Thanks for the info bursting.

Fingers crossed then babieseverywhere. If you go into labour I will book a session.

bugpurple · 16/08/2006 11:58

hey all

2 days over and nothing to report, other than a bit itchy, damp in the nether regions, but not waters just mucus! mentstral cramps..going to go shopping in sheffield now with the old man! got the clinic tomorrow so maybe i will also get a sweep thing!?
Sat down all day yesterday sure that has slowed things down!!

keep smiling girls

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 12:02

oooh sounds interesting babiesreverywhere hope it works sounds like a show bug purple although you need to keep an eye on it as if its very itchy it could be thrush which you could pass to baby hope the shopping brings things on a bit

AGJ · 16/08/2006 13:32

I am sure I had a show last night, but other than a few braxton hicks I've had no pains or anything much to speak of. Would really like labour to start before friday when I am going to be induced as would rather be at home during early labour than at the hospital.

hoppybird · 16/08/2006 14:47

Hello everyone!

So many still (im)patiently waiting! Sounds like Melsy,Freddy and perhaps Yellow may be well on the way?

I have just come back from my scan. Unfortunately, results weren't good. For a start, baby's abdominal measurement is under the 5th centile again (ie not on the graph), but more importantly, fluid is very low, as it seems the placenta isn't functioning as it should be - the same happened to ds. However, unlike ds, it's not an emergency as the cord is still managing to deliver enough blood to the baby (ds had knotted his) and I've managed to carry almost to term (I'm now 39 weeks) without going into premature labour. However, the consultant said if I were to go into labour naturally now, the contractions would cause baby distress because it wouldn't have that cushion of fluid, and it is not possible to induce or speed up labour because of risk of scar rupture, so I have been advised another C-section.

I have been on a CTG monitor today, to measure distress levels - everything fine so far. Have to go in tomorrow as well, if everything is still ok I go home with a day's reprieve, and baby has now been officially booked in to arrive on Friday 18th, and will probably weigh only around 5lb (hopefully they've got that bit wrong). I do hope he/she will be able to avoid SCBU.

I'm actually a lot more disappointed than I thought I would be - gutted even - and envious of those who are allowed to go into labour naturally and have a normal-sized baby. I'm just obviously no good at placentas [insert weak smile emoticon].

olivo · 16/08/2006 15:15

oh hoppy! sorry to hear this but glad they are monitoring you carefully.

babieseverywhere, will be watching for an outcome interesting that she implied that one session should do it - apparently here, they offer up to four.

just been out for lunch with my ante-natal class mates - so that they all have their babies!!

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 16:05

hope everything goes well for you hoppy I know it is easier said than done but try not to get too stressed as it wont do you or the baby any good at all you have both done so well to get so far and that is because you are both so strong. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you and baby make a speedy recovery xxxx

sarahlou1uk · 16/08/2006 16:21

Well, I'm officially at my due date today and nothing . I thought 2nd babies were supposed to be earlier than 1st ones? Oh well, nothing to do except sit and wait. Getting very uncomfortable now and don't see mw until next Wednesday when I will be 41 weeks. Hope something kicks off before then. Ds was 8 days over and that was bad enough. Bloody babies !!!!

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 16:36

Hi sarahlou it seems to be the trend to go overdue on this thread hope I dont as that will mean going into september which seems forever away.

purpleturtle · 16/08/2006 16:59

sarahlou - who told you 2nd babies were earlier than 1st babies? My second came a day later than the first - a full fortnight over!

Having been out for lunch today I'm feeling a bit better. At least the baby will definitely be here in 10 days or so. And once s/he's here all the boring waiting will be forgotten.

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 17:31

Im out for lunch tomorrow really lookin forward to it after all the hard work in the house Im going to relax and enjoy

lunavix · 16/08/2006 18:49

I was told second babies were generally earlier too.

Ds was born at 39+6, which is Friday, but I went into labour two days before which is today! Yet nothing!

Only two days of work left and I'm on holiday. Hoping it will take the hint and arrive!

aprilmeadow · 16/08/2006 19:34

hi there, anyone heard how lockets is doing? I'm on the April 05 post natel thread with her.....

sarahlou1uk · 16/08/2006 19:41

OK. Dh is now permanently getting on my nerves. Everytime I have a slight pain, he starts asking if he should get the pool down . Want to tell him to f**k off sometimes as he's really getting on my tits! Why is it men think that you're going to go into labour within a matter of minutes? Last time, I started at 11.30 at night but didn't tell him until 6.30 in the morning when they were regular. He didn't even notice that I had got out of bed! Wouldn't mind but he's lounging on the sofa while I run around after ds, cooking tea, hoovering, etc. If he asks once more if anything is happening I WILL SSSSCCCCRRRREEEEAAAAMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to rant but he's REALLY pissing me off

katylou25 · 16/08/2006 19:53

Well saw midwife today and she said way i've been feeling constant nauseau, crampy pains, mucussy discharge could be sign of things starting to get going - I hope so can't face going overdue again. Ds was born at 41 and a bit weeks but interestingly exactly 9 months to the day he was concieved! Just wish I knew when this one was concieved but as was unplanned and happened after dh had one to many drinks can't work it out!

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 20:11

sorry april we havent heard from her tonight either. Luna I cant believe you are still working dont know how you do it bet you cant wait to finish. Sarahlou make the most of the fuss and attention things will soon get back to normal.Katylou things sound promising hope it wont be too much longer for you now

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 21:36

hiya ... well im still hanging in there, having few mild pains really bareable thats why i dont think that it can be IT! but you never know so just sitting waiting for the next one, they are about 7 mins apart but.... everyone i have spoke to said i wouldnt be this calm if it was a contraction??? so maybe its not who knows...

come on babies !!!! xx

burstingbug · 16/08/2006 21:47

ok, baby is going nuts inside me, it's relly hurting. God knows what its up too but I wish it would get the hell out
I can't sit up, having to slouch, he's really grinding and pressing down into my left hip and stretching up and out all on my left. Getting concerned.

dreamydowler · 16/08/2006 22:21

mine is doing exactly the same bb

burstingbug · 16/08/2006 22:27

Grrrrrrrrrrrr get it out, get it out, get it out!

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:22

i think i might be going into labour.. pain is not like i would have imagined though if this is it! its a constant pain, with sharp pains about every 5 mins, just dont know what to expect, dp is night shift dont know when i need to start worrying him, this has got to be it cos its starting to hurt bad! what will i do im starting to panic?

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:24

anyone about?

eenywifemum · 16/08/2006 23:46

hi everyone!! how are you all?

I am going to be posting on the august post natal thread but wanted to say hi to all of you over here too!

sorry there is no way I can catch up on all I have missed in the last week or so but I wanted to stay in touch with everyone! Hope you all have your babies soon! I know I would have been a nightmare if I had gone overdue although I wish Alex hadnt been so early. So come on fill me in! I wont be able to get on line as much as I was - all I do all day is breastfeed and express and hold him! Its impossible finding time to do anything!

BabiesEverywhere · 17/08/2006 05:03

Well my waters have broken, so it looks like my wait is over !!!
New Thread

34 hours after Acupunture session, so I'm not sure if that correlates are not, but worth a try if you are overdue
