How fast do we get through these threads?

Piña - completely agree with the limbo feeling, annoying due to work commitments and the fact that my midwife only does appointments on Wednesday, I do not get my 16 week appt till 17 week which is 3 weeks tommorow - feels like ages away.

Shaksuka - I had a really bad migraine at about 12 weeks (never usually get them). Been informed that they are usually caused by hormone changes so nothing to worr about : )

Secretlypregnant · 11/02/2014 15:17

Just had a call from the hospital - the Harmony test results are in and it's 1 in less than 10,000. Smile

PinaColadas · 11/02/2014 16:01

Caz, aww thats rubbish, i'm nearly 17 too the wait is killing me. It's terrible but i'm really wishing my life away at the moment!

Thats brilliant Secretly!

HungryHorace · 11/02/2014 16:19

I'll be 16+4 at my appt. Could be worse!

Great news on the scan, Abi. :-)

And also on your Harmony results, Secretly.

I was thinking about you earlier, Shak. I'm glad you're doing well.

mszeen · 11/02/2014 18:01

ahh abi I did have a scan buddy... good news on your scan today! Smile

I had mine earlier on today(as all the fb netters prob know from the eager posting of my scan pic Grin ) - All was good had a little wave from bubba and DP sneakily took a bit of video footage Grin (till he was told that was not allowed lol)

I was just wondering has anyone had an undiagnosed breech vaginal delivery before? and if so what extra precautions did they take to ensure they didn't miss a breech presentation a second time? I have been referred to a consultant for my next visit but I was just wondering if anyone has been through this experience?

14+1

Thatsnotmyfigure · 11/02/2014 19:06

Great news on the scans and the harmony test secretly!
That NCT thread is still going strong on the pregnancy board - have finally found a moment to write my essay on the subject ;)
Am sooo missing a good nights sleep - think since conception I've only slept through the night 3 times. I guess that's pretty normal?

mssleepyhead · 11/02/2014 19:41

Thank you for asking about me bunny. I had a spotting free day yesterday and Sunday and thought it was over, but today I've just got home and noticed a bit more brown discharge after my bike ride. I know after Saturday's scan I shouldn't worry, but every time I see it my heart flutters a bit. I think it's related to the cycling as that seems to be when it happens most, but will ask at the hospital on Monday.

mssleepyhead · 11/02/2014 20:04

Scratch that about being anxious - my Doppler arrived today. Just tried it and within 10 minutes found the heartbeat! Pounding away at over 150bmp. Amazing!! : D

BunnyBaby · 11/02/2014 21:32

Ha ha, great news on scans and dopplers!

Thanks for all the good wishes, I'm in tomorrow at 1.20pm to be precise.

Don't worry about NCT. I did health visitor post natal group which was FREE! Also the health visitor should give you details on mum & baby groups, some were free, others just £1 and great to get you out of the house. It can all be done on a shoe string. Both free post-natal groups gave me an amazing group of friends, and helped me get to know people in my local area.

Hope we're all keeping dry in this weather. I'm in S Bucks, but luckily on the top of a hill - phew!

Good luck tomorrow bunny, hope it goes really well : )

LakeOfDreams · 11/02/2014 22:06

Woohoo scan buddy mines at 1:30. Got a dentist appointment at 11:30 so that should happily kill some time. Just keeping everything crossed that I'm growing a healthy little person. It's felt like I've been waiting forever for this scan. Got me £10 ready to pay for the pix!!

Owlysims · 11/02/2014 22:24

Great news on scans/heart beats...good luck with scans tomorrow!!! SmileSmile

2beornot · 11/02/2014 22:55

Good luck to tomorrow's scanees!!

I was supposed to visit new office tomorrow and was going to tell my new boss about my pregnancy but he phoned today to cancel and instead I won't see them until my first day (3rd march, will be 18+5). So now I've got to choose whether to tell him over phone/by email or wait til I start. I wasn't looking forward to telling him but I was looking forward to it being over!!

At least I've got midwife appt on thurs to look forward to. Fingers crossed she can find heartbeat!!

Thatsnotmyfigure · 11/02/2014 23:40

Good luck for scans tomorrow ! Bunny- how funny- am also in S Bucks but on a (small) hill? Made it to Windsor today for swimming and saw the floods. Is this number 2 for you too?!

Owlysims · 12/02/2014 08:00

2be that would be my perfect opportunity to tell by email!! 'I wanted to tell you face to face at meeting but as this was canceled bla ba bla....' But then I'm a coward Blush good luck ThanksThanks

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 08:16

I agree with Owly. Perfectly legitimate reason to now email the news! :-)

lucyfluff · 12/02/2014 09:33

Arghhhh Im so nervous!!! someone slap me with a wet fish!!! Wink

Ruggle · 12/02/2014 09:45

Re NCT etc...after all my worrying about not having anything nearby I emailed the church at the end of my road asking if they had any mums and baby groups and they said the have mums&toddlers on Monday mornings but if I turn up to one of those they can tell me about mums&baby meetings that happen in their café! Yay! Practically on my doorstep. Being a non-religious person I hadn't thought to contact churches.

Secretlypregnant · 12/02/2014 10:33

Good luck to all those having scans - and a wet fish for Lucy!

PinaColadas · 12/02/2014 10:40

Thats fab news Ruggle!

< Thats for you Lucy! ha ha :) Good luck!

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 10:49

Good luck with the scans :-)

That's great news, Ruggle.

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 11:29

tell them by email 2be, I would (also a bit of a coward though!!).
love the wet fish Pina, made me laugh out loud.
I got a bit engrossed on that NCT thread, have decided to investigate Daisy birthing as I think it might be a good combo of advice and exercise... and there's one local to me (more local than the NCT turned out to be!!).

Has anyone read any good preg-related or first-timer books? I really want to get one as I feel it would draw DP in a bit more, he is SO preoccupied with work I had a bit of a meltdown the other day and he said that he's finding it hard to relate. I don't feel worried (yet) but don't want him to be completely unprepared. Any tips???

FriendofDorothy · 12/02/2014 11:45

A friend of mine did Daisy classes and seemed to rate them.

I have been to see the obstetrician today. He is lovely and was delighted to see us again as we had to have some treatment to get pregnant last time. He did another scan with a much more sensive piece of equipment so we saw some wonderful pictures this time :)

HungryHorace · 12/02/2014 11:59

Flymo, What to Expect When You're Expecting is quite useful. I've got a copy I can send for postage costs. Might be cheaper to get a second hand one on Amazon though.

The Daisy Birthing lady here is lovely. I won't be doing any courses though, as I did antenatal last time and I'm having an ELCS.

That's lovely, Friend. Did you get a copy of the pictures?

flymo79 · 12/02/2014 12:36

ooh friend, how lovely. Thanks for the tip on Daisy classes.

Hungry that's a really sweet offer! Is it a large book? would be very happy to take it off you for postage costs!!
