I'm getting quite frustrated now - seems like everyone apart from me is either getting signs of imminent birth or has gone into labour! I'm now 5 days over and see the mw in 3 days for a sweep if things haven't started. COME ON BABY - IT'S TIME YOU WERE OUT!!!!!

PS. Do those of you who are overdue get sick and tired of family members phoning you/dh to say ' oh, are you still with us then?' or 'no sign yet then?'

I'm still here too, getting regular twinges & BH, but mw checked me yesterday and cervix still really high ... so sweep will happen Weds at 38 +5, then review on 39 + 3 if nothing's happened, then induction, then c-section - all lined up and booked in clinic so I don't go over!! thank goodness because this one will be big on due date ....... she started to do a sweep yesterday but it was so painful I have stuck to the traditional method IYKWIM & a hot curry tonight !!!!

i get very fed up of people asking me! especially trying to be funny about it! like 'have you dropped yet?' 'any twinges?' for the love of god do they not realise how sensitive it is? i just feel like a human incubator to some people!! but obviuosly its nice to know the important people really care!!

i found the sweep v.painful too! had it thursday and then had a show a day later but it was due to the sweep!arse!!

hope all goes well and you dont need your c section miaq mine is going to be a bigun too but havent been given any of those options as they think I will be able to birth ok getting really huge and tired now though will have to try to get things moving naturally this week 39 weeks on wednesday got midwifes appointment tomorrow so hoping she will say things are ready to go go go

Congratulations to all the recent new mums!

Well in the end I didn't have to wait for my postponed induction. I went into labour naturally and baby Alice was born on 19th August weighing 7lb 4oz. Labour started at 8am when I got up & lasted 10 hours and contractions were never more than 3 mins apart. Now back home recovering!

morning lunar when have you next got to see midwife maybe she could do a sweep Im seeing mine today but as im not even 39 weeks yet doubt she will do much at all.

Hi everyone.
Great to hear about the new arrivals!

Am now 8 days overdue and totally pissed off. Haven't even been given a date for induction although everyonbe has said it will be Friday so am getting that done today.
Atm am having very strong contractions every 10 mins but that has been since 4:30am so I think its another false alarm.

morning everyone! yes, i'm still here too. 3 days to go till due date, I really did think something was going to happen this wweekend, fopr some reason the 19th was in my head from very early on but hey ho!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new mummies - I will have tot read the thread more carefully to see how you've all done but I hope everyone is ok and getting some rest.

did so much walking at the weekend, i was convinced it would get me going - up and down cliffs, beaches etc, but apart frpom my poor knees and a few cramps, bugger all! I'm also getting fed up of all the questions, we are screening our calls in a big way!

Those ofus left now are getting fewer and fewer. Am jealous of all you girls getting sweeps early my midwife pointblank refuesed to do one this week when I saw her at 39+5 FGS thats near enough term isn't it?!?! Anyway have been having cramping pains on and off for last few days, am seeing consultant tomorrow so hopefully will be told something is happening. Will also be booked in for induction then, don't think they will let me go to far over as baby very big - according to scan at 32 weeks baby was "substatially bigger" than DS at same pont and he was 9lb 9 - guess this ones a 10lber then!I've also been having the phone calls from everyone haven't you had it yet then? I'm only 1 day overdue and went 10 days over with DS so could be very fed up with them by then, can rememeber just ignoring the phone last time round!!

We've finally come up with a name - Jack William think it goes well with DS's Harry. Can just see them Harry and Jack cheeky little buggers running rings round me in years to come!!!

Iam surprised she wouldnt do a sweep i got one done last week when i was 3 days over, maybe she just wants to leave it a few more days? it seems there is no hard and fast rule with these babies and pregnancy in general, it seems the same all the way through to the last month when it gets complicated!!

i know two boys called Jack and Harry and they are very cheeky!! cute names! mines going to be a Tom.

We liked Tom too and DH really wanted it but surname is Tatem and Tom Tatem just sounds way too Enid BLytony!

lol I like Tom and Jack ds has a cute book called Jack in the Box with a Tom and a Jack! We like Harry too but ds name is celtic so it doesn't really go.

Still here too, been to playgroup and had a billion people saying 'isn't it here yet?' 'Why yes it is, I left it at home on its own.'
No, stupid.
