1Baby1Bump · 24/08/2006 14:09

i rang them in the end. she says a lot of people report the noise but unless there is any water loss it cant be waters.
the more ive thought about it the more i realise it felt like when waters went with ds.
the babe is large so i thought maybe he is pressing against the exit to stop it coming out.
i forgot her name, but a lady has posted on my noise thread saying it could be my pelvis cracking but to me it def felt like cervix.
oh well, i will lie down or something and then get up and see if anything appears!

pol26 · 24/08/2006 14:25

1b1b- I understood that you could have two sets of waters or have I dreampt it? If you're are worried tho please ring your mw again... it's what they are there for and i'm thinking of you.

On the baby front here, still in two minds about calling my mw about the 43 measurement thing. Just worrying about it all. Especially when on my 13 week scan I had a fibroid 3.5cm x 4cm and when I asked on the second scan she said she couldn't see it. Well, my second scan was at 23+6 weeks so maybe the baby could've been hiding the firbroid and the sonographer didn't seem too bothered when I asked she said 'I can't see one' without really even looking. So after reading on various website large measurements can be lax muscles in your uterus, gestational dibetes (i'm overweight and didn't get blood results from 28weeks), or fibroid... Unsure whether to call mw but she is a bit of a dragon and don't want to end up in tears or arguing with her...

Just had a pain but not getting my hopes up... this Sunday it will of been happening for two weeks... Oh well, good news is that the mw said she couldn't see me making the appointment with my consultant on the 4th.

Roll on getting this baby out!!!

liquidclocks · 24/08/2006 14:49

1b1b - hope something happens so you get an answer!

Pol - call your midwife! You'll only worry over the weekend if you don't, worth checking the measurement again just to be sure.

Just caught DS eating margerine straight from the tub! Toddlers eh?!

mandaz · 24/08/2006 15:35

Hi all,

Puppy - Actually, I'm not too far from Wakefield but I'm afraid the cheese scones have gone now. So sorry

Angeliz - Congratulations! Hope you are recovering well and enjoying your new arrival

Appyday - I hope things are going ok for you.

Well, I'm soooo glad I went to see the mw on Wed! I knew something was up when I bypassed the cue of pg women in the waiting area. They checked my bp twice and got it to 138/98 which is a tad on the high side! I was sent to the hospital, got there at 2.30 and was there until 10.30pm last night. I had some protein in my urine and my bp was high although it did come down from what it had been in the morning. I was given the option of staying in and being seen today or going home and coming back in so I decided to have a nights sleep in my own bed. Went back in today and bp is still high. They took yet more bloods and I've been told I need to go back in tomorrow morning where they'll do bp checks over a period of time and also monitor the baby's heartbeat. If my bp is still high then I'll probably be in for 24 hour obs. I feel really bad though as my parents were due to go away this weekend and I was supposed to be looking after my Nan. If I go in then they'll have to cancel they're trip so am feeling terribly guilty, but what can you do? So, I'm going to chill out for the rest of the day and see what tomorrow brings.

Hope everyone else is ok

tassis · 24/08/2006 15:37

1B1B - I can't find your thread. is it on Pregnancy? or Childbirth? Sorry!

Pol - def call your midwife...

clairemow · 24/08/2006 15:59

1b1b, I couldn't find your thread either

Pol, call your midwife. It is so not worth worrying about things if you don't need to, and if there is a problem, then you are best off knowing about it... Hope all is ok.

Mandaz, don't worry about your parents' weekend - they will be happier that you are in the best place for you at this time. worrying won't help your bp to go down! I hope everything is ok.

It seems it's all hotting up now with all these things going on... Nothing happening here at all. Oh well. Been walking alot today to try and get things moving a bit. Sigh.

appyday · 24/08/2006 16:21

well, here I am again. 1b1b hope you're ok, and something positive happens to put your mind at rest.
Mandaz good luck for tomorrow.
I have been manipulated and monitored,Doc says bum down MW says money on head down, either way if it stays like it for 2 more days I can go home.Fell asleep at 6am was woken at 7 when someone came to get water jug so very, very tired, but pub only 5 mins away so they let me escape with DD andDH for lunch.
Hope everyone else is fine and resting!

1Baby1Bump · 24/08/2006 16:30

thanks for all your kind wishes.
i put my thread in pregnancy and its called:
'ok ladies. tell me what this noise was at 6am thismorning'
or something like that. i will find it and bump it.

Marls001 · 24/08/2006 19:24

Liquid - LOL, LOL at your DS eating margarine straight out from the tub! That's why I like this site ... sure to make me feel better

... feeling today; have a migraine that started last night and DH at work plus going to a celebratory work function afterward for their good quarter ... This morning as he left I said I didn't know how I could do it today with DS as hyper as he is; I was nearly crying; can tell DH is stuck though; what can he do? Has to go to work and make an appearance at this thing tonight. He's working harder than he ever has. I would rather have my job than his, but days like this ... just feeling SO tired ...

Last pg when I got a migraine, it was a sign of dehydration and high bp - was taken to hospital and pumped full of fluids (and some narcotic that I hated; felt like 3 margaritas in the space of 2 seconds); kept there overnight. Have called Dr. but hopefully that's not what this is this time; I don't know. Waiting for return call.

Hate to be feeling overwhelmed right now. Hate to be giving DH something else to think about besides the pressure he already has at work. Hate feeling helpless and in pain. Okay. Rant over. But get this day over too!!

pol26 · 24/08/2006 20:09

Feelinf fed up too!!! GRRRR and just willing to get to the end and decided to DEFINATELY call my mw tomorrow and ask her what she thinks becasue i'm not sleeping properly anyhow and with the added worry about my measurement has made me sleep even less...

Glad that appyday is feeling alittle better, hope your sleep is slightly better this night.

For those with bp probs, I had them last time with DD and know how annoying it can be- especially having to stay in hospital.

liquidclocks · 24/08/2006 20:23

Pol - pleased to hear you're going to call your regular midiwfe even though she's scary, I hope she can help you a bit.

Marls - It's so hard to do days with a toddler and a migraine - hope you manage ok - cocodamal is safe in pg and might take the edge off it for you. Hope it goes soon.

Mandaz - did wonder wherey ou were last night as you're usually so regular at posting and you'd said about the BP - hope the checks tomorrow go ok. Don't worry about your mum and dad, I'm sure they'll be disappointed not to go bt you're their little girl and you're carrying their grandchild and I'm sure they'd rather make sure you're ok than leave for the weekend worrying about you both, as you say - what can you do? These things happen in pg.

Well I went for my last walk around town today - had really strong BH's every couple of 100 metres and was exhausted after I'd done the basics - I was going to buy some birthday presents for people with them around when I'm due but I gave up - will be sending money instead! Did manage to get to boots and book my TENS machine though, can't wait till it's safe to use, my hip's still causing me grief even through the codeine. DS keptdoing something that had me a bit perplexed - every time we saw a pigeon he shouted 'oh nooooo', we got a bit stared at! Anyone think of a reason why or do other people's toddlers do this?

Bye for now - went to halfpriceorless.com and bought lots of fig rolls - mmmmmmm.....

tassis · 24/08/2006 20:38

Sorry to hear about your BP mandaz. Hope it's down tomorrow. Trust you're doing nothing tonight.

appyday - great that they let you out for lunch. Hope you sleep better tnoght and that your LO stays still!

Marls - can you call a friend to help out? So sorry you're feeling rough.

Ds is tired and grotty after a busy few days. My parents are over from Ireland and he's just had a bit too much excitement over the past few days. They're taking him to the safari park tomorrow which is fantastic for me to have a day off, but I know he'll be past it when he gets home...

Just ate a bag of Thorntons choc covered toffees and baby is going MENTAL!!

Myrtle1 · 24/08/2006 21:14

Congratulations Angeliz!

Liquidclocks and Compo - when are your babys due? Mine is 26th September and I'm feeling envious of all the ladies who are nearing their due dates too.

Compo- I'm on iron tablets and my HB had dropped to 9.5. I had bloods again last week and phoned up today for results. The DR receptionist was quite stroppy with me cos the line was faint and she couldn't hear me and she kept snapping at me - it must be my emotions going wild but felt stupidly tearful after hanging up as I was hoping to find out what HB level was but didn't dare ask!

I finish work tomorrow which I'm kind of looking forward to but I'm really going to miss all my friends there. I am looking forward to lying in all next week though!

liquidclocks · 24/08/2006 21:45

My DD is the 28th - I reckon I'll be one of the last to pop! (but secretly hoping not!)

Flumpybumpy · 25/08/2006 08:23

Hi, new to this thread, hope you don't mind if I jump in

Have a 3yr old DD and 2nd LO due 16th Sept, but nesting like mad. Got the most painful hips ever and well and truly ready for this LO to come out.

Hoping for a VBAC but you never know. Think I have read every bit of advice about VBA's but still feel nervous. Laboured for 36hrs with DD1 and ended up at only 8cm so had an emergency c/s.

Anyway, enjoying the thread girls

compo · 25/08/2006 09:02

Hi FlumpyBumpy
My due date is 12th September. We should really do a list of due dates and babies that have arrived already!!
We're going to Toys R Us tomorrow to have a look at double pushchairs. Like the sound of the Phil and Ted but not sure if Toys R Us sell it. We don't think a side by side one will fit down our alleyway so might have to go for a one in front of the other one. Really want to get everything sorted out now and dh is driving me mad with his 'we've got plenty of time' attitude!!!

Vindy · 25/08/2006 09:09

Hi FB
I'm also new to this thread - due 6th Seoptember and wish I'd found it earlier.

Just to let you know my Mum had an emergency C Section with me and then natural births with both my brothers and this was when the midwives were a lot less sympathetic. She said that she wished that she had been allowed to remember it was her first vaginal birth and so second stage would take as long and be as difficult as a first timer rather than the second timer her midwives treated her like.

I hope this helps.

Flumpybumpy · 25/08/2006 09:09

Hi Compo, I have just bought a Phil & Ted's from a lovely lady here on Mumsnet.

it is brilliant!!! I currently job-share with my best friend and we both split the working up to 2.5 days each. She looks after DD when i work i look after her DS when she works. She now has a DS2 who is 4.5mths and is due back to work end of Sept. So come October I will be looking after her DS1 who is 5, my DD1 who is 3, her DS2 who will be 6mths and my DC2!! So I really needed a double for her DS and mine.

Have used a side-by-side in the past and couldn't get round shops etc... so got rid of it.

Try and scan for bargains, they sell on ebay fairly cheaply but if you can hold out you may get a better deal.

compo · 25/08/2006 09:12

liquidclocks · 25/08/2006 09:37

Wow - newbies still! Hello!

Good idea compo - thanks for adding me. Re phil and teds when you go looking don't forget I got a brand new one inc storm cover and cocoon for £360 so if you can't beat that let me know and I'll give you the shop details. I'm sure they could send one to you for not very much extra. The other contender for me was the Jane powertwin which is another 3 wheeler but takes a car seat too. Did take DS out in the phil and teds yesterday and still love it!

Having a little problem with DS at the moment - every time the lady presenter for razzledazzle comes on he gets really sacared and runs to me sobbing! I can avoid the program but not the trailers - poor little guy. Anyone else's LO's inexplicably scared of seemingliy harmless things on tv?

mummyhill · 25/08/2006 09:57

Gate crashing from last year September thread to wish you all the best of luck.

Liquid, my DD can't stand the upsaide down show. She goes mad even if she sees a trailer.

Have to run to telly to turn it off to avoid a major upset by DD!!

tassis · 25/08/2006 10:03

thanks mummyhill!

myrtle - enjoy your last day at work.

Did you all see the Angeliz has posted a birth announcement in which she reveals the gory detils and the name?

Welcome Vindy and FlumpyBumpy. FB - I have a 3 year old, sore hips and serious nesting going on too. Hope you get your VBAC. You're really going to be busy come October with 4 wee ones - brave woman!

Happy pushchair shopping compo - I love the P&T.

Ds is off to safari park with grandparents - I have 2 hours to do jobs so must dash! Some lovely friends have organised a Baby Shower for me tonight and several friends are arriving for that this afternoon. Can't wait to see them all!

Have just moved all the clothes from one set of cupboards to another because I think it'll be more organised. DH getting more amused at random acts of weirdness. Also, best friend came to stay for two days and had to watch me clean kitchen cupboards without being allowed to help at all. Anyone else feel like they are just watching themselves do the strangest things?
