How fast do we get through these threads?

Ruggle that's great! I go to 3 baby and toddler groups run by churches each week and they are fantastic! They all have a baby area and toys as well as toddler activities, coffee, biscuits etc. Two of them cost £2 and one is free. All run by kind friendly people too which helps when you're hZving a rough day. Would also second free post-natal groups ( although the Health Visitor at mine drove me mad!!)

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 13:07

Flymo, I'll weigh it and let you know how much it is. :-)

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 13:15

cheers Hungry!

Also - I've got an issue with "twinges" at the moment - anyone else having a sort of feeling in their fanjo (or perhaps it's more my weeing parts) that feels really similar to when you are desperate for a wee. But invariably it's not when I'm desperate for a wee. I've never had cystitis and am hoping it's not that!!! Equally I know I'm prone to all sorts of odd feelings in those regions just because of growth etc....

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 13:22

I've PM'd you, Flymo.

I don't have twinges like that. Plenty of others, but not that. I'd just put it down to pregnancy, if I were you! :-)

PinaColadas · 12/02/2014 14:21

I love the What to expect book, you'll Like it Flymo.

I've got 4 different bible type books because friends and family have lent me them. Not really got stuck into them yet and not going back to one which showed a real life diagram of how big your cervix gets. I'll maybe have a gander while i'm in labour...

londonchick · 12/02/2014 14:22

Flymo I'm having a lot of 'full bladder' feelings. Bit of pressure right at the front making me feel as though I need a wee but quite often I don't. Am just putting it down to pregnancy!!

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 14:59

ooh, thanks for that LondonChick, maybe it is pressure. Couldn't help feeling a bit Hmm as my colleague said "sounds like cystitis"! nice.

ha! pina! I would be all over that cervix pic!! I might dash home after work and start looking that sort of stuff up. Can't be too prepared, eh??!

PinaColadas · 12/02/2014 15:00

I showed DH and he said thats not much is it. Err it's enough for me thanks...

Shakshuka · 12/02/2014 15:06

Just need to say that I hate 'What to Expect'!! I got it from the Amazon prime lending library and so glad I never spent any money on it. It's patronizing and infantilizing!!! The little cheery cheesy jokes got on my nerves as well. I think there's far better info books than that one! Just my opinion....(don't mean to offend anyone who like it!!!)

PinaColadas · 12/02/2014 15:11

Not offended Shak, Guess different people like different things, I do like pictures (that makes me sound like a right wally) thats what WTE lacked, but it's less of a pregnancy bible more of a common Q and A book isn't it.

lucyfluff · 12/02/2014 15:12

Thanks for the fishslap it was needed lol!!!

Bubba all fine Smile spot on with dates I had and looking very wriggly! NT was 1.3 just need to wait for bloods. Will pop pics on fbk later Smile

Hope everyone elses scans were good x

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 15:13

thanks Shak - what do you recommend? and it's nice to hear from you - sorry I didn't say hi after you sent your long post!!

Thatsnotmyfigure · 12/02/2014 15:18

Great news lucyfluff. Flymo another good book is The Rough Guide to Pregnancy. Local libraries often have a fair few preggo books too

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 15:21

ooh, good point Thats, will look in charity shops too (my fave hunting ground)

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 15:25

I liked WTE because it's Q&A. You have a question, look it up, and get an answer. As a first timer I found it helpful and better than Google as it isn't alarmist.

And I don't want to read a book from cover to cover, just dip in as and when. :-)

But horses for courses. I'm also not looking at books this time either. Poor baby 2 is a neglected soul already!

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 15:26

Ah, excellent news, Lucy :-)

Can't wait to see the picture.

BunnyBaby · 12/02/2014 15:43

All went well at scan, moved forwards a few days as I had expected, I have a 26 day cycle.

Placenta anterior but low, hence I can still feel movements, they will be keeping an eye to see it move up. It's not covering the cervix so not too much of a problem. Just may mean more chance of posterior baby again.

Great news Lucy too!

Have amended my date on the list :-)

yippee for Bunny and Lucy!!

Shakshuka · 12/02/2014 15:47

Good news lucy and bunny!

Flymo - I liked Emily Oster's "Expecting Better". I find for the week by week stuff the internet is just as good as any bible (and free)!

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 15:52

ah yes, shak, have read reviews of Expecting better. Will look out for it.

Secretlypregnant · 12/02/2014 16:01

Great news Lucy and Bunny - congratulations!

lucyfluff · 12/02/2014 16:04

Yay bunny Grin for good scan news x

PinaColadas · 12/02/2014 16:07

Great news on the scans, looking forward to the pics on FB later :)

I've also got 'The Day-By-Day Pregnancy Book' it's a DK book and has a page per day of info and also lots of extra stuff and Q and A's, highly recommended.

travispickles · 12/02/2014 16:14

I remember worrying about dps lack of interest and having a real go last time. To be honest it's happening to your body 24/7 so you can't get away from it, whereas for them it becomes real in hospital. It's not a sign that they won't be a good dad.

mssleepyhead · 12/02/2014 16:27

Congratulations on the scans everyone!

Flymo - I'm constantly feeling like I need the loo but when I go: nada. It's driving me a bit crazy!

More brown spotting today too. Really hoping its still nothing and just counting down till Monday and seeing my little one again. Was told last weekend I have a low lying placenta and wondering that that could cause it?
