How fast do we get through these threads?

Great news cakentea!!

PinaColadas · 04/02/2014 16:02

Loving all the fabulous news! Today definately gets the record for most scans.
I'm find time is going quicker now although 20 week scan seems like a lifetime away!

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 04/02/2014 16:19

Great news on all the scans! We really are moving into the next stage now, aren't we? I've started thinking about logistics re. cots, prams etc - do we use what we've got or will DD still need it, or should we get a double buggy, etc etc...

I've started telling people at work and have already had two people say "Was it planned?" Angry Of course I smiled sweetly and answered the question, while wishing I could call them out on their rudeness! Can't really complain though as the reactions have all been congratulatory and I know some people have stories of friends being upset or angry when they are told.

22honey · 04/02/2014 16:29

Hi all, thought I'd post here I'm 22 I've been lurking on this thread for several weeks, I've been an absolute nervous wreck since finding out I was pregnant just before NYE! I had an ectopic pregnancy last July which had a subsequent twin in the right place (after about 18 months of ttc!), I obviously lost both babies and it was an utterly awful experience that went on for about a month or more with trips to the hospital, methoxtrate (sp?) injection that made me feel like crap...it was my first pregnancy and I was devastated at losing it, I wasnt feeling good about being pregnant again and was convinced it was more bad news, I felt like I just didnt want a scan and didnt want to know as it was so awful last time I had one...the anxiety this morning and last night really came to ahead, nervewracking!

But today the long wait was over and I had my 12 week scan, am 12+2 weeks due around 14th August and baby was fine and moving about loads! Even got a free picture and am feeling so happy but worrying yet again something will happen during the next 8 weeks till the 20 week scan...guess its just motherhood and I'll be worrying for the rest of my life...was amazing and so sweet seeing my little baby moving around inside me and he/she looks so cute on the picture like they have a big smile on their face despite obviously still being a tiny bub!

Just wanted to share my happy news with everyone here and congratulations on the good scans you have all had :D Me and DP are over the moon, now its just dealing with the overenthusiastic inlaws, but thats for another thread!!

Wishing anyone with a scan coming up the best of luck :D xxxx

2beornot · 04/02/2014 16:39

22honey - welcome!! Many congratulations, it must have been a long 12 weeks, but you're over one major hurdle! It's so lovely to see them moving about on the screen, isn't it?!

22honey · 04/02/2014 16:46

2beornot yes it was really long and I've been feeling really rough the entire time aswell, I managed to cope by trying not to think much about being pregnant, but once all the appointments start and with the scan looming today, its pretty impossible not to think about it !

It is lovely I found it crazy seeing it moving around yet iv barely a bump and cant feel it. Luckily she told me there was a good heartbeat pretty much as soon as she put the US on my belly, so that calmed me quite a bit, the best part though was seeing the baby and getting the photo!

Thanks for the welcome :)

londonchick · 04/02/2014 16:58

My sonographer told me about the heartbeat straight away too so that really helped! I thought it'd take ages!!

mssleepyhead · 04/02/2014 17:04

Damn. Totally just bought a Doppler. Stupid amazon gift certificate and £19 Doppler! I know know know it's a bad idea and it'll worry me more than anything... But... It'll be nice. If it works.

This two week wait for my scan is killing me. If another person smiles sweetly and tells me it'll be fine I might just punch them. It's not that easy! Sigh.

But! Thrilled to hear about all the good scans today. Great news everyone!! X

Finnable · 04/02/2014 17:14

So lovely reading of all your scan news today! I'm a bit jealous... Mine's a week tomorrow, coming around slowly!

Anyone bought any New Look mat jeans? If so, how long are they? I'm only 5'4" and would like some I don't have to hem!

Ruggle · 04/02/2014 17:25

Finnable, New Look do different lengths. I've just ordered some 30" leg jeans. I'm only 5'1" but I have long legs for my height. 31" would be better but they seem only to have 28, 30, 32 and 34.

Owlysims · 04/02/2014 17:34

Great news everyone :)

lucyfluff · 04/02/2014 17:38

Finn we are scan date buddies Smile

I know how you feel mssleepy...it feels like forever that I got a bfp...just want the scan here like now!!!!

Finnable · 04/02/2014 18:15

Thanks Ruggle I'll have a look now! I'm not that short really, but must have stumpy legs for my height as I always have a problem...

Lucy - how exciting! What time's your appt? I will think of you!

lucyfluff · 04/02/2014 18:45

Awww its 10.50am...to be precise Smile how about you?? I think bunny is on the same day too!

I cant wait for next week to hurry up!!!!

mssleepyhead · 04/02/2014 18:49

Ladies, sorry for the TMI moment but I've just found a bit of brown discharge in my underwear. Not much at all, a smudge really, and nothing when I wipe. I'm 11 weeks. This happened at 7 weeks and I have a scan and all was fine. How worried should I be on a scale of 1 - 10...?
Thank you x

Owlysims · 04/02/2014 18:58

Mssleepy, how many weeks are you again? Sorry I'm crap at remembering, I had it at 8 and had a scan and then again at 10. They still wanted to scan me to check all was okay. I'm sure it's fine but I would still ring midwife for them to check for you Thanks

mssleepyhead · 04/02/2014 19:04

I'm 11 weeks. I know it's probably nothing but I am nervous. I also know this is really stupid but it's also hard for me to get time off work when the EPU is open. And I know that's really a stupid thing for me to be thinking, but I can't stop thing it.

Owlysims · 04/02/2014 19:19

Well tbh I think it's nothing, and I'm sure all is okay BUT they did say to me even though it's happened twice and the scan was fine twice I should call if it happened again. Just to be sure. But obviously depends how you feel, how many days until your scan? Do you feel you'll worry lots? Thanks

mssleepyhead · 04/02/2014 19:22

It's still 2 weeks till my scan. I just found a place in Central London which could scan me tomorrow night but of course it's the tube strike so I don't think I could get there! I might book a scan for the weekend...

Owlysims · 04/02/2014 19:38

I think if you can afford it a private scan would be a very good idea as I'm sure all is well but it will lay of your mind for the next two weeks and you don't want to be worry yourself for no reason! But as I say I really think all is okay :) ThanksThanks

sillymeagain · 04/02/2014 19:51

Just checking in to add my scan news. ..all is well had a wiggly baby that wouldn't keep still but meant they kepttaking pipictures and we ended up with 11 of them! Nt measurement really good and edd changed to 10 Feb so 13 + 2 now.

So happy and relieved and told thw children who were really excited.

Sounds like a record scan day ended being even more people than it started with. ..9 or 10? And I think all went well...hooray! Congratulations everyone else that had scans.

flusteredmumto2 · 04/02/2014 20:09

Scan went great. Got to see baby bear and he had a very strong heartbeat though he was being awkward and they couldn't do the nuchal fold measurements. Guess this kind of makes ot official. In 6 months I'll have another baby! Due date has moved 3 days so now due the 16th August.

2beornot · 04/02/2014 20:15

Hi ladies. Has a discussion with DH about finding out the sex. He wants to, is prefer not. The practical solution is to find out so we can sort out all the girls clothes we've got either way

Anyway........we've decided that we'll book a 4d private scan and take dd along too. Then we'll ask the sonographer to tell dd who can tell us!

Does that sound lovely or incredibly twee?!

mssleepyhead · 04/02/2014 20:34

I've talked to DH and showed him my pants (seriously - what have I become?!) and we've agreed its so light it's barely there. Also stopped now. So, we're going to save our £100 and carry on as we were until the 17th. If it's bad news, it will be bad news whether we wait or not so we may as well just see what happens. Or something else sensible that DH said that I seem to have agreed with...! I just need these weeks to be over...

Abimci · 04/02/2014 20:37

I have had such a frustrating day! Was supposed to be out of class for my planning day which we only get once every 2 weeks. Spent all morning in meetings, then got told I had to take my class swimming as the teacher who covers was out (no apology for lack of communication or reassurance I'll get the time back.) So went swimming only to find out there's a problem with the pool but they hadn't called to let the school know. So then had to come back with a class of frustrated kids, 2 of whom had a fight on the way back.

To top it off I get a call from the hospital asking why I never showed up to my scan. To which I replied that the appointment is for next Tues ( at least it is on the letter they sent me!) so she said ok i'll book you in for next week! I would have loved to have my scan today but that's pretty hard if they give me the wrong date isn't it!

So now have another weekend of lying to people who we are going out with when we could have found out today what's happening and hopefully told them. This is going to seem a very long 7 days now!

Rant over, hoping tomorrow is a better day! Glad others had a much better day and good news on scans. Think it's early night for me...
