Just thought i'd pop on here and say Good Luck and I wish you all speedy baby-arrival.

Mroe and more are graduating over to the Post-Natal thread everyday

IT WON'T BE LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dreamydowler · 31/08/2006 16:03

trix1 · 31/08/2006 17:19

To the ladies waiting to have their babies - I really hope its not much longer for you now, Dreamy you are still so busy I cant beleive you have not had your baby yet and ronniemummy it sounds like you are in labour so we are just waiting for the next lot of announcements - Good luck.

Congratulations to all the new mummys - we will all be together on the other side soon.

ronniemummy · 31/08/2006 17:41

have just got back from the hospital being checked out to see if waters had broken! Was monitored for nearly two hours- baby's heartbeat, blood pressure, blood tests, urine sample, internal.

Apparently, the MW does not think the fore waters have gone as she can still feel them in tact She thinks perhaps pressure of baby's head on the bladder had done it- how embarrassing then , because I trickled quite a bit.

But she did feel me having a contraction when she was doing an internal!!!! So something is happening! I am finding them quite uncomfortable now- don't think I will cope with them as they get worse though.

So I am still on target to be induced tomorrow

bugpurple · 31/08/2006 19:43

hi guys

i know that some of you girlies are mums already, just woundered what the view is on feeding at this early stage should i be feeding on demand? my baby seems to want to be fed every 2-4 hours and thats all through the night as well! he is being bottlefed as i couldnt keep up with him when i was breastfeeding him, iam worried i am creating a rod for my own back by demand feeding ....HELP

katylou25 · 31/08/2006 20:21

I fed on demand with Ds and am doing so with Jack as well. Ds fed every three hours to begin with but was sleeping through 12 hours by 8 weeks. Think if you dont feed on demand you just end up with an unhappy baby which is just as bad for not getting any sleep etc IMO!!!! Jack is feeding about every 2-4 hrs and will just go with the flow and see what he does.

bugpurple · 31/08/2006 21:04

thanks

its so hard to know whats the right thing to do, when my baby wakes it is usually because he is hungry, 9/10! i will try and let him cry a couple of times a day but i feel bad letting him cry!

dreamydowler · 01/09/2006 08:05

good Morning all. Cant believe we are in september and Im still pregnant. Have woken up feeling a bit bunged up this morning too. How is everyone? Good luck with your induction today ronniemummy.Good luck with your c.section too M.I.A.Q hope everything goes really well for you both. How are you today Micromum. Do we know if noodlekitkat Padmep and senorapostrophe have had their babies yet? Im sure noodlekitkat is due to be induced on Monday but havent heard from any of them in a few days. Have you been given a date for induction yet micromum? Looks like me and you will be here a while yet

micromum · 01/09/2006 08:52

Good Morning to the few that are left,

I'm sorry ronniemummy, its so frustrating when you finally think your getting somewhere, good luck today hopfully you went into labour overnight.

Well dreamy still here, went for another curry last night, and that is going to be my last for a while, i'm sick of currys.
I phoned my birthing unit yesterday to see if they could move my sweep forward to today, they said NO as they where fully booked, (how long does it take to do a sweep 10 min) so have to wait till monday. I will probably find out then when they want to do my induction.

I really thought i wouldn't be pregnant taking my dd back to school,on the bright side i suppose i have until wednesday.

Thanks to all the mums who keep on posting their support, we need all we can get as you know. Thankyou

dreamydowler · 01/09/2006 09:04

morning micromum I know the feeling mine go back Tuesday and I have to stay in 48 hours too so will mean more disruption to dp this is very much alien to me to go overdue as have been early with all but one other. Its the fact that noone wants to see me again now until the 13th sept which happens to be the day my daughters new nursery teachers are coming for a home visit in the morning and we are supposed to be taking her there in the afternoon. I now need to rearrange that but dont know when to as obviously I could go anytime just hoping like hell its before next tuesday.

micromum · 01/09/2006 09:31

Dreamy,

Will they not do another sweep or two before then?

dreamydowler · 01/09/2006 09:42

no as Im not booked in to see anyone else now until then. My midwife is on holiday

melsy · 01/09/2006 09:43

awwww u poor girls , I hope those who havent posted for a couple of days are with babys and those who havent strated yet will very very soon. I know how frustrating it is, you have my sympathies.

Dreamy I have few questions about storing EBM in ice trays and heating it , defrosting etc. Have gp appt in half hr , hope to speak to you some time. xx

trix1 · 01/09/2006 11:56

Bugpruple - I am bottle feeding too and feed on demand, currently she wakes every 2 - 4 hours for a feed. I did this with ds and its not long before they go longer between feeds. I would definetly feed on demand otherwise your baby couild be hungry and fretfull.

bugpurple · 01/09/2006 12:23

how long before you start to see a improvement with their sleeping patterns? and whats your views on letting them cry?

dreamydowler · 01/09/2006 17:58

Hi all hows things. My mum and dad took me shopping for the afternoon which was nice but still no sign of baby. Hi Melsy hope to catch up with you on msn later but re the expressed breast milk I defrost however many ounces I need in a sterile jug or in the bottle in the fridge and then heat in a jug of boiling water as you would formula

olivo · 01/09/2006 18:43

hi everyone- no time to read the posts as only out of hospital for a couple of hours.

Baby Holly was born on monday morning by emergency c-section - long story which i will post when i'm home. she has been in SCBU since then but is making really good progress and i have started feeding her today - hopefully she will be out of special care in next few days and can come home later in the week. fingers crossed.
she is totally gorgeous and we are over the moon.

hope not too many are still waiting but good luck and I'll be in touch soon.

a very proud olivo x

dreamydowler · 01/09/2006 20:36

congratulations Olivo hope you are united with baby holly very soon sending you lots of love xxx

noodlekitkat · 01/09/2006 22:05

Hi All,

I am still here too. September eh??

1 week overdue now having sweep but not induction on Monday. I would really like to get another scan next week to see how thew baby and placenta are doing. Has anyone been offered this?

My midwifes will let me go to 43 weeks but not sure that I can cope with the responsibility.

Congrats Olivo and Snic

Looking forward to hearing more abouyt the births when you have the energy

dreamydowler · 02/09/2006 08:27

good morning ladies. It does seem a long time to wait noodle to be induced. I have to go on the 13th sept to be monitered for the afternoon and to have a scan but no date set for induction as of yet Im going to try to bring it forward though as my sons birthday is the 12th and my little girl has a nursery school visit on the 13th of course Im hoping not to be here by then but this baby looks set to stay. Weather awful here today absolutely hammering it down and apart from a bit of washing to do dont know what else to do with myself today.

micromum · 02/09/2006 09:52

Goodmorning noodle, dreamy(as i think were the only ones left)

Olivo well done, best wishes going to you and your baby.

Dreamy can't someone else give you another sweep next week if nothing is happening(ie Doctors). Its a shame you live so far away or we could have met up and taken the kids somewhere as in same position, just loads of washing to do which never disappears, especially in this weather.

Noodle with my 2nd they scaned me and hooked me up to a monitor for about 45min as was coming up to 10 days over, they gave me a sweep and another 5 days.

Thought the baby was coming last night, i find when i'm really tired i get really bad pains, but awoke this morning and nothing. I am glad it didn't come last night as i wouldn't have had the energy to give birth. Dh has gone to get new car today as can't fit 3 car seats in my old one.

dreamydowler · 02/09/2006 10:33

morning micro Its a shame we cant meet up but hopefuly afterwards I would like to organise a thread meet up/ xmas party. I know the feeling about having pains on and off fed up of thinking something is starting and then it all tails off.

micromum · 02/09/2006 10:45

Dreamy sounds like a great idea !!! DRINK DRINK DRINK

YellowFeathers · 02/09/2006 17:24
