Oooh - and I love re new baby gap paddington range!!

HungryHorace · 20/02/2014 11:21

Don't be making me look at bloody Gap!!

And I'm naughty...had another sneaky listen. HB about 156 bpm. Girl?!

2beornot · 20/02/2014 11:35

Supposedly, hungry. Mine was 152 at midwife appt at week 16, and midwife said girl straight away. If you google it though it says that's a myth. Guess we'll find out sooner or later!!

HungryHorace · 20/02/2014 11:50

DD was always high 140s / 150s, so that's all I have experience of!

Just have to wait and see. :-)

Lissbug · 20/02/2014 12:31

Hi all. Sorry for the radio silence. Got v nervous about my Harmony test results. Had the nuchal scan and test results at 12+6 a week ago and all is well. Phew. Also found out its a boy and apparently he is very feisty!
Have now told work which is a relief as I can say goodbye to waterfall cardies and scarves. I look enormous!
At home yesterday and today with a cold and nosebleeds. Apparently they are more common in pregnancy due to greater blood volume and a runny nose increases the chances of getting them. Oh joy! Am on hot honey and lemon and ginger. Any other tips for getting rid of the cold ASAP?

travispickles · 20/02/2014 12:33

Mine was147. Hope another girl, but a boy would be nice too!

flymo79 · 20/02/2014 12:52

congrats Lissbug! must be a big relief!!

HungryHorace · 20/02/2014 13:05

That's great news, Lissbug. You should find the most recent list and make sure you're on there. :-)

londonchick · 20/02/2014 14:10

Great news Lissbug!

Owlysims · 20/02/2014 14:12

Great news :)

2beornot · 20/02/2014 15:29

Fantastic newsLissburg! I'm completely blocked up most of the time!! I was like this towards the end with dd (jan baby) so I'm hoping it's part pg, part winter. DH says my snoring is already bad so we're both hoping it doesn't get worse!!!

mssleepyhead · 20/02/2014 15:39

well - "people" now know! best outcome ever with the friend i was so worried about telling... i turned up and she was sporting a baby on board badge! she has a 12 week scan on wednesday. what a relief!

2beornot · 20/02/2014 15:42

Mssleepy - that really is brilliant news! I've actually welled up!!

flymo79 · 20/02/2014 16:04

aw, mssleepy, that is amazing news! made my day

Lissbug · 20/02/2014 16:06

Thanks everyone. Such a relief me being an older mum and all the higher risks you gave as a result.
Tobeornot. Husband has temporarily relocated to the spare room to avoid the snoring and general snivelling!
Has anyone started pregnancy yoga yet? Now I am 14 weeks i will be going to my first class on Saturday. Can't wait! Have had terrible backache from sitting in my office chair. And it's supposed to be a good one for people with back issues!
Mssleepy. How wonderful! You must have been so excited and relieved!

mssleepyhead · 20/02/2014 16:10

it totally made my day! still the big scan to get through on wednesday but we had the nicest lunch ever comparing notes and symptoms and generally beaming. i couldn't stop telling her how happy i was. what a relief!!

Secretlypregnant · 20/02/2014 16:25

Absolutely delighted for you, Lissbug - I had the Harmony test too and am so, so glad I did. It makes all the world of difference to how you feel. Smile

Lovely news, mssleepyhead - so you will be able to go through the next few months together! Is that just two or three weeks between you?

HungryHorace · 20/02/2014 16:56

Oh wow, mssleepyhead! That's such amazing, happy news. :-)

You must be due really close together!

DD has turned into a child who opens things in the supermarket, and she's not even 8 months yet! Big mistake giving her a bag of rice cakes to play with. Parenting fail. :-)

Stopped her crying though. :-)

PinaColadas · 20/02/2014 17:07

Aww Misssleepyhead that is the nicest news so lovely!!

weeza13 · 20/02/2014 18:22

May be a bit dumb but what is the harmony test? Great news mssleepyhead, how lovely to have a close friend to share your pregnancy with. At the moment all my friends are supportive and excited but they all had their children years ago so don't really want to do baby talk. My sister is quite happy to but had a very different Pregnancy from me and wants to play the 'who had the worst time' game.

Secretlypregnant · 20/02/2014 18:45

Weeza13, it's a non-invasive test that gives a more accurate risk assessment for Downs and other problems than the nuchal test. It's early days but it looks likely that it will be made available on the NHS in the not-too-distant future.

mssleepyhead · 20/02/2014 19:32

Thanks everyone. secretly we're about 2 weeks apart so will be brilliant! We always said it'd be good to have children together but can't believe how this has worked out!

Lissbug · 20/02/2014 19:52

weeza13. yes its only available privately right now but the NHS is testing it out with women it regards as high risk. as well as downs, it tests for patau and edwards. your blood has to be sent off to the states and it costs about £400 including 2 scans but can be done between 10 and 12 weeks and is 99% accurate so well worth it in my view.

mssleepyhead · 20/02/2014 21:05

liss it's going to be our next step if we get a high risk rating after the nuchal fold, but the people at the fetal medicine centre told me it could be done up to 36 weeks - were you told differently?

Lissbug · 20/02/2014 22:09

Sorry mssleepy you are right. Must have imagined the limit! I had mine at the fetal medicine centre. Their scans are really detailed. Look on the portland's site for more info on the test as the fmc doesn't have this detail.
