New thread for the chattiest bunch of mummies to be I've ever known!! Grin

We planned ours before knowing we were upduffed - quite glad we did though, otherwise we'd probably have put it off for about 20 years! I work for a group of schools so am unfortunately largely confined to school holidays for any long break - a long weekend here and there is fine but a week upwards doesn't really work in term time. I agree, and in fact there was an article about it in the paper this morning - some MP or other is calling for prices to be lowered during school holidays, given the more stringent action being taken against parents who take kids on holiday during term.

cenadi · 24/02/2014 11:52

Mind you I'm thinking of giving up on work today, since I nobly decided to try and do some stuff from home rather than have yet another day off sick, only to have colleagues not send me things I needed for two hours (!) and then the online log-in system not letting me in. Maybe it's just not worth killing ourselves trying, especially when our heads aren't really there anyway!

KitKat1985 · 24/02/2014 12:26

If I was you cenadi given how frustrating it all sounds, I'd just say that you tried but you couldn't get on the computer system, and then go and have a sofa day. Grin Maybe try again tomorrow if you feel really guilty. No such luck here unfortunately - off to work in 20 mins. No enthusiasm for this whatsoever! x

Fairypants · 24/02/2014 13:23

I would def speak to mw or dr broody- if there's any doubt they will refer you to epu for a scan to double check.

I'm another one flying longhaul in early April Smile we're off to Cuba for 2 weeks from weeks 16 to 18. It should be the best time to travel. Just not looking forward to the flight although mw said just wear compression socks, walk around every hour and drink lots of water.
It does mean I have to get a complete maternity wardrobe in the last 2 weeks of march (scan is 12th so don't want to start before then). I may be able to get away with some clothes but will need summery mat clothes anyway so may as well do it properlyGrin
I'm fed up of work too. It's my bosses fault as he sidelined me after my mc last year so really don't feel there's a lit of point in trying. It's a shame as I loved my job until he did that.

rockin20s · 24/02/2014 14:31

just did a very quick scan back through the last 15 pages so sorry if i have missed anyone.
feel free to add yourself or changed your EDD if you have had scans

lucidlady · 24/02/2014 15:17

Hello everyone! NHS scan done, one wriggly baby seen and all looks good yay. Now off for scan #2 and the Harmony results - slightly less terrified now as NHS NT measurement was 1.1mm which is apparently well within the good range, but the Harmony will obviously tell us if there are any blood markers for any of the three main trisomies, which is still rather scary.

Have also decided to find out whether it's team blue or team pink - I haven't got the willpower to not open the envelope for 28 more weeks!!

Sorry to hear MS is still hanging around - hopefully it will ease off in the next few weeks and glad to hear I'm not the only one who is more interested in baby stuff Smile

Really quite envious of you ladies with the exotic trips lined up! What a great way to make the most of this quiet time before the babies arrive!

lucidlady · 24/02/2014 15:18

Ooh and forgot to say - EDD has been brought forward to 5 September! Sorry for messing up your list rockin!

marie1w · 24/02/2014 17:07

Eeeks...sorry Rockin. New edd from scan last week is 10.9.14! Dont know how they work it out because that makes no sense to my dates!

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 17:23

Ooh lucidlady let us know the results x

rockin20s · 24/02/2014 17:24

lol, girls dont worry, i try to update every 5-10 pages but ye talk so quickly its hard to keep up some times.

im very hungry but have no idea what i want for dinner, DH suggested salmon but i think the smell might be too much.

whats everyone having for dinner, help me get inspiration

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 17:29

Cheese on toast for me rockin, I can't get enough cheese!!!

Lottiedoubtie · 24/02/2014 17:31

Me either! Yesterday I had cheese sandwich for lunch and homemade cheese and tomato pizza for dinner (thanks DH) - so basically just bread and cheese twice!

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 17:44

Lottie, I've read cheese cravings point towards a boy? Have no idea if it's true, old wives tale I guess, but cheese is all I want. But oddly the smell of it as a block disgusts me, I can only eat it in melted form as in cheese on toast, pizza etc? Go figure lol

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 17:44

Ps thanks for the update rockin x

Jemma2907 · 24/02/2014 17:48

Congratulations on the scan Lucidlady! Mines tomorrow and I'm bricking it. Can't help thinking. The worst at the moment. Hmm

My dinner will be a cheese sandwich though I guess that's not much inspiration!, pretty much all I've fancied eating for weeks! Have been totally overdoing the carbs!

Jemma2907 · 24/02/2014 17:49

Glad to see lots of you are on the same cheese diet as me though!

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 17:51

Ha Jemma that's all I want so you're not alone!! Your scan will be fine I'm sure, positive thinking!! Let us know x

Jemma2907 · 24/02/2014 17:56

Will do! Sorry I don't talk much, I'm more a lurker as I've been lucky enough not to have really bad symptoms but now it's getting a bit more real and scary. Have been wishing my life away until scan time!

Anyone else got their scans tomorrow?

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 18:02

Ah I've not had many symptoms either, but don't feel like you can't just pop in to say hi Smile

I've got my scan on Wednesday morning - equally terrified!! What time is yours tomorrow?

topmammy · 24/02/2014 18:06

Omg I'm top of the due date list! No pressure then Blush

Well I told the head and my colleagues my good news today and everyone was really happy and nice about it. Definitely feel a lot better for them knowing! :)

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 18:08

Great stuff topmammy!! I can't wait to tell my colleagues. My boss has known for a while, but it's still a secret from colleagues. One of our TAs announced her pregnancy the Friday before half term too!! She's due end of August so we will be leaving for mat leave together which will be lovely

Fairypants · 24/02/2014 18:11

Bex- I'm doing the same thing- all cheese must be melted! It's weird as I'm usually really into cheese and crackers etc but I can only cope if its melted and realise I was the same with my dds. I can however manage cheese powder and have twice sent DH out after cheese balls/whatsits. Blush
We're having pumpkin tortellini tonight, my favouriteSmile

Lottiedoubtie · 24/02/2014 18:12

Hadn't heard that cheese points towards a boy. But I have heard that excessive sickness/nausea points towards a girl.

So now thoroughly confused Grin

LH1981 · 24/02/2014 18:14

Sorry not been on for a few days. After a week away with the kids for half term where thankfully ms wasn't too bad, it's back with a vengeance. Spent all weekend over the toilet bowl. I've so had enough now, thought I'd turned a corner and now it's worse than ever.

I fancy chips and gravy tonight, if I can keep it down Sad
