lunavix · 23/08/2006 15:25

not a clue olivo!

I'm comforting myself with shopping (still) going to have a house laden with baby stuff and no baby (well ds doesn't count!)

am now 40+4... unless my due date is Friday like yours Olivo!

lunavix · 23/08/2006 15:25

actually the list says yours is thursday! Did they move it?

olivo · 23/08/2006 15:37

no, mine has always been 24th!

but i'm not holding my breath!!

dreamydowler · 23/08/2006 15:39

hi olivo thats exactly what you do with clary sage It can be mixed with a base oil and also jasmin or other oils you like the smell of and massaged into your belly or a good few drops in the bath

olivo · 23/08/2006 15:40

I'm passing the time eating not good!!
house is spotless, not sure what to do next!!

olivo · 23/08/2006 15:40

thanks dreamy - have you tried it?

ronniemummy · 23/08/2006 15:47

I have just got back from hospital appointment as am now 40+2. They have booked my induction-if needed- for 1st Sept- could have had 3t August- but being a teacher thought it would be better for baby to be the oldest in the school year rather than the youngest!!!!

Have got to book community midwife to come and see me on Sunday to do a sweep- which hopefully will get things started!

Good news though, head is now further engaged- 3/5ths-s o it is finally going in the right direction.

Good luck with everyone else!

dreamydowler · 23/08/2006 16:40

yes not sure if it was the oils or the sex though that worked last time

olivo · 23/08/2006 16:46

oh no! was hoping to get away without the naughty stuff if i could help it!!

think i'll try it tomorrow night.....

olivo · 23/08/2006 16:48

ronniemummy - i am a teacher too but am hoping mine will still be an august baby!hope your sweep works...

dreamydowler · 23/08/2006 16:57

Im a teacher too and would rather mine came august too My son who is 14 in september has always been way ahead of everyone else and felt quite alienated at times as a result whereas my eldest whos just turned 18 coped really well all the way through her schooling but I suppose its down to the individual child.

dreamydowler · 23/08/2006 16:59

what do you both teach by the way I teach food technology when Im not having career breaks my eldest is starting early years training in september at st martins college Lancaster

ronniemummy · 23/08/2006 18:00

I teacher English to secondary school pupils up to GCSE. Nice not having to plan work at this stage in the summer holidays!!! Not going back until start of July next year- lovely. Will probably go back ful time though, as you are not treated very well in my school as a part timer! Would like mine to be an August baby ideally...but will have to wait and see!

ronniemummy · 23/08/2006 18:02

Re the naughty stuff...I think my hubbie is not really up for it...but have told him that Sunday is the day when we will have to "do it" after the sweep...as the midwife said it should get things started!!!!

dreamydowler · 23/08/2006 18:08

lol my dp is the same but going to tell him the same for saturday evening

snic · 23/08/2006 19:32

hi all, im still here to. seen mw today and booked sweep for 2nd sept. really hope it doesnt come to that. I am using clary sage, just mixing a few drops with moisteriser(sp.) and rubbing on my belly every few hours, it really doesnt smell good at all. good luck to those with inducements and sweeps over the next few days.

lunavix · 23/08/2006 20:42

olivo how bizarre I looked back to our old threads and we were both down as the 25th... not sure how that happened!

Definately getting tightenings again, and feeling nauseaous but it seems to be more linked with sitting. Not sure if this is just how it feels to be overdue with a largish baby!

olivo · 24/08/2006 08:02

hadn't noticed that Luna (can't remember it changing but it might have done, can't remember much these days ). How are you this morning?

Well, today is D-day and I've had a few hopeful signs - mucus plug yesterday (sorry - tmi!) and lots of cramps, backache and pains. also lots of movement though, i thought it would tail off before it arrived. so, am going to do as much walking as i can today, then hospital this afternoon.

I'm jealous of you not going back to work till july, ronniemummy! saying that, i've got two term off so not back till after easter, can't complain!

dreamydowler · 24/08/2006 08:29

good morning olivo hope the aches mean you are on your way how exciting. Do some squatting too today and get some fresh pineapple. My target day today too I had so much happening this month that I needed to get to today really before going into labour. My daughter gets her gcse results today and then it will be whatever tricks I can think off to get this baby out

olivo · 24/08/2006 08:40

hi dreamy. fingers crossed your daughter gets what she wants. i usually go into school to see how my students have done but i cant face the 'havent you had it yet?' so am steering clear today!

have got a pineapple in and after the hospital , will be doing lots of ball bouncing.oooh, that reminds me, havent taken my raspberry leaf today!

going to get my eyelashes tinted this morning (have to look good for any photos )
actually, thought if i made an appt for my due date, it would come early just to inconvenience me but hasnt worked!!

will check in later to see if anyone has any news.x

YellowFeathers · 24/08/2006 08:41

hello hope i've done this right we have had a baby boby yesterday at 2.52pm weighing 8 pound 7 ounces baby and mother doing well.

Congrats YF!

Well I think this could be it.... have been having hideous contractions since around 5.30am but like with ds they started at 3 - 5 minutes and have been moving between 2 - 6 minutes. May go in soon not entirely sure when as I don't want to turn up 1cm dilated as it's a bit of a drive!

melsy · 24/08/2006 09:08

awwwww looks like lots happening , exciting stuff.

Congratulations yellow and yellows dh, is yellow still in hospital ? Thank you for letting us know , have been wondering for the last 12 hrs !!!!!

micromum · 24/08/2006 09:24
