Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

Eek just got my first appointment in the post - midwife on 3rd March. It's all getting a bit real! Now all I have to do is find an excuse to take time off work. How long do booking appointments normally take? Anyone know?
Yours, clueless of Hampshire Grin

Tory79 · 19/02/2014 14:57

Who started the maccy d's talk?

I just had to go and eat 2 yes 2 cheeseburgers and large fries. Oh, and got an orange juice with it, does that make it healthy?

mum2kiss · 19/02/2014 15:14

It was me tory !!!!

The oj most definitely cancels out the burgers imo!! Lol!! Just reading that makes me want to go to mcds again today!

My mum brought me over a slice of apple cake last night...I just ate it with a little tub of ambrosia custard...yummo! Somebody needs to stop me! My dp will have a heart attack if he hears about this! Lol! He wont be pleased that I'm leading the rest of you astray either! He was appalled to hear about my double cheeseburger yesterday lol!

queenasanti3 · 19/02/2014 15:18

Hi everyone cant believe we have a new thread already, chatty little bunch arent we x

officelady · 19/02/2014 15:18

And now I'm craving custard - thanks mum2kiss! I caught myself eating lurpak straight out of the tub earlier Blush

mum2kiss · 19/02/2014 15:39

Sorry officelady !!!

I just need to get back to work...less temptation there! Thank goodness half term is only a week. I dread to think what I will look like at the end of the summer hols!

mrsb87 · 19/02/2014 15:47

Haha office lady that lurpak confession made me chuckle!

bumpbangbump · 19/02/2014 16:02

Well I have fat club later and I think my maccy d quarter pounder with a side of cheese burger happy meal means I'm not going to be slimmer of the week. This thread is not good for the waistline... Although I'm pretty sure pregnancy in general is quite bad for it too!!!!

Ah custard! Am craving it too now! Though still pretty repulsed by most foods but hunger makes me feel sick...a lot of toast being eaten!

Queenasanti that's great that your scan was good.

ImBrian so sorry to hear that, take care of yourself.

FlipFantasia · 19/02/2014 16:25

Oh and those going from 2 to 3 (or have 3 or more already!), what car do you drive?

Here in the States people drive comedy huge SUVs and minivans. Most of which I think look hideous! We drive a honda civic and folks are amazed we can fit 2 kids in it. Three car seats would be possible but a squeeze. We'll probably get a bigger car but I've no idea what...

mum2kiss · 19/02/2014 16:37

I drive a honda civic too and I wouldn't fancy squeezing 3 seats in on a daily basis!

My aunt that lives in NJ drives a nissan pathfinder. I love being driven around in it when we're out there...its not the smallest though but is great with car seats etc...

sazzlehopes · 19/02/2014 16:50

Thank you all so much for sharing you poo woes with me - you are a good bunch!
I'm eating a huge amount...it cannot be good for me. And I too am craving cheeseburger now - and that comes from a pretty much veggie eater here Blush

CareBearWithFangs · 19/02/2014 16:50

So sorry to hear that Brian, take care of yourself.

Office my midwife said booking in will take between hour and hour and a half. I was going to take my DD with me but changed my mind when she said it'd be that long! I didn't really have a booking in appointment last time as I was 19 weeks when I realised I was pregnant (long story).

I want custard! Win rhubarb crumble - we have neither Hmm

mum2kiss · 19/02/2014 17:12

When I called to make my booking in appointment the receptionist said it would take about an hour

magichandles · 19/02/2014 17:27

FlipFantasia We bought a Ford Grand C-Max last year and need to get the front air passenger bag thing disabled when we've had our scans so I can put the rear facing seat in the front with me, although I'm hoping it will fit between the two middle seats as well. I quite like it, it's not massive for a 7 seater and the rear sliding doors are officially the best thing ever.

I'm back from the GP which was fine except my blood pressure was a bit on the high side, so she wants me to go back in 4 weeks to get it taken again. I'm hoping it's because the DC were with me and I'd spent about 10 minutes chasing after DC2 and stopping him going into the lift while we were waiting, the first reading was apparently sky high, but each one came down. I've never had high blood pressure before (except a one off high reading in my last pregnancy) so I'm hoping it's just another one off.

bumpbangbump · 19/02/2014 17:35

Meant to say, so sorry Brian!

I can't bring myself to do Maccy's, but going to the pub in a bit because they do the best bacon cheeseburger ever. This place, bad bad influence..

upnorth11 · 19/02/2014 18:05

No cravings here yet as I was on a diet before doing the pg test and just lost a stone so I am still trying to be good, but eating happy carbs again...

I am suffering terrible headaches though and had to take paracetamol during the night as I could not bear it... I feel it's coming back, too.

I was at an ante-natal class before which all ladies have to attend before making the booking appointment, but now I'm confused: in which week should the booking appt. take place? Week 8-10? Sooner or later?

Thanks for any advice.

Cakebaker35 · 19/02/2014 18:05

I just made a fish finger sandwich. That hit the spot. Haven't had one since I was a student! Loads of ketchup, amazing!

Cakebaker35 · 19/02/2014 18:07

upnorth I think it depends on your area and on whether it's your first. This will be dc2 for me (fingers crossed) and I was told booking in wouldn't be until at least week 9 or 10, but definitely before the 12 wk scan. Also I know there is a shortage of midwives in my area so that might be something to do with it. I think in general you should be seen before your 12 wk scan but others may be able to shed more light...

Me23 · 19/02/2014 18:09

We have arenault clio! Tiny thing it is, we are looking for a bigger car anyway as it is small for two car seats. We are looking at citroen picasso of renault scenic but welcome any suggestions as long as they dont cost much, will be buying used as always money will be even tighter with 3 kids!
The most annoying thing is as we thought we were stopping at 2 we sold or gave away all of dcs baby things!

Mrsthedog · 19/02/2014 18:10

I am obsessed with Bovril on toast at the moment. Seeing as I have never liked Marmite or any of its approximations this is a bit of a departure for me. What I really crave now though is CHEESE...

ohthegoats · 19/02/2014 18:17

I had a cheese moment, a bread moment, a chicken sandwich moment. I'm waiting optimistically for the fruit or broccoli or salad moments.

upnorth11 · 19/02/2014 18:20

cakebaker thanks for your advice so far. I'll call and see what they say.

Bumpforme2014 · 19/02/2014 18:32

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been a bit quiet I haven't even had the energy to type! what a difference a week makes. I was fine until 6 weeks hit, I have never in my life felt so rough. I very rarely get ill so I am finding this all horrendously hard :-(

Every morning I feel like death, like I have the flu and tummy bug all at once. The exhaustion is horrendous, it has taken all my strength to pull myself into work this week even with a full nights sleep (although waking constantly because I get so damn hot). I feel weak because I can no longer eat in the morning, I am off hot food completely but thank god I have not thrown up until this morning bang on 7 weeks today and I start dry heaving straight after getting up.

So much burping as well and I'm so fed up of falling asleep by 9pm every night. Sorry for huge rant and being so negative, I realise things could be worse but I'm really struggling I never knew it could be this bad please tell me it gets better soon?

I have avoided pulling sickies at work in case it gets worse in coming weeks and I can't go in. No news on any appointments for me yet either.
