Saw DR today - had sweep, am 2.5 cm dilated but babies head still very high so could be promising, could not be and been booked in for induction on ................................................................................................................................................... 4th Sept!!!!!! WTF I can't hang on that long but she was adamant that wouldn't do it before as going naturally is best way to avoid intervention with a monster baby like this one is How come everyone I speak to has different views about this?????? Last doctor was going to induce me at 36 wks because baby to big this one is going to leave me till 42 BECAUSE baby is big. I don't get it.

yes dreamy I'm still here too. Had my 'overdue' MW apt today, begged for a sweep but she won't do it until friday.

Lots of discomfort, and very teary. Have been about 8 days without pretty much any sleep, so also shattered. Really looking forward to the labour... not!

My MW also said sex which dh and I just fulfilled. Rather uncomfortably and duty-like I might add. Hope it's not quality!

Just finally caught up with everything this evening.
Congrats to everyone who had their little ones and fingers crossed for everyone else that labour happens soon.
Joseph Benjamin Samuel is doing very well, hungry little bugger! I'm knackered from constant feeding. It was a quick labour and had no pain relief and 2nd degree tears! Will post on the other Aug thread so I don't put you off on here

Well have still been having monster contractions 8 mins apart adn nothing!
Am totally knackered but dh took the day off so I managed to get 2 and a half hours kip this afternoon which has helped.

I think poor dd has picked up on all the stress of it as shes started to wet herself again. Not even attempting to go to the toilet just blatently wetting herself

I was hoping to have a good chin wag with you all today but since dh has been off the laptop has been used for silly boys games

omg katylou I hope they dont let me go 2 weeks over I couldnt stand it and would also mean this baby could be 10 1/2 pounds or more

katylou - that is a nightmare. I am dreading being left to go too far on as I've been told mine is v big as well; hosp appt on thurs ( my due date), am prepared to beg to get it started and then will try acupuncture as soon as i can get it if they want to let me go on too far.

Good luck bugpurple! Hope it all goes ok! I've just come out a nice relaxing bath and off to bed but not sure i'll be able to sleep! Getting all a bit anxious now despite having been through it twice before! But i'm sure it'll be fine! Anything is better than waddling about like a fat heffer!

I think the rest of us should forget about having babies today and go and have some fun maybe a bumpy slide lol anyway taking my dd to toddler group this morning so might have a bounce on the bouncy castle im going to walk there and back and then finish tidying her room this afternoon not that I have the energy to do all that I JUST WANT THIS BABY OUT!!!!!!

Good luck yellow will be thinking of you today hopefully you have gone into labour and it will be a quick one.
Nothing happening with me I'm 39 weeks today, but i am hoping it comes before Sept, though i am a bit worried if i go into labour over bank holiday, will there be enough staff on, there could be alot of agency staff, which does worry me a bit.

good morning micromum. we are both due same day lets hope we both go before then. Im sure there will be plenty of staff but I know what you mean about it possibly being someone you dont know. My midwife has gone on holiday for two weeks now I hope baby is here by the time she gets back. I usually go early but Ive a feeling this one is going to be different.

well induction day is here and i can honestly say i am shi*"ing myself! being my first baby i have no idea how iam going to cope with the pain, how much pain!!! glad it will be all over soon, but god i am scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!cant they just knock me out?

I thought something might be starting as I had what could only be described as tightenings when out, but they seem to have vanished. It's only when I sit down, I think as they baby's head is engaged it just hurts.

MW said I was 4/5 engaged yesterday and refused to do a sweep until friday. So

hi lunavix!

does anyone know what to do with clary sage oil? i have heard you can put it in the bath or massage it on your bump but dont know how much or how often or anything. dont want to do anything dangerous but have bought some today. I've heard it smells horrible too!!
