Went to get my nails done this morn (shellac, it's my one guilty pleasure every 2 weeks lol) and my mum was there too and started talking about my scan. I would not normally mind but the salon owner had just told me that her niece is in my class at school so as I haven't told school my good news yet I was desperately trying to shush my mum up haha. Don't think the owner heard. I would just rather school found out from me first! Def need to tell the head first thing Monday morn I think. Gosh it's a small world. Hmm

Nice to hear from you newly so sorry for you having such a hard time with MS. I feel almost guilty that I haven't felt even half as bad. Poor you. Fingers crossed that with 12 weeks you will be turning a corner and will feel good soon :)

rockin20s · 21/02/2014 14:39

theonlyseven i kinda blame myself for his worry. i have become completely paranoid during this pregnancy. haven't told any family yet and when i do i plan i keeping info to a minimum. wont be telling anyone about the homebirth as i know we will get grief about it.
i think my paranoia is rubbing off on him. poor thing
he will be the first of his closest friends to have a baby so i think he is thinking abou their questions: are you ready? how to you feel? etc

i think we are both very happy in our little private bubble, but we have agreed to start spreading the news after the 12 week scan which is just over 2 weeks away

TheOnlySeven · 21/02/2014 15:01

Ah I see. I've always told my mum and best friend before the scan because if anything was wrong I'd rather they knew than I had to pretend I was ok if that makes sense? Feels odd that we're telling people before I'm 12 weeks but I've had my albeit early scan and I know everything is ok so technically no reason not to.

broodylicious · 21/02/2014 16:01

Blimey ladies, my emotions are off the scale today. Crying at everything!! Not sure if any of you have seen but this week there's been a campaign about some horses being left in a disgraceful state in leicester. I know the site well and the support is unbelievable. As a horse lover, it's really got to me and I've just seen the delegation ready to protest.... Mucho tears!!! So embarrassed!!

hello ladies. have been lurking but thought I would jump on and say hi. I am nearly 11 weeks with number 2. My dd is 2.5. have been feeling pretty rough, have been sick a few times but mostly just feel very hungover ( without the fun part!). have my booking in appointment on Tues and scan at 8am on Thurs.

look forward to spending the next few months with you all. Smile

Fairypants · 21/02/2014 17:29

Hello Filey, welcome.
I'm glad of another scan mate twos but you must be cross at it being so late?
Rockin - my DH has told his pa as he needed to block time out to go to epu with me a couple of weeks ago but hasn't told anyone else. He told several people last time (and a huge group by accidental e-mail!) and had to untell them when I had a mc so being very quiet this time.
First time round DH was wary of what people would say/ask. I think it's easy to over think things in the early days but he'll probably find it easy once he's told the first person.

Poonli · 21/02/2014 18:01

Hi ladies. Had a scan today and bloods for Harmony test. I'm 10+1 and baby dud not want to cooperate to be measured. After a lot of poking and jumping up and down we got there in the end !

I was told that Harmony test can also tell you gender?!?! I wasn't told this last tear in first pregnancy. So in two weeks time I will know if it's a girl or a boy eeeekkk

Xxx

topmammy · 21/02/2014 18:25

Ooh that's so exciting about finding out the gender so early Poonli I am so impatient to know if I'm having a pink or a blue!! Gotta wait another 7 weeks though :)

waffles1990 · 21/02/2014 19:24

well I had the scan, and all is well!!!! 11+5 with a due date of 7th Sept :)

It was amazing!! Just the one in there, with a lovely little heartbeat. I'll never forget the look on my OHs face as he saw it before me, just a look of shock and amazement!!

It was wriggling all over the place aswell, would not stay still for one moment which is probably a sign of things to come.

Still can't quite believe it!

HippyJess · 21/02/2014 19:28

Ooh, exciting stuff Poonli, I'm jealous! :)

I've been a bit AWOL too, have had a rough week with nausea and headaches so haven't been doing much at all, BUT! I got my scan date through today Grin it's in less than 2 weeks, I'm so excited! That'll be here in no time!

Can't believe we're all this far along already Wink

HippyJess · 21/02/2014 19:29

Awww waffles x-posted, that's so amazing :)

topmammy · 21/02/2014 19:34

That's great news Waffles :) Mine was wiggling like crazy too and doing lots of hiccups haha.

Can anyone explain to me how one is meant to wear a bump band? I'm looking at the new look maternity clothes and have come across one, but not sure if I need one or not!?

BexBoo12 · 21/02/2014 19:40

Great news waffles!! Same (current) EDD as me x

CumbrianExile · 21/02/2014 20:30

Great news waffles. Mine was a wriggler too Grin

Is anyone else having problems stopping eating? I just feel constantly hungry! I am going to end up the size of a house if this carries on!

Inbl00m · 21/02/2014 20:38

Cumbrian I know exactly what you mean. Must have eaten close to 3000 calories today and I'm naturally small so only usually eat about 1000!

CumbrianExile · 21/02/2014 21:34

Glad I am not the only one haha!

broodylicious · 21/02/2014 21:39

How many weeks are you cumbrian? I was scoffing like mad until last week (when I hit 10 weeks).

I've had a tiny bit of nausea these last few days and leg cramps aplenty. I've also had a bit of pain on my left side, low abdominal, it's not killing me it's just uncomfortable. I wonder if I've got a little cyst there as I've read they're quite common in pregnancy. I'm sure a few girls here have them too.....anyone? I'm not mega worried as I don't have constant, crippling pain, no pain anywhere else and no bleeding or anything, just more of a question as to what it could be.

Arrrggh!! The New Look website is just shite. Have tried four times now to checkout and order some maternity clothes but it just goes back to the log in page or says it's timed out or something. Guess New look don't need my money then ha!

I don't know about the shops where you ladies live but nowhere here actually has a maternity clothing section stocked in store.

Fairypants · 21/02/2014 23:18

I've got a few shops with maternity top, but I'm in a reasonable size city (bristol). I haven't tried the bump bands yet but think they are for if you want to try and wear your normal clothes a bit longer but get gaps ie undone buttons on trousers and tops not quite covering the bump- it just fills a gap.
They hadn't invented them when I had my last dc though so don't take my word for it.

broodylicious · 22/02/2014 07:04

top I'm finding the same - I live in leicester so reasonably big city with other big cities nearby but next, h&m don't stock their maternity range. Even asda! Xx

CumbrianExile · 22/02/2014 08:39

Broody I am 12 weeks now. Its only really in the last few days I have needed to eat so much! Hopefully it doesnt last too long!

I'm in Manchester, but havent looked in too many places for maternity clothes yet. But the giant Asda near me used to do a great range, and I was looking the other day and couldnt see anything. I am hoping it was just because it was sale time.

TheOnlySeven · 22/02/2014 09:10

I'm near Norwich, the only place that stocks maternity is Mothercare. Very annoying though as Dorothy Perkins and New Look both used to stock them but don't now.

I was eating loads a couple of weeks ago as it was the only thing that stopped me feeling sick, thankfully it's now passed.

KitKat1985 · 22/02/2014 09:19

I'm eating loads. Look like a hippo already. Blush

topmammy · 22/02/2014 09:31

I think I'm eating too much too, it's really hard to stop myself!

The nearest big city to me is Hull and I had a look in next their but they don't stock maternity. Mothercare has a couple of dresses and tops but not much. I swear I've seen maternity things in my home town shops before though. Maybe it's a new thing stocking it all online and not using up shop floor space. I guess lots of styles of clothes these days are actually baggy enough to wear if pregnant lol.
