Hi everyone!
Have just skimmed thread today as feeling quite sick so forgive me if I've missed anything important.

Good luck to Appyday and IGW on your CSs. Pol, unless you drank the Thames dry yesterday, I don't see how that much fluid could be mistaken for wee especially when you heard a popping sound. Hope your lo have already arrived safe and well.

1B1B and Tassis, you must both be feeling so frustrated by now. Hope it's happening for you soon. Micromum, good luck to you too!

LC, I have heard from more than one person that epidurals can aggrevate existing back problems because you don't feel any pain when you're putting too much pressure on the particular weak spot. Your MW may advise differently as my evidence is purely anecdotal/word of mouth but maybe worth considering.

Mandaz, fingers crossed for you too! Hope your BP is under control.

Nice to hear you are well, Claire!

apwd · 06/09/2006 19:21

Hello, I've only just discovered this site. Am 38 weeks and have really enjoyed reading the threads that have been posted. It has made me realise I am not alone. I hope its ok for me to join the threads at this late stage! I'm so desperate to get this baby out!

tassis · 06/09/2006 19:46

Flumpybumpy - great that you've been given the chance to try for a VBAC - hope it works out for you.

mandaz - hope the pain in your pelvis and back is bearable and that you've not got too long to wait.

appyday - you're home!! Well done you! Hope things happen for you soon and you're not feeling too disorientated having been prepared to have had your baby by now!

homemama - sorry you're feeling sick

welcome apwd! i'm 38 weeks too. How've you been keeping?

Nothing happening here. Just enjoying time with ds. He's being really cute and funny at the moment. We had a lovely time at the park this afternoon. I'm loving having 2.5 hours to myself each day while he's at pre-school nursery. Amazing how much you can get done in that time without a LO!

clairemow · 06/09/2006 19:59

Marls, love your photos - great idea about before and after!! Jameson Alexander looks great. And you look fab as well! . I've added some pics now of us all and Fraser.

Puppy, great photos too!

Right, catching up now...

Flumpy, here are some positive vibes for your VBAC...

OMG Appyday!! What a day for you - you must be one bag of mixed emotions.

Mandaz, love your names, esp Georgia Rose. Georgia was on our list as well until scan showed the little man's bits!! Forgot to say yesterday, really like the Hungarian names as well Petrified.

Think Pol must have had the baby by now... Waiting for announcement!

tassis · 06/09/2006 20:01

Oh, meant to say that I see IGW has had her boy - Eoin - there's a Birth Announcement thread. Well done IGW!!

mabel1973 · 06/09/2006 20:56

appyday - good news about being given a weeks grace - lets hope things happen fairly soon.
Marls - lovely pics!
IPDW - welcome!
Mandaz - hope your back pain sorts itself out.
I really don't feel any closer to having this baby than I did this time last week, keep getting twinges - very very low down, but nothing approaching contractions since sunday night.
Have taken double dose of raspberry leaf tea tonight and tommorow I start the pineapple diet - with my midwifes lovely bedside manner I can't think of anything worse than her giving me a sweep. If the worst comes to the worst I'm afraid i'll have to try sex...

liquidclocks · 06/09/2006 21:09

He remembered! [liquid hangs head in shame for lack of faith]

My lovely DH came home from work with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me - he thought I'd forgotten! So I gave him his card and prezzie (got him a lovely top) and a big kiss! He's making dinner now... yummy!

Mandaz - good to hear from you, was worried you'd gone into hospital again. I love Georgia Rose, it jus flows so well! And I'm sure you'll be a lovely mummy!

Welcome apwd - hoep you don't find us all too scary! When are you due/know what you're having etc? tell us a bit about yourself

Homemama - thanks for the advice re epi's and beck trouble - I've got a 'history' with my back and they didn't mention anything last time but I'm going to call the physio tomorrow so I'll ask her.

Pol - hope that baby's wrapped up warm in a blanket by now!

Tassis - can't believe yours isn't here yet or 1b1bs! All these warning signs and no results!

I finally went and saw GP today about migraine meds, he's given me amitriptyline (so I'll be very happy, no PND for me!) and told me I can carry on with my immigran. Just waiting on go ahead from breastfeeding network's drugline and then I'll be set! I also asked about the 'snip snip' for DH and he said no problem, free in our area and only 2 month wait - DH very happy (in one way...).

liquidclocks · 06/09/2006 21:17

Appyday - missed your post for some reason - that's great news! BUT - breaking your waters to induce is by no means 'gentle' - it results in close together very strong contractions, don't want to scare you but think you should know before you agree to it. I had it last time and had an epi a few hours in as I couldn't cope with the lack of recovery time between contractions. Once they've done it as well you have to be strapped up to a monitor all the time so you get virtually no mobility. - talk to your m/w more about what your hospital's policies are regarding mobility/epidurals etc before you have it.

pol26 · 06/09/2006 21:26

Fed up here and in tears No baby yet and they say 'my waters in front of waters' -yes, very technically, might have broken. That is why I soaked through three bath towels and three changes of clothes and a whole pack of pads.

Scan showed enouigh water to satify them to send me home and -wait and see-... not exactly what I wanted.

Fed up here and pains now gone to ten mins apart.

liquidclocks · 06/09/2006 21:29

awww Pol - big big to you, I hope something happens soon.

tassis · 06/09/2006 21:41

Oh pol, I'm so sorry, I was sure your next post was going to be a birth announcement. You must be so tired, I hope you get some rest tonight.

LC - Happy Anniversary! So glad he remembered.

pol26 · 06/09/2006 21:52

Well i'm fed up!!! Contractions all over the place too and just fed up.

compo · 07/09/2006 09:04

Oh Pol - how frustrating. Really hoping something happens for you today. Congratulations to Intergalactus
and welcome to apwd - let us know your due date and I'll add you to the list.
Well I'm off to the hairdressers today - last time I had my hair cut at this stage I was feeling really hot and asked the hairdresser to take loads off and ended up with a very stylish cut that I couldn't manage on my own so looked a sight in all the new baby photos with ds Hoping that the same doesn't happen again today!!!

apwd · 07/09/2006 12:25

Hi! Thanks for the welcome! I'm due on 21st Sept which is 2 weeks today. so just reached 38 today. Its my second pregnancy.
Am keeping well but I have so many aches and pains. Does anyone else feel like the baby is pushing right down with its head?! It hurts actually. MW says its 4/5ths palpable but I didn't think this happened in second pregnancy?

Tassis - I too have a DS at playgroup on a morning and am getting all my cleaning done which is nice.

1Baby1Bump · 07/09/2006 12:29

hi apwd and welcome.
sorry youre uncomfortable. i dont remember first preg being this bad, do you?!
what does apwd stand for, as no one else has asked!

liquidclocks · 07/09/2006 12:45

Hello everyone!

Apwd - exactly how I feel, midwife said yesterday that he's not engaged yet but I can feel him 'down there!

Really hope things get moving for those of you at due date and beyond. I have decided now that my rush to get baby out is nothing to do with the baby and more to do with being completely and totally p*ssed off with having to work still. I've paid for DS to have an extra day at nursery today and I'm still not getting anything done! I'm going to land in big trouble if I don't get off my backside this afternoon! TBH if baby is 2 weeks late I really don't mind - I still have 2 bedrooms and the hall stairs and landing to decorate, not to mention making christmas cards, loads of stuff in DS's scrap book etc etc. I just want to not have to think about work!!!! (sorry for ranting, feeling totally depressed today, just want to go sit in the garden and I can't coz I have to be at computer)

Clairemow and Marls - really pleasedyour LO's are doing well. Claire, I finally saw your piccys today and he's so lovely! Your DS1 looks so sweet too, reading him a book!

btw - anyone else think this thread's getting a bit long again - even my broadband is struggling! Title suggestions for a new one?
