olivo · 26/08/2006 20:54

katylou - how are you feeling?

snic · 26/08/2006 22:20

cannot believe it, as i switched off pc earlier after posting i stood up and waters have gone. phoned mw and have been told to get some sleep and go in in morning if nothing happens overnight. so definatley will have baby within next couple of days. dont know if im more relieved or nervous now, even though ive done it before, still very anxious.

dreamydowler · 27/08/2006 08:08

good morning all. thanks for all your well wishes yesterday. Really has been a very bad few days Started Thursday evening with dd being sick which lasted along with the diarrheoh till yesterday evening. Ds started with the same yesterday morning he is still feeling a bit sicky but has just tried a piece of toast hoping he will keep it down today. I started with it yesterday tea time and spent the entire night with very severe stomache cramps being sick and on and off loo. I phoned for advice re baby and they said as long as I was keeping fluids down and she was moving she would be fine but cant help worrying. Still having cramps and also tightenings this morning and darent eat anything yet. Dp has started with it this morning and is still in bed after nursing the rest of us for the last few days he is wiped out. Luckily the older children are with their dad but are due back today I think they will have to stay in their bedrooms until we are all well as I could do without a mass epidemic. Anyway did I miss anything exciting yesterday. Snic hope you managed a better nights sleep than I did and hope everything goes well for you over the next day or so.How are you Katylou Olivo and Micromum has anyone else popped yet?

micromum · 27/08/2006 09:57

Good morning everyone,

Welcome Padmep, i'm due with my third same date as dreamy (Wed) but was sure it was going to come early.

Well nothing has changed went for a curry last night and had a bottle of beer with it, as was told when you have a drink it helps your body relax and labour starts, but nothing yet. I am sick of waiting for something to start so going to get out of the house today and try and take my mind of it.

Snic wishing you all the best

Dreamy sorry you haven't been well hoping you get plenty of rest today.

dreamydowler · 27/08/2006 10:06

thanks micro going to do absolutely nothing but rest today feeling really wiped out. I have only ever gone overdue once but I have to say Im glad I havent had to go through labour whilst feeling so ill. Im at the hospital wednesday morning so will find out then how soon they want to induce me. I really thought the stomache crampa would have started something off last night but thankfuly they didnt there is no way Im going to be able to face curry or sex now so will just have to wait for things to happen naturally

olivo · 27/08/2006 11:02

morning!
dreamy - glad to hear you are feeling abit better - make sure you take it as easy as you can.

snic - good luck, let us know.

I am still here BUT getting stronger pains and much more regular - had the runs this morning so am hopeful (as ever!) Interesting to hear about the beer micromum - i had a glass and a half of champagne last night - maybe that helped!

wonder if the cumin worked for katylou?

katylou25 · 27/08/2006 11:30

No I'm still here - Really thought I wouldn't be had really strong pains from 2 this morning throught o 9 ish startting at 10 mins then down to 8 and 6 and then stopped and had nothing but the odd one since then. This baby really does not want to come out!!! Glad you feeling bit better dreamy just take it really easy today.

ohhh snic hope things are going ok for you let us know when you've got some news!

Olivio reckon its going to be me and you till the end! Am glad this is my second if it had been my first think I would have been in and out of hospital like a yoyo with all thats been going on the last few days! Really odd tho cos didn't have anything like this with DS really straightforward twelve hour labour maybe am making up for it this time round!

snic · 27/08/2006 11:36

morning all, still here am booked to be induced tues am if nothing happens between now and then, have been told to keep busy and keep sniffing clary sage to try and start things off. hopefully it will all happen naturally. hope your all well, stay positive.

dreamydowler · 27/08/2006 12:48

just had a lovely bath and feel much better even managed a nibble of dry toast this morning Lots happening for you all now hopefuly we will all go before the end of the month Im going to stick with the August thread even if I go into september as everyone has been great and really supportive on here.

olivo · 27/08/2006 16:21

Hi all. just come back from the zoo - contractions now around 8 mins apart and lasting for about 50 seconds - going to monitor for an hour or so and then phone the hospital. i know its still early days but want to see what they say, as i'm sure this is it!
so if you don't hear from me......

ronniemummy · 27/08/2006 16:23

had my sweep this morning-most uncomfortable. MW said that cervix was soft and could be moved easily. Felt weird when she said I am just poking baby's head now!!!

However, just been to the toilet and noticed some spotting on the pad and when I wiped. It was brownish and light- like at the start/end of a period.

Anyone else experience this when they had one? Is this normal?

sarahlou1uk · 27/08/2006 16:45

Hi Ronnie. Just popped over from 'popped out' August club! It is perfectly normal to bleed after sweep. After all, mw has just separated your membranes from the womb wall! If all goes ok, things should start to happen for you very shortly!

How's everyone else doing?

PadmeP · 27/08/2006 17:40

Hi everyone, I'm still here too. Tried to post at 5.30am this morning but there was no - Add a Message - box - really strange!

Anyway, thought I'd let you know how things are now. Think my waters broke early this morning (hense the early rise) but there was no pop as such and now I just seem to be dripping. Don't know if I should phone the midwife as I don't think I've had any real contractions so don't want them to start the clock, so to speak, which could end up in me having to be induced, which I really don't want. Dh and I are going to try a walk up the Tor (we live in Glastonbury) in a min to see if that gets things going any faster. Think it may have been the bouncing I did last night, as recommended by Olivo, that got the waters to break, so now I think I'll try the Clary Sage too.

Wishing everyone lots of luck and best wishes and really hope you feel better soon Dreamy, it just sounds awful at the moment.

Will pop back this evening after walk unless someting REALLY happens!

lots of love
Padme

dreamydowler · 27/08/2006 17:57

hi padmep hope things move on gor you its very exciting news but really think you should go and get checked anyway tomorrow as there is a risk of infection once waters have broken good luck and thanks for the well wishes Im feeling on the mend now. Have just rested on the bed all day

dreamydowler · 27/08/2006 18:02

wow Olivo hope this is it for you too let us know what can I try to get things started really couldnt face cumin tea or curry after last few days not sure I have the energy for sex or bouncing on my ball clary sage I think I will just keep using that

snic · 27/08/2006 20:41

evening all, still here. padmep sounds like your waters have gone the same as mine, i too am just dripping, however you should get checked out cause there is a risk of infection so you will get a list of things to do and dont (ie no sex.)i was told 90% start labour within 48 hours of waters breaking so with any luck you could be in labour now.

PinkTulips · 27/08/2006 22:28

ooooo, looks like your all popping now! how exciting.... heres hoping you all have your beautiful little babas in the next couple of days and join us on the post natal thread asap

dreamy, sorry to hear you've been coping with a minor epidemic at your house. hope you're feeling a little better now

YellowFeathers · 28/08/2006 08:40

hi everyone!
i hope this is it for you all now!!!

Ronniemummy, When I had my sweep the mw said I would have a bloody show and niggles after. I put on a pad and it was stained slightly and found a few blobs in the loo but nothing huge. On the sunday night dh and I got jiggy with it and straight after had a proper show and few bits came after. After that the contractions I'd been having were becoming more intense. So had the sweep saturday and had Ellis on Wednesday.
Sorry if that was tmi
