How fast do we get through these threads?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mssleepyhead · 20/02/2014 22:28

That's good - my 12 week scan was so late at 13+2 it didn't give us much time to respond otherwise! We'll be going back to the FMC if we need to; they did our private scan and were brilliant. Fingers crossed we won't need it though.

flymo79 · 21/02/2014 16:20

as no-one's been posting today (sniff) I'm here to say HAPPY FRIDAY everyone. Really looking forward to the weekend and putting my feet up.
Anyone else feeling heavy-legged already???

HungryHorace · 21/02/2014 16:40

It is quiet today, isn't it?!

I just get weary if I walk too far (which isn't far!) but not heavy legged as such.

Owlysims · 21/02/2014 17:16

I think it's so quiet as everyone is on Facebook!! GrinGrin

travispickles · 21/02/2014 17:21

I'm not! How do I do it again?

HungryHorace · 21/02/2014 17:32

PM me, Travis. I need your real name and description of your profile picture!

Shakshuka · 21/02/2014 18:04

Happy Friday!

So glad it's here! We had a fab weekend away in DC and met an old friend who also had a third girl after a long break. Her baby is a year old and her older girls are now 10 and 14 so we got lots of tips! They made us feel really positive about it all.

I think it's quiet because it's also a quiet time in the pregnancy. Most of us are feeling (a bit) better and mostly all done with the 12 week scans.

I'm getting a little concerned because I'm sure I had been feeling the baby and now I can't. I have a dr's appointment on Tuesday and hope she can find the heartbeat!

mssleepyhead · 21/02/2014 18:09

Ah, I'm not going to be joining you guys on Facebook, but I'll keep coming by here! I'm happy because I bought my first maternity trousers today and when I tried them on up they were HEAVEN. I didn't realise how uncomfortable my regular trousers were till I tried them on. I might never take them off... : )

2beornot · 21/02/2014 18:17

Evening all!!!

Totally knackered after a day with dd.

I agree with Shak - there's not a lot going on the our pg, is there? I've got scan in 4 weeks, gtt&midwife in 11 weeks.

Got a letter to say I'm not immune to rubella and should stay away from anyone with German measles. I don't think I've known anyone to ever have it, so think I'll be ok!!!

Secretlypregnant · 22/02/2014 07:24

Morning everyone, hope you have all got a good weekend lined up.

I keep veering between thinking I felt movement and worrying if everything is ok!

I've got my maternity clothes down from the loft now and am living in the trousers too, mssleepyhead. Also looking forward to wearing my maternity coat again - it was my one indulgent brand new purchase last time and I love it. Wish they did a non maternity version!

PinaColadas · 22/02/2014 08:58

Happy Saturday everyone :)

I love my maternity trousers for work, very comfy. A lot of the time I'm wearing dresses I used to wear because they're all quite floaty so should get away with them for a while.

Not sure if to get over or under bump jeans, thinking over are comfier but is it a bad idea when we're having summer babies, will they be too hot?

Secretlypregnant · 22/02/2014 10:03

I found under comfier last time, Pina, even in the winter. I think a lot of people do prefer over, but it's tricky because you can't really know until you start wearing them! The only thing I could stand to wear over the bump was a pair of very soft jersey wide-legged trousers for around the house - quite warm and loose. I think it was the feeling of being 'held in' by the beans band I couldn't bear.

I'm thinking that by the time it's mid summer and we're massive and boiling hot, jeans will be the last thing we will feel like wearing anyway, whether over or under the bump! I am expecting to be in loose dresses or cropped trousers most of the time!

PinaColadas · 22/02/2014 10:31

Yes that's very true! So one pair of jeans for the spring is probably my best bet. I know my mum has bought me a couple of summer dresses for my birthday in a few weeks so hopefully I won't need too much else

mssleepyhead · 22/02/2014 11:30

My jeans have just been delivered by the post man. The band looks a bit big at the moment but I've folded it in two and that's worked well. I love them already. I don't want to ever wear anything else again.

mssleepyhead · 22/02/2014 11:39

also in the post - nuchal fold results. would have been nervous to open them but didn't think it could possibly be them so soon (scan was only on monday!). happily 1/6,900 so that's some good news : ) can't wait to start feeling the little one start to wriggle now so i can feel more excited. at the moment i'm still feeling anxious and like it's all a bit unreal. when does that go away??

Secretlypregnant · 22/02/2014 15:20

I meant jeans not beans earlier!

Great news, mssleepyhead! So pleased for you.

Once you can feel the baby moving daily it feels more real. And then later on when you're lying on the bath and you see your belly move - crazy! I loved it.

travispickles · 22/02/2014 16:49

But the worry doesn't go! I remember having kick free days later and drinking juice and worrying!

weeza13 · 22/02/2014 19:33

I have also moved into under bump jeans but do find I have to keep hoiking them up at the back if I bend over. Am finding trackie bottoms comfy but only in the house, not suitable for work.I too have found myself getting very tired very quickly after not doing much, went for a walk today to make the most of the sun but find needing the loo a lot a bit of a hinderance. Heard from an old friend today who has just had twins, non induced in her 40th week weighing 6+ and 8+, makes me think I shouldn't really moan about any of my pregnancy if she can do that naturally!

Shakshuka · 22/02/2014 20:10

good news mssleepyhead. It's always such a relief!

I haven't yet got any maternity clothes although my jeans are getting tighter (and my 'skinny' ones don't fit at all). I'd lost nearly a stone just before I'd got pregnant so I'm finding that, apart from a couple of items I'd bought just before, my clothes are still OK as they were a bit loose. I think I'll try and hold on as much as possible to see what kind of bump I have. I found that some clothes, depending on how they deal with the bump issue(!), were far more comfy than others. I got very big with both my pregnancies and stuff which had fitted earlier was leaving me with a cold bump (I had winter babies)!

Missvaughan85 · 22/02/2014 20:17

I'm currently passing between worry and not giving it a second thought. I didn't or should I say sonographer didn't mention nucheal measurement and I stupidly didn't ask. So that opportunity has now come and gone so it's only the blood test left at 16 weeks. I'm just worried that there's something wrong and I don't know about it

weeza13 · 22/02/2014 20:25

Thank you for the info on the harmony test. Got downs numbers back last week and it seems good, 1\7258. prob too late for harmony test now as I am 17 weeks. Did not notice on paperwork from 12 week scan that due date had changed until midwife mentioned it 5 weeks later at the appointment so that was a surprise, All I read on scan info was the words 'normal' and all important parts were visible. Have now moved to July 29th from Aug 3rd.

Secretlypregnant · 22/02/2014 20:49

Great news, Weeza13! Those are great results. Smile.

Missvaughan85, I'm sure everything is fine, but if you do find yourself unable to shake off the worry, just to let you know the Harmony test is still available to you now - it's not the same thing as the nuchal which can only be done within a certain window.

Owlysims · 22/02/2014 21:15

It's strange isn't it how everyone feels different about under/over bump! I HATE under bump and have no idea how people could find them comfy I love the feeling of my bump being supported even in this early stage (15 weeks) and continued to feel that way with dd. I have had a shopping spree for maternity wear today (went a bit mad) so am totally sorted now until it gets hot hot hot!! (Feeling optimistic!!)

great news on results etc!!

mssleepyhead · 22/02/2014 22:07

I really wish that I hadn't googled what my baby bump is now, given my uterus is still super low. Displaced abdominal fat. LOVELY!

Lissbug · 22/02/2014 22:12

managed to give someone a nice shock today. went to pregnancy yoga, which i knew a girl i know through work has been going to. she told me she was pregnant a few weeks ago but i didn't want to tell her i was then as i hadn't had my test results. i walked in there today and you should have seen her face! it was so funny. :-) what is really nice is she lives 2 roads from me so we will be off on maternity leave at the same time.
went to try and find maternity trousers today. no luck finding anything comfortable enough though. i have some over the bump maternity leggings which i love. want something really comfy that is suitable for the office. any suggestions???
