Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rockin20s · 24/02/2014 18:16

well i have gone for cottage pie (ready made just over cook) for dinner but chicken and cheese toasties for lunch fr the week, i too have been eating alot of cheese. glad its not just me.

i am also eating alot of salt and vinegar crisps!

my scan isnt for another 2 weeks! i want the time to hurry up!

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 18:17

Yes Lottie, apparently so about cheese. But like all these, it's just old wives tales. I've also heard excessive sickness with a girl, however my mum was just like me when she was carrying me - no symptoms at all so who knows lol!!

Ooh fairy, it's funny isn't it!! But yes cheese powder is ok here too, loving wotsits and cheese and onion discos/wheat crunchies at the minute. In fact, I haven't gone a single day without eating crisps Confused worse still, yesterday, apart from a bowl of strawberries that I ended up throwing up (I had a migraine yesterday and I'm often physically sick with the pain of my migraines) I literally ate crisps all day. Oh and tried some homemade lasagne for tea, but just scraped cheese off the top as I didn't want anything else Shock

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 18:19

Oh LH sorry your ms is back Hmm hope you get some relief soon Smile try having some cheese, it's all most of us are eating at the minute Wink

Jemma2907 · 24/02/2014 18:23

Mines at 10am tomorrow Bex so glad I don't have to sit and wait all morning, what time is yours?

I'm so contemplating cheesy pizza now! I'm on my commute home from work at the mo and the walk from the station takes me past a supermarket. Very bad for impulse chocolate/fatty/carb delicious food cravings!

LH1981 · 24/02/2014 18:40

Aw thanks Bex. Making the kids cheesy chips as it's all I can manage to cook so may nick a couple. I've been craving cheese too, how weird!!

Lottiedoubtie · 24/02/2014 18:42

Cheesy chips! Why didn't I think of that? DH has just gone to the shops to buy me a healthy dinner... Bugger!

whiteblossom · 24/02/2014 18:43

I cant stand cheese!! Normally not a problem....

Chicken is helping me at the mo really helps with evening nausea. Jaffa cakes (m&s/aldi/posh ones only)

Bran flakes first thing, go down well.

Ive been naughty and bought a maternity maxi dress, it was on sale and last one...

LH I remember well from last pg- chips, esp' chippy chips are very painful when they come back up...

good luck with scans peeps x

BexBoo12 · 24/02/2014 18:44

Jemma mine is wed at 10:30, like you I'm so glad I don't have to wait all day, it would just kill me off!! I'm so excited but nervous too.

LH isn't it funny all these cheese cravings?! I've already had cheese on toast, but feel hungry again...or am I nauseous? I can never tell these days...

topmammy · 24/02/2014 18:47

I too have been eating quite a lot of cheese, I like it on toast, melted with slices of tomatoes and a dash of Worcestershire sauce!

I'm loving salt +vinegar crisps too rockin. Have them everyday at work pretty much. Kettle salt and balsamic vinegar variety, yum yum!!

P.s. I did eat an apple and an orange today too... trying to be good in between my fatty carb cravings Blush

LH1981 · 24/02/2014 18:48

Haha Lottie... There's always 2nd dinner!

Whiteblossom thanks for the advice, maybe chips not such a good idea. I've found the worst so far is apple. So innocent and yet sooo vicious!!

CumbrianExile · 24/02/2014 18:50

Mmm, Cheese and Salt and Vinegar crisp sandwich. Thanks ladies, thats tea sorted Grin

Englishgirlinwales22 · 24/02/2014 19:05

Hi
Not been around much cos the lack of symptoms (apologise to anyone suffering) almost makes me forget that I am pregnant! I have my dating scan booked for next monday when I will be 14 weeks so hopefully things will be ok and I can start to believe it a bit more.
Can I ask lucidlady, what is a harmony scan and how can you find out the sex so early? I thought you couldnt tell until at least 17 weeks.

LH1981 · 24/02/2014 19:20

Oh I so envy you English!! I can't wait to feel normal again. Hopefully only a couple more weeks and symptoms should die down.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 24/02/2014 19:35

Ewwwwww all this cheese talk, I usually love it but it's making me want to vom lol. I've got Haribo calling my name lol.xx

KatharineClover · 24/02/2014 20:04

Anyone else ordering / wearing maternity clothes? I had a new look parcel today with maternity trousers - aaah comfort! As a second timer I have a bump already, and only 1 pair of work suitable trousers I can fit into.
rockin my scan is 2 weeks today too - I'll be 13 weeks by my sums.
I saw the physio today for my SPD - it was wonderful! I saw a physio in preg no1 and another afterwards and they didn't even examine me, but today she checked all the bones of my pelvis and put the symphysis joint back into alignment - I walked out without any pain and was so happy I could cry! Feeling a little achy now, but I'm due back in a month and if I'm misaligned again she's going to teach me how to put it back into place. Very happy about the experience.
I'm starting to feel a bit less sick - I'm hoping this is the placenta taking over! And I'm also enjoying cheesy things like cheese on toast, mac and cheese and pizza like you ladies!
X

Cindy5389 · 24/02/2014 20:18

Katharineclover - I've been wearing maternity work trousers for just over a week. I'm 10w4d today. I only have a little bit of a bump but work trousers were just too uncomfortable.. Scan 2 weeks today :)

topmammy · 24/02/2014 20:47

Katherine- I almost bought some maternity things from New Look but the website just wouldn't take my money so I gave up. I'm having a look on eBay at the mo to see if I can pick up any bargains!

Still fit in my normal clothes for now. Hope the bump appears gradually so I don't get caught out and find I literally can't fit in anything one morning haha!

broodylicious · 24/02/2014 21:05

Already crying at obem intro. Don't think I'm in the frame of mind to watch this tonight....

OP posts:
TheOnlySeven · 24/02/2014 21:34

Wow there's a definite cheese theme in tonight's posts! One old wives tale is savoury cravings for a boy and sweet for a girl, it was right for DS and DD1. I had no cravings with DD2 only food aversions.

topmammy don't worry about being first. Mine have all been a month early so fully expecting the middle of August.

Lottiedoubtie · 24/02/2014 21:35

Im braving it out, think I 'should' watch it... Cried a bit at the first birth though- and that one looked straight forward?!!

DH got his headphones in and firmly watching something on his laptop- denial, not just a place in Egypt folks!

TwosaCrowd · 24/02/2014 21:38

Loving OBEM!

topmammy · 24/02/2014 22:01

Thanks Onlyseven :) I feel a bit better now!

You're all very brave watching OBEM. I am feeling far too wimpy for that! I don't like the opening intro of it where there is that crescendo of wailing. Is wailing inevitable in labour? I think I might put a sock in my mouth to stop myself lol. Grin

Lottiedoubtie · 24/02/2014 22:04

There was a birth without wailing on tonight! The woman was bizarrely calm- even sat up to try and have a look when MW said head was born.

Didn't really feel real though watching it.

KatharineClover · 24/02/2014 22:10

OBEM is a guilty pleasure for me - watched it while prepping lessons for tomorrow. The birth where the lady had a PPH (and dad missed the birth) made me feel a bit emotional, as when I had a PPH my DH is as upset as her partner (but he doesn't really talk about it), but it was reassuring to hear the midwife say they are extra prepared for it if you've had one before.

Missingcaffeine · 25/02/2014 06:49

Just checking in. It's been a busy few days at work and family all over at weekend. I was panicking on Saturday, as I had a day of feeling good with energy and hardly any nausea, and actually fancied normal food, so I thought something must be wrong if I'm loosing all my symptoms. Symptoms came back on Sunday though, with a beast of a headache to go with it, but I've definitely felt slightly better over last week. I am able to eat a few more things than I have been managing. I've even managed 2 cups of tea this week, which I hadn't touched for a month. Do you think it is normal to loose symptoms a bit this early? I'm 9+3. No scan date yet. Trousers are definitely tight. I'm wearing my loose ones to work with the button undone and wearing baggy tops to hide it! I feel huge. I think it's mainly due to the carb fest of the last month. I'm quite enjoying melted cheese too. Only mild cheese though. Congrats on those who have had scans. Bex, I really hope you can work things out with your family. It sounds like your SIL has issues, but it would be shame to let her problems spoil your relationship with the rest of the family when you have all been so close. x
