a successful first trimester with no sickness!

StudyFullTime · 11/03/2014 16:18

Hi all, can I join, got BFP today and the calculators are saying due date of 17th November so very early days.

RandomInternetStranger · 11/03/2014 16:49

Back from my booking in appointment. Took just under 2 hours and I have to go back tomorrow to the phlebotomist because she couldn't get any blood out of my useless veins. Gave me a million forms & leaflets, 90% of which have gone in the bin! Lol! She said, as I suspected, I am considered high risk so my care will be consultant led rather than midwife led and they are going to be more twitchy over me but that's fine. Told her the symptoms I've been having so far and she said it all sounds fine. She agreed with my due date and other things I've already decided and said I can have a c-section and she'll refer me to the surgeon so that's cool, one less thing to worry about. She seems really nice so I'm happy. Smile

Tigsy · 11/03/2014 16:51

Sazhoopz. WutheringTights and StudyFullTime congratulations and welcome to you all!
