Hi all, I have my BFP and due 30th October. It's my third baby and was 2 weeks late with the last two so bound to be November.

Anybody else for November yet? I know it's very very early :)

Doggy cuddles are the best! Grin

alita7 · 10/03/2014 00:32

It's awful isn't it random my poor oh Is struggling to keep up :p I think we all need some quiet , destress time but then I'd probably end up crying straight after anyway :p

MabelMay · 10/03/2014 04:26

Welcome all newcomers. Anyone else feeling very un-symptomy?

I say un-symptomy, but I am experiencing the mood swings- so yes alita7 I'm with you there. I'm very up and down right now and DH is having to be extra tolerant.

Extra congrats to those who've been trying for a long time - it can take a while for it to be real, especially in the early days when you don't look or feel that pregnant.

Here's to trouble-free pregnancies all 'round!

MabelMay · 10/03/2014 04:27

sorry: for it to feel real, not be real..

Polkadotscarf · 10/03/2014 05:21

Does anyone else keep feeling their boobs to check they're still sore.! I feel like a crazy person!
Up tooooooo early and have a full day of teaching difficult five year olds ahead! Shattered and feeling nauseous....just want to know I'm not alone! First, unplanned, baby! Wanted very much but still in shock and just feeling very responsible suddenly despite us both being in our thirties! Smile

Polkadotscarf · 10/03/2014 05:24

@mabelmay, my symptoms come and go through the day...hence the boob squashing! They are also huge ( I was already a 32e) so think folk may guess soon or perhaps I can say the new poking them all the time routine has made them grow!! Wink

WinterLover · 10/03/2014 06:05

oh my I had newborn baby cuddles yesterday! She's gorgeous Grin

SIL got all excited when she thought DSD was trying to tell jer I was pregnant. just told her nothing to report yet Wink but at least I kno she won't be offended when I tell people

Ive had a rough weekend. Hopefully the sickness has subsided but ive only eaten a fish finger sandwich all weekend (well I've eaten more but its reappeared straight away)

I'm definitely growing despite losing weight. my pants are getting tight Sad

Hopeful83 · 10/03/2014 07:48

Polka you're not alone! I teach yr 1 and it's exhausting at the best of times. Not great when you're already sleep deprived. I'm also paranoid if my boobs don't seem to hurt. Can't wait for the first scan, fx

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 10/03/2014 08:43

My symptoms pretty much consist of slightly larger, more tender boobs. And that's it. I'm going to start freaking out some time soon.

Nessalina · 10/03/2014 09:09

My boobs are a little more tender, but nothing like before. Can't remember when it all started kicking off last time! Awake again at ridiculous o'clock this morning Confused
Winter, you poor thing! I'm guessing that must have been the bug rather than morning sickness right?! You must be starving!!

ladydolly · 10/03/2014 09:21

So many poorly ladies! Any waves of nausea I've managed to control with drinking ginger and lemon tea.

I'm getting quite worried about the boob situation, I'm only 5 weeks and already spilling out of my 36G bra and they're so painful they've been waking me up at night, are they going to be sore the whole pregnancy... and beyond??

Hope everyone is feeling better soon! and hello to all the new ladies waves

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 10/03/2014 09:34

Mine were sore the whole pregnancy last time Ladydolly. Bought maternity bras pretty early. I assume they only continue to be sore afterwards if you bf (whole other type of pain :D).

starfish99 · 10/03/2014 09:38

hello and welcome to all the new joiners!

I have so few symptoms it really doesn't feel real. I'm pretty tired, but that's about it. Last time I had really sore boobs from conception, so odd there not at all sore this time round.

told my mum the news yesterday and she is so thrilled. she was diagnosed with cancer last year, I just hope she gets to meet the little one. at least it's given her something to look forward toSmile

Greenstone · 10/03/2014 10:26

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to everyone who's just joining. Exciting times.

Random hope you're feeling better this morning.

I don't think my boobs were too sore during my last pregnancy, certainly not after the 1st trimester. I think it must be different from person to person or from pregnancy to pregnancy maybe...

I can't tell what are real symptoms here and what are psychological :) I am definitely sleeping differently, much deeper and feel sleepy all the time. This morning after 8 hours' sleep I had to have a little lie down on the couch before dropping DD to the childminder's -- also I think I'm feeling a bit nauseous towards afternoon/evening but again that could be in my head.

starfish delighted that you got to give your mum some of the best news there is. Hope she is doing ok, it must be very hard for you.

polkadot my first was unplanned too but v wanted, it took me ages to get my head around the whole thing!

Greenstone · 10/03/2014 10:28

Oh, and I'd also love to keep chatting on here as opposed to FB as long as possible -- mostly because I deleted my FB account ages ago! So I'll still be here for anyone who wants to chat/obsess :)

DilysMoon · 10/03/2014 10:52

Hi again, I'm another that prefers here over FB.

Aussie 2 ds's age 8&5 so quite a gap this time round. Hopefully they can help out a bit! How old is your other dc, i see one is 11 months?

starfish ditto what Greenstone said really, hope the lovely pregnancy news gives you and your mum strength and a happy focus

Random hope you're feeling ok today

Re symptom spotting, tbh i haven't got much. I've been getting the odd prickly boob sensation which I remember from my others and to me they feel bigger and heavier but my bras fit fine so I don't know if I'm imagining that. I'm a bit more tired but have had a busy weekend so it could be that. From memory proper symptoms didn't kick in until about 6 weeks with my other pregnancies so will wait and see, I might stock up on some ginger and lemon tea as mentioned by ladydolly as i didn't find anything eased the nausea last time.....

MrsWombat · 10/03/2014 11:07

Hi, can I join in? Grin

I'm due 14th November.

This is DC2. My first one is nearly 6, so things have changed a little since I had him. Can only drink two cups of coffee a day now, (and probably loads of other stuff has changed) and the hospital where he was born doesn't do births any more!

I think someone mentioned Queen Elizabeth hospital in Woolwich? I'm vaguely near there and an considering having the baby there. I will also probably get a 4d scan at the Peekaboo clinic you mentioned. When I had my first they were few and far between, and I had to drive an hour away to get a 4d scan.

Not suffering from many symptoms at the moment. The week my period was due (last week) i suffered from really bad cramping pains, which at the time I thought were period pains, but I now know were implantation pains! Didn't get them last time. Am also suffering from early morning wakings. I don't remember that from last time. All I remember is being so so tired the first couple of months. Boobs are slightly fuller, but not hurting. No sickness yet, but I have a funny lump in my throat which I think I had last time. I only threw up a couple of times last time, but felt sick throughout the first couple of months, so we'll have to see how this one goes.

MrsWombat · 10/03/2014 11:59

First moan! I rung the hospital (where I want to have baby and my closest) and spoke to a lovely midwife to book my scan and booking in appointment. But because I live just over the border in another borough, I have to go to the hospital in my borough (where I had DS) and have a scan and booking appointment at the same time, there at 12 weeks. All the other appointments will be in the community or the hospital I want. Just the booking and scan, and I assume 20 week scan in this random hospital with no labour wards. On their website it says make sure you see a midwife by 10 weeks, and this won't be until 12 weeks. GRRR.

On the other hand she was very apologetic about it, and said congratulations to me, which was lovely and made me cry. (With happiness) Grin

MrsWombat · 10/03/2014 12:03

Just read the NICE guidelines, it says booking appointment should ideally be by 10 weeks. Angry Email of complaint about to be written.

alita7 · 10/03/2014 13:11

Yep!! All the time... and mine keep fluctuating ill worry they're not too painful and then the next day they'll hurt again....

alita7 · 10/03/2014 13:15

Sorry when I clicked reply under a specific post on thought it would somehow link them, that was for

alita7 · 10/03/2014 13:15

...polka dot..

Stupid phone sending too soon.

Nessalina · 10/03/2014 13:19

How annoying MrsW! Congrats btw! Grin
It's amazing how different the service can be from town to town, I'd be amazed if there's any two places where it's the same!!

PosyFossilsShoes · 10/03/2014 13:30

I've got my first GP appointment this evening. I'm very set on going to a particular hospital - of the three to choose from, one is so dirty the BBC made a whole programme about it and one nearly killed my mum when she was pregnant. That was a long time ago and I'm sure things have changed but I was surprised how visceral a reaction I had to the idea of giving birth there. Unprocessed trauma, lol.

HRMumness · 10/03/2014 13:41

I didn't know you could bypass your GP! Things you learn on Mumsnet. I have to get the doctor to check over my ankle so two birds, one stone etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts on North Mid vs Whittington? I went Whittington last time and it was mostly ok aside from post natal. My community midwife who I saw through my pregnancy is still in the area and it would be nice to have her to my appointments so am thinking of going there but slightly tempted by a closer hospital / new birthing unit at North Mid.
