How fast do we get through these threads?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HungryHorace · 15/02/2014 07:19

Mummy2b, that puts the children firmly in the same school year now! :-)

How exciting and scary too. Were you early or late with your last two?

I've not seen babyspice. We keep losing people. :-/

Plentyoffish · 15/02/2014 08:30

Thanks Lucyfluff Smile thats the best name I could come up with at the time ha! never been on the site but I know of 2 couples who met from there and are now happily planning weddings.

Sounds a bit like my appointment yesterday but glad you have it all sorted now.

Night sounded lovely

Owlysims · 15/02/2014 09:04

Trying to keep caught up with the thread, seems more difficult with the Facebook group as well! Hope all are well, great news on good scans, so they've all gone so well recently! Any more to come??

Hope everyone is starting to feel better? Thankfully I have been feeling better since about 12 weeks (im 14 weeks now) and I'm finally excepting maybe that's the poorly stage over for me...fingers crossed!!! Took longer with our daughter so hoping the nausea doesn't come back with a vengeance!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and stay safe in the storms ThanksThanks

Owlysims · 15/02/2014 09:04

So good that meant to say!!!

jessplussomeonenew · 15/02/2014 10:14

Owly, I think I have the latest due date on the thread so I may also be the last scanee (Weds) - it can't come fast enough as my nausea etc is so much better, and my body shape hasn't changed a bit so apart from the fatigue I might not be pregnant at all which is a slight nagging worry.

Anybody else thinking about or with experience of having a birth doula? Would be really reassuring to have someone with lots of birth experience that I know to offset midwife roulette!

Owlysims · 15/02/2014 10:33

Jess plus my nausea and fatigue went away at about '10 and a half' weeks but when I went to scan I was put forward to turns out that was nearly 12 weeks so perfectly normal! So I wouldn't worry at all! I'm sure all is okay, enjoy feeling better Smile I shall look forward to hearing your scan news then I'm sure all the sexing and anomaly scans will begin!!

CountdownBegins · 15/02/2014 10:57

Morning all- just caught up with the thread- it's difficult to stay up to date as I'm mainly on the FB page. Glad all the scans have been going well! And welcome to the newbies.

14+6 here and no sign of the sickness disappearing- think me and Ruggle are in the same boat as a few of you.

Is anyone going to the baby show next weekend? We bought our tickets and I'm so excited to indulge in all things baby!

HungryHorace · 15/02/2014 11:15

Where is that one, Countdown? There's one in ?Manchester soon, but we won't be going. We don't need anything, so there's no point.

We won some tickets last year and went because we wanted to try out ERF car seats, but otherwise wouldn't have bothered.

My nausea comes and goes. I mostly don't feel that pregnant, but do tend to feel sick first thing in the morning. I felt sick almost all day the other day, which was grim, but thankfully rare.

CountdownBegins · 15/02/2014 11:29

It's the big one at The ExCel in London- DP and I are going to check out buggies, car seats etc and figure out how much £ we need to spend. Then I'm going to the same one in May with my mum in Birmingham to buy everything. That's my OCD organisational plan for now anyways. Also I love all the free crap that you get at those kind if things!

3rdtymmummy2b · 15/02/2014 13:28

I think it will be lovely for them being in the same school year hungry Smile, i was 38+4 with dc1 and 40+4 with dc2, so who knows with this one, just hopefully not over again fx

I havent seen anything from babyspice x

HungryHorace · 15/02/2014 13:59

I'm thinking 39+4 to fill the gap in the middle! :-)

It'll be lovely for them to have each other at school. You'll confuse all the other parents who don't know you though!

I hate my non-pregnant feeling days. It's all worrying.

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 15/02/2014 19:57

Countdown we're going to the show too, mainly because we know what pram we want and I've heard that we can get a good deal there. I've done the price research already so will only buy if the price is right!

Rootvegetables · 15/02/2014 20:42

Hello, glad all is going well for you all. I've just got my next lot of appointments through and il be 19 +3 for my midwife appointment and 23 weeks for my scan, these both seem like ages away had last appointment scan and midwife at 12+4 are anyone else's so far away, as you are all talking about 16 week appointments?? I'm having twins so am meant to be 'high risk'

22honey · 15/02/2014 21:13

Hi everyone, congrats on all the rest of the gang who had their good scans :) I'm 14 weeks today and am starting to feel worried and nervous again! Its so long until the next scan and I still cant quite believe I'm pregnant, my boobs are becoming less sore and sensitive, I've no sickness anymore and I know this is normal but its hard to believe my bub is still growing. Its my first baby and I am so worried about everything!

I just want to see them again (I cant afford any private scans) if you know what I mean. I keep getting terrified about a MMC at 20 week scan or if the MW cant find the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment (Im not even sure I want her to try!), even though I know its common to not find it then I am still terrified of it happening because I will be even more worried then. I will be convinced my baby has died!

I am getting bigger round the belly I have noticed though (though it comes and goes so probably just bloating?) and my breasts are still very large, heavy and uncomfortable feeling. I know Im probably worrying for nothing but would like some reassurance from ladies who perhaps have felt like this on past pregnancies and it all went ok?

xxxxx

HungryHorace · 15/02/2014 21:30

Root, do you not make your own appointments? Seems odd that they send them to you.

At booking in the midwife should have written your appointment schedule in your notes. Have a look and see what's in there as there may be others you have to book.

2be, I was apparently like this last time, i.e. relatively symptomless at this point. I don't remember it though. I'm sure it'll all be fine. I share your fear though!

HungryHorace · 15/02/2014 21:32

Sorry, I meant 22Honey, not 2be!

travispickles · 15/02/2014 22:26

I just got my 20 week scan in post, the 18th march. Coming round quickly this time!! Got my consultant apt on Wednesday so fx all ok. Does seem a bit late but there is a time range root. Although would assume with twins more vigilant .

babyspice2501 · 16/02/2014 08:27

Hi girls ive been around ive just been lurking lol as sometimes it goes quicker for me if I stay away. But im 11+4 today and have my scan tomorrow at 10:00am! Im so excited!

Well done on all the scans so far too!

Im feeling alot better recently. My boobs dont hurt, I rarely get sickness. I just feel alot more hungry!

Cazbg · 16/02/2014 08:37

22honey - feeling exactly the same, you are not alone on this. i am having my first as well. I am 14 + 4 today and except for being a little bit more tired than normal, I don't have any symptons or bump. Rationally I know that this is normal bu irrationally I am panicking that something is wrong. I had am early missed miscarriage last year at about 6.5weeks - discovered at 8.5weeks, which makes all the paranoia that much worse.
I seem to have a week of relax after I see the baby on the scans and then the anxiety and paranoia creeps back in.
Was thinking of maybe getting a home Doppler - what are people's opinions of these? Xxx

mssleepyhead · 16/02/2014 10:22

babyspice will be thinking of you tomorrow - my scan's at 10am too! Not quite as nervous as when I had the private one last week as things seemed ok then but really hoping things have been ok this week after my fall on Monday and continuing spotting. Also hoping to see a moving baby too, as last week baby was very still.

caz I got a home Doppler last week. Didn't think I would, wasn't really expecting it to be so cheap on amazon and once I saw the price and great reviews I couldn't resist. Trying to avoid using it too much, every other day at the moment, Have been able to pick up baby's heart beat every time I've tried and found it hugely reassuring. I'm 13 weeks and a size 10-12 - I don't know if that's helped. I've also been assured by the fact that I've found it in different places. Hoping that means baby is moving around in there.

Symptoms wise, mine are dropping slightly too. Still tired, still waking in the night for the loo, boobs still a bit sore (but then I never prodded them much before so hard to tell if this is new!) and still slight nausea, especially if I get hungry (which is always). Can feel a swollen abdomen, but nothing really visible bump wise. Favourite thing to do is lie on my left side for a while then roll on to my back. Lying on my side seems to make the bump swell or fall forwards or something, and when I lie back again I feel pregnant for about 2 minutes!

mssleepyhead · 16/02/2014 10:47

ps. caz I put a review of my doppler on my blog, in case you'd like to see which one I got.

chocolocodowninacapulco · 16/02/2014 12:33

Thanks mssleepy. I've just bought one, cool blog btw.

HungryHorace · 16/02/2014 12:48

Is that the Doppler made by Clearblue? I tested one for them and was given it for free. I was about 36 weeks' pregnant then, so the heartbeat was bloody easy to find!

I'm resisting getting it out of the cupboard. Just. :-)

mssleepyhead · 16/02/2014 13:48

I don't think so, hungry. No CB branding on the packaging and I suspect if it was theirs it would cost a bit more : )

HungryHorace · 16/02/2014 14:25

Ah, the one I tested was branded AngelSounds, so I think it is Clearblue, just branded differently. :-)

I remember one of the questions after testing was would I associate Clearblue with a Doppler.

I know they were looking to sell at around £20.
